Just want to comment on the beginning, Mecury Steam didnt set out to reboot castlevania, they were working on a game that was Lords of Shadow, Konami made them turn it into a Castlevania game.
I loved this game and the sequel the story is very intresting no loose ends in the end and everything concludes nicely, amazing voice actors too, dont know why people hate it, it was also very hard and took long to finish
***** It is Castlevania indeed, and I love Lords of Shadows and even the Mirror of Fate HD version on the PC was a blast for me. You should really realize that its the year 2015 and not 1990. Games like Symphony of the Night wont be anymore, neither Super Metroid. There is no demand of games like that except a very few nostalgic people like me or you. Thats why Axiom Verge is not popular, and thats why Bloodstained Ritual of the Night wont be popular once its done. I had a blast playing these games in the past but hey, it's time to move on. Lords of Shadow is a fantastic game.
***** well, isn't this a reboot of the franchise, they can change the lore somewhat, just look at dmc: devil may cry and tomb raider, both are reboots and both are different from the others in the franchises they belong to
commander392 People wouldnt mind if the whole reboot didnt try to piss and poo all over the stuff established in the pre-reboot era (alot like how every fan of DMC hates on DMC reboot for making fun of the old Dante)
10:50 "How did that cauldron hold any liquid in the first place if it had that huge crack in it?" Because the Cauldron didn't get cracked until the monster slammed it on his head.
-His name is Gandolfi because the creator of the Combat Cross (Vampire Killer in the canon games) is called Rinaldo Gandolfi, and appeared in Castlevania Lament of Innocence -She's not called Laura, she's Claudia, Laura appears later in the game -Zolbek? anyways i love this video and this game, is one of my favorites
wow, I am from romania and actualy had to listen 3 times to that bit where he tries to say " i am the devil " to understand that it is my fuckin language.... good job konami... gg
I've noticed that the entire Lords of Shadow series has its own "Wilhelm Scream". It's in the boss fight with the Crow Witch, when you guide her to crash against the tower. It's mid-fall in the boss fight with Carmilla, when she's flying, you're hugging her leg, and she kicks you off. It's in the boss fight with Satan, while you are both fist-fighting in mid-air. And that's only this game. I've heard two of them in this video. I wouldn't consider it a sin though. I think the Belmont scream is hilarious.
+1 Sin For Him Not Mentioning How The Girl Not Talking Except Through Mind Powers Was Just The Devs Excuse To Not Have To Do The Lip Syncing For Another Character
"This ending sponsored by the Catholic Church." Dude, seriously? Of course Christian themes are going to be present in a game with vampires, demons and Satan as the final boss. That's kinda Dracula's whole character arc, wanting revenge against God.
Considering how they're thinking (and by they, i'm meaning the movie industries) that Blade should muslim, i'm not entirelly sure about vampires and christians anymore. And that's sad.
The devoper didn't say "fuck it reboot" they initially wanted to make their own game, but then Kojima came along and suggested putting Castlevania in there, probably for marketing reasons. So it's not the wests' fault.
That is what I thought, call it Dracula: Lord of Shadows and replace the Belmonts with Van Helsings and I would have not gotten all nostalgia butt hurt
The only thing I didn't like about this game was you weren't free to roam. Other than that, it's a very good game with great voice acting & beautiful animations. And that two minute cut scene of the rock titan coming to life is one of the most memorable moments in the entire game. Part 2 might have improved on allowing you freedom to explore, but it just didn't have the same magic as the first game. Does anyone else agree?
So Konami hired Robert Carlyle, a Scottish Shakespearean actor with a commitment to authenticity in roles and known for perfecting the art of method acting, to play Gabriel Belmont, yet it seems he put more effort into this role than any of the developers did in making this game. That is cringe-worthy.
Hmm...when I heard that woman say, "It's not fair! I never lose! You're cheating," I wasn't so much reminded of the League of Legends community as much as I was reminded of Edward Nigma in all of the Batman games. In fact, I'm pretty sure he speaks those exact words in each game.
same as you, i liked it. shame he skipped the DLC with the TRUE final boss. that was the ending the game needed, not that gimmicky satan boss. took me three uninterrupted hours to beat the final DLC boss.
"Yeah, there's no way I'm playing the DLC of this game to find out why Gabriel is now Dracula." If you enjoyed the game even a little bit, refusing to play Reverie/Ressurection is saying to yourself "Yeah, I'm totally going to miss out on this". Then again, you do know that Laura has more of a role to play in the DLC, so... Anyway, if you don't intend to play it (I'd love to see the DLC's sins by the way), your loss. p.s.: Nice video, as always. Keep giving us good laughs.
TheColorblindpony I'm going to go out on a limb and say he already typed it correctly as his comment doesn't have to "edited*" thing next to it. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Dartigan Im willing to bet the only reason they added the whole mind communication bit was to save time/money by not having to animate her talking. I guess that way they could animate more unnecessary flips.
WHOSE IDEA WAS THIS? I've never even played a Castlevania game and I know that whenever this series wanders into 3d, it never ends well. This doesn't even look like a Castlevania game! It looks like a Dark Souls game for Arceus's sake!
"Gabriel must enjoy impaling-" Number one, Gabe is a holy warrior. Number two, he is fighting vampires and their servants. Impalements will be a'plenty.
The reason the swamp is a pace killer is that there parts you have to wade through, and bubbles indicate nymphs will reach their emaciated slimy arms will try to drag you down. Though the bubbles blink in and out there is no way to properly time it and they WILL grab you and quick time event you constantly.
I'm just playing through the second one after having watched this video, and I am absolutely pissed at how many times they referenced the "What is a man" scene from the actually GOOD Castlevania series.
+Dartigan ... normally I tend to defend you, but here's one for you. In #12, "no way in hell can you lift a pole that big all on your own"... Sure you can, if you use proper technique. If you want, search Wikipedia for "Caber toss", which is the Scottish term for "pick up *and throw* a TELEPHONE POLE" (19 feet 6 inches long, and about 175 pounds.) EDIT: Is it just me, or does the lady with the Hairway to Heaven (sorry, couldn't resist the pun... "The higher the hair, the closer to God", or so they say) at 11:22 sound almost exactly like the voice actress of the Red Queen in the Resident Evil movie? Sin #107: "We are not so different, you and I"... Gabriel begs to differ. There are *many* differences. And two of those differences are just one wardrobe malfunction away from popping out to say "hello". Related to sin #129: What do you get if you put Patrick Stewart and Brian Blessed in the same room? HAM TO HAM COMBAT, of course! (Alternately, you can substitute one of them with William Shatner if you like.) Also related to sin #134: I really hope the developers were nice enough to at least provide a glass of wine to wash down all that scenery he just chewed.
I come and go from this channel every now and then over the years. Not that the content ain't unique and enjoyable. Just that I can only watch content I cleared.
3:54 You know, i was playing this game a few days ago and i found out something i never saw before on this puzzle. When you have a ring selected, it glows a dull yellow. But one of the rings will have a bright white shine that moves either left or right. The puzzle tells you this in a. Some what cryptic way, but still, i never found it until then.
Dartigan You forgot a few sins. 6:30 Golem wearing what appears to be Daedric armor. Skyrim reference? 8:20 Enter the Matrix? 11:17 Dwemer Spider from Skyrim 13:52 Devil May Cry 4 reference from when Dante shoots Sanctus in the face. P.S. Loved the video, lol.
Long story short: Gabriel takes the power of a creature called The Forgotten One, face him two or three times, and stole his powers becoming Dracula. And you guys don't know how dirt i feel for using Gabriel and Dracula in the same sentence.
I just realized that in movies and video games, even books or comics that every character that is questioned about their past, the main character turns around and hangs their head forward, then turns their head slightly so they can see the person behind them through the corner of the eye and say something like this: "My mother was kidnapped," or "My son died yesterday," or "I really have to pee, but the nearest toilet is two-hundred miles away." I hope in the future they give a better excuse, at least a bathroom excuse instead of a 'death for motivation' method? Could be wrong though.
Which is why Alucard doesn’t curse much in the Castlevania games, a fact which they forgot in the Netflix series #adriantepes #alucardcastlevania #castlevaniasotn
You forgot a sin for enemies dropping daggers - even though apparently these daggers are especially made, and blessed with the bones of saints, to fight the Undead! So what on earth are the enemy mobs doing with them?!
HouseLyrander uncharted started a new era of gaming. For that alone , it deserves not to be tried n ripped on by this kid , he would just sound dumb. Like in The Last of Us sin video
rub ber I'm not sure what to address here, that Far Cry 4: Hollow Aping of 3 Boogaloo is really the bigger deal here, that regardless of what Uncharted did to gaming (for good or ill) the way levels were clearly made before the writers figured out how they'd fit together alone makes those games worth Sinning, or that Dartigan hasn't Sinned Last of Us yet.
Game Sins Sins: -From all Reports ( and the fact he set up with Sony in less then 10 days, like it was planned out and he was just waiting to finalize) Kojima Quit -Climbable bosses actually made an apperance in previous castlevania games. -Gandolfi is actually a character mentioned several times in the pre-reboot and appears as a merchant in one of the PS2 3D games. He's the creator of the Vampire killer. -She knew she was destined to die at his hand so she made it easy. -Because God, even in the traditional Jedeo-christian sense IS NOT able to control all things. -Eagle is Pan also Bald eagles have been seen in Europe during breeding season...and Pan gets lonely...Don't look at Pan like that -Several Castlevania games actually don't take place in the demon castle or aren't mainly set in a castle setting( 2, 3, OoE to name ones off the top of my head) -Backstory given on Carmilla explains why they'd settle down there, Also it'd be pretty hard to move...ANYWHERE in those times withou a kickass bald eagle. -Zobek doesn't know it's Holy Water or is being Coy and going directly off the legend which may have mistaken the holy water's effect as that of the the sun's, it's oral traditions that garble the message kind of like playing telephone but with a story. -Ian Mckellan was originally up for the role of Zobek so probably not. -Her hair is 3 times longer than she is taller...benfit of being 8 years old for 100s of years with a woman with maternal instincts. -Fredrich is not Victor, much like his mechanical monster isn't Adam. -It's magic dress...notice how it changes when she changes. -On the 2nd "We are one and the same" Sin, a fallen brotherhood member who is being played LIKE A DAMN FIDDLE! by god and satan. -Not Heaven, but the next best thing PURGATORY WHERE YOU GET TO DO NOTHING ALL DAY! -Satan likes the jokes like that. -Yeah Satan does get his ass beat. Oh and if you do play the DLC you get "but enough talk have at you"
"You monkeys don't deserve redemption."
Something tells me this version of Satan would get along excellently with Freeza.
Just want to comment on the beginning, Mecury Steam didnt set out to reboot castlevania, they were working on a game that was Lords of Shadow, Konami made them turn it into a Castlevania game.
So ignore castlevania in the title? Give it a shot as a game all its own I guess.
Reminds me of what happened to the later Hellraiser sequels.
"Ah, he's anime gorgeous." I lost it. Had to pause. Hahaha.
+Anariel Anastil I know right, he could be in an ecchi manga.
I loved this game and the sequel the story is very intresting no loose ends in the end and everything concludes nicely, amazing voice actors too, dont know why people hate it, it was also very hard and took long to finish
Why does this game get so much hate, I enjoyed the story and the overall game
commander392 Its mainly because of how "Not Castlevania" it is.
***** It is Castlevania indeed, and I love Lords of Shadows and even the Mirror of Fate HD version on the PC was a blast for me. You should really realize that its the year 2015 and not 1990. pearce1984 Im not specifically talking about the gameplay. Most people are fine with this God of War thing. The LORE is the thing thats off.
***** well, isn't this a reboot of the franchise, they can change the lore somewhat, just look at dmc: devil may cry and tomb raider, both are reboots and both are different from the others in the franchises they belong to

"Konami were actually gonna fire Kojima". That was worth a hundred sins right there.
more like an infinite amount of sins
10:50 "How did that cauldron hold any liquid in the first place if it had that huge crack in it?"
Because the Cauldron didn't get cracked until the monster slammed it on his head.
-His name is Gandolfi because the creator of the Combat Cross (Vampire Killer in the canon games) is called Rinaldo Gandolfi, and appeared in Castlevania Lament of Innocence
-She's not called Laura, she's Claudia, Laura appears later in the game
-Zolbek?
anyways i love this video and this game, is one of my favorites
Nicolás Moreno wasn’t Zolbek and old school villains for the series?
"It's not like castlevania had a deep lore."
Hilarious.
wow, I am from romania and actualy had to listen 3 times to that bit where he tries to say " i am the devil " to understand that it is my fuckin language.... good job konami... gg
Yeah same :))
xD it was almoust as good as the romanian in rise of nightmares
+Joey “Psychic” Monster ei sint dracoooooool frate
:))))) mda am invatat acuma cum se spune cu adevarat .
If you are familiar with castlevania series, it barely has anything to do with romania, it doesnt even have gypsies
My man sins for Gabriel surviving the lightning beam but doesn't sin for him getting fucking impaled and surviving in that same fight
"Well dip me in chocolate and throw me to the lesbians." That is my favorite thing that anyone has ever said.
"Fly Shitbuscuit, fly! Fly us to s better game" is easily my favorite line in this video
"Well dip me in chocolate and throw me away to the lesbians." XD Totally using that line from now on.
Stolen from a tshirt I own from 1986 lol
08:03 "Murica fuck yeah" made me laugh so much.
+1 Sin For Him Not Mentioning How The Girl Not Talking Except Through Mind Powers Was Just The Devs Excuse To Not Have To Do The Lip Syncing For Another Character
mmmmmmm... Delicious Patrick Stewart ham~
Jack Ball I hear it goes great with George Clooney Cheese. ;P
Veritas 1995 Also, Jon Hamm's John Ham. Yum!
Jack Ball Fuck it, have *him* play Dracula. It's certainly better than emo Drac. =D
+Jack Ball (Son0fgrim) Patrick Stewart ham huh? I guess this would be cool with Jill Sandwiches
"This ending sponsored by the Catholic Church."
Dude, seriously? Of course Christian themes are going to be present in a game with vampires, demons and Satan as the final boss. That's kinda Dracula's whole character arc, wanting revenge against God.

Yeah but the joke still stands
Yeah give me the Koji Igarashi/Symphony of the Night/Metroidvania concept over this mess
makes sense, if it were named something else it still be a good game tho
That is what I thought, call it Dracula: Lord of Shadows and replace the Belmonts with Van Helsings and I would have not gotten all nostalgia butt hurt
So basically this got the same treatment as those later Hellraiser sequels.
The only thing I didn't like about this game was you weren't free to roam. Other than that, it's a very good game with great voice acting & beautiful animations. And that two minute cut scene of the rock titan coming to life is one of the most memorable moments in the entire game. interesting i however liked the game being level based like a devil may cry
5:54 That was a front flip. 6:04 That was a cartwheel.6:36 Another front flip.
You can see the cauldron start to crack when he slams it on his head... 10:55
So Konami hired Robert Carlyle, a Scottish Shakespearean actor with a commitment to authenticity in roles and known for perfecting the art of method acting, to play Gabriel Belmont, yet it seems he put more effort into this role than any of the developers did in making this game. 8:29 that "roar" sounds to me like Dragonzord's cry...
Nice to see a new video, Dartigan! Hope you keep up the good work.
i just play this game and i was like "WTF,Is this Castlevania?"
What? Patrick Stewart is in a lot more than the opening narration. He plays the main support character.
complains about how patrick is wasted in the game
patricks delivers his monologue brilliantly = boring conversation
lol
5 Minute Villain monologue.... well if you got Patrick Stewart, USE HIM!!!
15:04 That casual Nod:
"do it, bitch deserves it"
The entire Lords of Shadow arc feels like Lord of the Rings. the title alone is a dead giveaway!
Whatever... I like this game. It was epic and hard to complete.
These videos don't determine the quality of the game. The sins is just for comedy.
Don't worry. I know that. :)
Cool.
same as you, i liked it. shame he skipped the DLC with the TRUE final boss. that was the ending the game needed, not that gimmicky satan boss. took me three uninterrupted hours to beat the final DLC boss.
Attila Tóth I loved both of the games
"Yeah, there's no way I'm playing the DLC of this game to find out why Gabriel is now Dracula."
If you enjoyed the game even a little bit, refusing to play Reverie/Ressurection is saying to yourself "Yeah, I'm totally going to miss out on this". Then again, you do know that Laura has more of a role to play in the DLC, so...
Anyway, if you don't intend to play it (I'd love to see the DLC's sins by the way), your loss.
p.s.: Nice video, as always. Keep giving us good laughs.
14:22 ''All magic comes with a price'' Let's see what Gabriel's is (If it's a magic dagger I'm going home)
Lol Konami, firing the one guy keeping that company afloat.
Also, Patrick Stewart's narration instantly reminded me of X-Men :)
Far Cry 4. The most annoying friendly characters in the entire goddamn universe.
TheColorblindpony I'm going to go out on a limb and say he already typed it correctly as his comment doesn't have to "edited*" thing next to it. Correct me if I'm wrong.
yeah, why can't they all be pagan min??
Dartigan Im willing to bet the only reason they added the whole mind communication bit was to save time/money by not having to animate her talking. I guess that way they could animate more unnecessary flips.
Hearing Patrick Stewart anywhere, is like chocolate melting in your mouth.
Loved it! Especially the Vlad the Impaler joke.
Oh man, how to choose between Far Cry and tLoU... can't. Both would be great!!
You could try doing Mirror's Edge! You'd have a huge sinfest xD
God, i really loved that game.
Style, voices all great
1:50 Moon background effects by Bruce Almighty.
Is it just me or does the flashback of Gabriel killing his wife look like a Twisted Metal: Black cutscene?
Bit too spoilerish lol
WHOSE IDEA WAS THIS? I've never even played a Castlevania game and I know that whenever this series wanders into 3d, it never ends well. This doesn't even look like a Castlevania game! It looks like a Dark Souls game for Arceus's sake!
This game wasn't even supost to be a Castlevania game at all but konami is konami
Gandolfi was actually a character in castlevania lament of innocence so that sin would have to go to the Original Timeline
actualy the cauldren was perfectly in tact just the ogre slammed it on its head is how it cracked
I get it.
"Gabriel must enjoy impaling-"
Number one, Gabe is a holy warrior.
Number two, he is fighting vampires and their servants.
Impalements will be a'plenty.
Patrick Stewart saying "Bitch" should have been minus one sin.
The reason the swamp is a pace killer is that there parts you have to wade through, and bubbles indicate nymphs will reach their emaciated slimy arms will try to drag you down. Though the bubbles blink in and out there is no way to properly time it and they WILL grab you and quick time event you constantly.
This is amazing! I definetly would love more of these videos!
THANK YOU for sinning the "village near the vampire castle" part. What the hell were they thinking, how cheap mortgage rates were?!
I completed this game when it first came out and I can't remember a single thing about it.
i get deadpool flashbacks whenever you make a joke about a landing.
I'm just playing through the second one after having watched this video, and I am absolutely pissed at how many times they referenced the "What is a man" scene from the actually GOOD Castlevania series.
I'd love to have Tim Curry voice Satan in every game.
+Dartigan ... normally I tend to defend you, but here's one for you. In #12, "no way in hell can you lift a pole that big all on your own"...
Sure you can, if you use proper technique. If you want, search Wikipedia for "Caber toss", which is the Scottish term for "pick up *and throw* a TELEPHONE POLE" (19 feet 6 inches long, and about 175 pounds.)
EDIT: Is it just me, or does the lady with the Hairway to Heaven (sorry, couldn't resist the pun...
(Alternately, you can substitute one of them with William Shatner if you like.)
Also related to sin #134: I really hope the developers were nice enough to at least provide a glass of wine to wash down all that scenery he just chewed.
I come and go from this channel every now and then over the years. Not that the content ain't unique and enjoyable. Just that I can only watch content I cleared.
You are one of the best game sins everyday
10:57 he slammed it so damn hard on his head that a crack was made
15:05
I would've sinned how Zobek was able to close his hands with those long-ass nails
Sin 129: You know what, I finally understand it. They called Patrick Stewart to do the voice of Zobeck, and William Shanter to do the Mocap.
Imagine SOTN Dracula being voiced by Steward.
3:54 You know, i was playing this game a few days ago and i found out something i never saw before on this puzzle. When you have a ring selected, it glows a dull yellow. But one of the rings will have a bright white shine that moves either left or right. The puzzle tells you this in a. Some what cryptic way, but still, i never found it until then.
backflip girl : backflips - +1 sin
backflip girl : walks - +1 sin
2 fast 2 werewolf 😂😂😂😂😂 laughing very much right now.
Gonna vote for both. I NEED MOAR GAME SINS. CRUSH THE OTHER PUNY MORTAL GAMING SINS CHANNELS.
It's Gandalf with an "A" though, not "Gandolf"..
Dartigan You forgot a few sins.
6:30 Golem wearing what appears to be Daedric armor. Skyrim reference?
8:20 Enter the Matrix?
11:17 Dwemer Spider from Skyrim
13:52 Devil May Cry 4 reference from when Dante shoots Sanctus in the face.
P.S. Loved the video, lol.
Far cry 4 but seriously. Wait 10 minutes when the main villain leaves to talk to someone over dinner. U get a secret ending
It takes six hours just to get to the castle in a Castlevania game?! It's in the freaking title, man!
2:43
Honestly that's a fuse that takes a bit too long to burn.
I half-expected the story to jump into X-Men. Thank you, Patrick Stewart.
finally beat the game. overall had slightly more positive feelings than negative. But I will say this: Too Many GOD-DAMN PUZZLES!!! 😠😡🤬
Great Video i Love it . Keep on with the good work
I vote for The Last of Us. Your sins actually make sense, so I want to see you sin the game that a lot of people has sucked ass at sinning.
To be fair I expected satan to make that kind of joke sense he is also known for expanding knowledge both scientific and magic
Dude what. At the beginning you complained that P Stew was only used for narration when at 4:40 he is clearly voice acting Zobek
sees new Game Sins video by Dartigan
FANGASM INTENSIFIES
I still can’t stop laughing at this video
The monster designs especially the vampires is the best of any game I've played
This game pissed me off for the fact that it looked so beautiful but it turned out to be puzzle, puzzle boss fight puzzle puzzle boss fight.
Long story short: Gabriel takes the power of a creature called The Forgotten One, face him two or three times, and stole his powers becoming Dracula.
And you guys don't know how dirt i feel for using Gabriel and Dracula in the same sentence.
I really liked this game is one of my favorites. I remember when I play Castlevania in my 64
yea i love it too, i love the book with all the art in it, i got exited every time i met a new monster, because i wantet to see the drawing.
@@Lidera.G hi!! I made a comment here 5 years ago 😲
2:25 Those are not werewolves their riding, they're wargs.
2:22 LOOK AT MY HORSE, MY HORSE IS AMAZING
GIVE IT A LICK, IT TASTE JUST LIKE RAISINS
At least Cornell is a cool character in concept and his execution wasn't too bad. I mean his original canon counterpart.
I just realized that in movies and video games, even books or comics that every character that is questioned about their past, the main character turns around and hangs their head forward, then turns their head slightly so they can see the person behind them through the corner of the eye and say something like this:
"My mother was kidnapped,"
or
"My son died yesterday,"
or
"I really have to pee, but the nearest toilet is two-hundred miles away."
I hope in the future they give a better excuse, at least a bathroom excuse instead of a 'death for motivation' method?
Could be wrong though.
Bible says that swearing is wrong
Which is why Alucard doesn’t curse much in the Castlevania games, a fact which they forgot in the Netflix series
#adriantepes #alucardcastlevania #castlevaniasotn
You forgot a sin for enemies dropping daggers - even though apparently these daggers are especially made, and blessed with the bones of saints, to fight the Undead! So what on earth are the enemy mobs doing with them?!
Fledhyris Proudhon
Why do enemies in most RPGs have money on them that you get when you beat them
Sjono Money is one thing. Saint blessed daggers are another!
7:30
Had to pause the video to finish laughing after this one
LOL Patrick Stewart does have more voices than just narrating amigo
That giant orc dude guy has the Narrator from Dungeon Keeper as his voice!
I vote Far Cry 4! Also, are you planning on doing the Uncharted series anytime soon? I'd love to see your take on them.
Conal Gallagher Yes. Once the series gets rereleased on PS4 this year.
Yeah, both FC4 and Uncharted are way more deserving of a flogging. Now if only I could vote while on mobile.
Dartigan i voted legend of zelda.
HouseLyrander uncharted started a new era of gaming. For that alone , it deserves not to be tried n ripped on by this kid , he would just sound dumb. Like in The Last of Us sin video

Oh and if you do play the DLC you get "but enough talk have at you"
Also, that Pagan goat head thing (Pan?) always makes me think of Chamberlain Skeksis from The Dark Krystal.
