Small fact about the taunt, it’s also a parry button, it’s called “sugarcoating” (for some reason)
its not really called sugarcoating... thats just a meme, mane
It's actually a strategy for _avoiding_ sugarcoating.
"Sugarcoating" is a fighting game term.
The full phrase is "I'm not gonna sugarcoat it", which is an old saying that means that you aren't going to hold back or water down the full brunt of a statement.
Fighting game players have applied this to not holding back or watering down their skill when absolutely styling on an opponent with comboes or skilled techniques. The implicit phrase there being "I'm not gonna sugercoat it, _I'm better than you."_
This meme then got applied to the taunt parry in Pizza Tower because it really does let you style on enemies with your superior skill.

Very nice! It's really cool to see you fellas enjoying the game! Some other tips:
- you can uppercut by pressing Up and Grab in midair I believe;
- while you're "shinesparking" upwards, you can dash to the sides to interrupt it, it can help on some cases;
- when you beat enough enemies I think, you get all charged up with sparks - you'll be able to do a Super Taunt! Press Up and the Taunt button to wipe all enemies from the screen!
- most, if not all enemies start freaking out when you run towards them at high Mach Speed, that's very useful for enemies that carry pointy items on their front, like the Forknights and the Pencers (you'll see them later on, as that lowers their guard on the spot, and you can mow through them no problem;
- you also have a secondary objective of finding the treasure of every level, and to do that, you need to find the pink square guy (Gerome, the tower's janitor), and he'll open the door with his face for you, that's where the treasure is, it gives you a lot of points;
- you should also be on the lookout for secrets! They appear as floating eyes, and when they're hidden, try looking for "eye-looking decorations" on the walls, ceilings and floors;
The collectables all add to your score, you can max out on the S Rank... is what I would say if it wasn't for two other things:
- the combo system, every time you kill an enemy, your combo increases, and whenever you gain points, collect a toppin' or a treasure or so, the combo's timer resets. In fact, it's possible to go through all levels without dropping the combo - the game was designed in that way, that's why the clocks appear at the escape sequence;
- when you manage to get all collectables, and when you start the escape sequence, that's when a special object appears: the Pizza Portal. They always appear at the start of the level, and they have a special, very valuable collectable. If you're feeling confident in how much time you have left when you reach the door, you can enter the portal to gain a huge bonus, and start the 2nd Lap - you'll be teleported to where the Pillar John was, and you'll have to escape to the door again, on whatever remaining time you have. But beware Showtime... _you don't want to wake up Pizzaface._
If you manage to get all items and find all secrets in a level, start a second lap (and get enough points for the S Rank while you do all that), and successfully finish the level and leave through the door _without dropping your combo a single time..._ you'll get the P Rank, the highest rank you can get in a level.
Those two levels (tutorial included) were just a fraction of what the game has in store for you.
As you play, a LOT more stuff will be introduced, and even some small details such as the dance of a certain chunky cheese-like enemy.
It'll be quite a wild ride.

Tip : taunt is a perry. If you use it at the right time you can block any attack. If you see some sparks sround you you can do a supertaunt. That will clear aol the enemies on screen.
Bruh i searched up pizza tower yesterday because i liked the ost of pizza tower, and today AvG posts "ITS PIZZA TIME" amazing how that happened

here's a cool Easter egg. when you start the game, don't turn the light on. the guy will do something if you wait long enough without turning on the lights.

Tips: there 3 secrets in any level, look if there is an inconsistency in the layout, or a hint of an eye in a wall or even those rat markings on the walls were hinting that one of those stupid rats were there.
Taunt is a parry, i've said it, everyone else has said it.
You can press up + grab to do an uppercut, you can use this as a double jump of sorts.
You can grab a wall mid air to inmediately start a wall run.
My favorite Pizza Tower characters are Gustavo and Brick the rat, an unexpected friendship.

I wanna see the stickman running in the john gutter getting every topping and then they remember they forgotthey left 1 at the beggining so the orange one (I forgot the name) starts running to it and fails. Then peppino shows up takes the toppin and helps stickman and gets to the exit.

Here’s some advice: don’t think about going fast, even during pizza time. Just go at your own pace. Additionally, if you time it right, you can parry enemies with the taunt.
