People really seem to forget that the first few days of swiss is bo1, anything can happen
I think Nrg vs Wbg, T1 vs TL, Jdg vs Bds and Dk vs G2 the Western teams CAN potentially win. Due to B01s.
Edit : Obviously on paper West is weaker but Im just saying there IS a possibility due to the fact its the first match, and its B01.

The thing which scares me the most is the asian teams need to lose 3 times to be out... I mean even if we get an upset in the first round of the swiss... DK, WBG, T1 all have still to lose 2 more Swiss Rounds... and sooner or later they will meet again... G2, TL, NRG or FNC have to beat at least 1 asian team completely to join the knockout stage..

If you can't agree with that LNG is better than FNC then its your problem. By the way if FNC manage to beat LNG, then its good for FNC and it will be just another ultra rare EU W against a LPL/LCK team and it will be a massive upset. I don't need to come back with an excuse if a small team beat a big team as it happens rarely. ( Big in EU but small compared to LPL/LCK League teams )

@@LegendJoe3063Even draft advantage doesn't matter when LNG comes with the advantage of massive individual player quality difference against FNC. Better draft for FNC means it will take a bit longer to LNG to beat FNC.

I can see a world where Fnatic make it interesting but if LNG play to their expected level and dont have a repeat of 2021 then its likely to be another stomp
I mean LNG brought JDG to 5 games quite a few times this year in the LPL, from what i heard. LNG is also considered the 2nd strongest team the LPL this year despite being the 3rd seed, as they won vs BLF in the summer playoffs. I don't think FNC stands a chance at winning vs them.

@@mahatmaniggandhi2898 True, but their performance at the actual world championship was really disappointing, they fell apart during week 2 of groups losing to LCS TL and LEC MAD and didn't make it out, I don't think this LNG will perform like that though

I'm pretty sure if BDS play this bo1 against JDG for a hundred times they'd lose 95 of them. Unless you cut off Ruler's right arm or something I don't see bigger odds. Something similar could be said about FNC v LNG.

Hot take: I think BDS has a better chance against JDG than FNC against LNG, because they will attempt some cheesy unconventional stuff that JDG won't prepare for, while FNC will probably just give up every objective without fighting until the match is lost, in the same fashion DFM crashed and burned in playins.
Fnatic surely has more than 5% chance. It's LNG favoured, but nowhere near that sharply.

@@janpiet9921nah, lng has by far one of the strongest roster except for their support, scout was definitely the best midlaner during the summer split, gala was the only adc that could compete with ruler, tarzan is just super consistent, and zika is making an argument for best toplaner in the world if he performs well in worlds, try to face that with the fnatic roster

Yes, we usually get 2 or 3 scragglers that get eliminated in Quarters, and then Caps had 2 years back to back finals and a Semis, but all Im saying is last year only one team making it was kind of an outlier. We will see what happens, but an upset by definition is something noone expects and it happens every year. Even if last year's upset was LCK 4th seed miracle run

Damn a lot of teams being thrown to the wolves early. I never understood why 1st seatings play 4th seatings first because in theory the 4th seatings should always lose
because being first is a reward for the season, while being 4th is a penality for being worse. That actually keeps competitivity in regional leagues because finishing 2nd or 4rth actually is not the same.
To give 1st seeds a reason to fight for being 1st seed, AKA an easier run at worlds. They are 1st seed so they have proven themselves more than lower seeds and so lower seeds have to fight harder.
