I've seen a video where they also tested the front cam assembly and had the same result. In other words, Apple tied the screen AND the front cam to the board like it ties the home button. Also, if you have the non-original screen and ALS not working, and hot swap the original assembly back, ALS will still not work. You will need to restart the iPhone for the screen and front cam to pair. Same like the iPhone Touch ID. If you restart the iPhone THEN attach the home button, Touch ID will not work until you restart the phone - at least with 5s-6s.
Hallo, habe bei 2 iPhone 8 die Displays ersetzt (original Apple gebraucht aus iCloud-Geräten), siehe da, die automatische Helligkeitsanpassung funktioniert bei beiden Geräten problemlos...
ikopy regelt. Daten aus altem display kopieren und auf neues display schreiben. Soll wohl gehen, noch hab ichs nicht getestet aber ein x und 2 8+ warten schon darauf.
Hi wollte mich mal einmischen, also mir ging es genauso, Display nach Schaden zum örtlichen Reparaturdienst gebracht plötzlich ging mein Helligkeitssensor nicht mehr. Meine Lösung diesbezüglich war einfach, dass ich mich für die die Beta2 von IOS 12 registriert habe und schließlich IOS 12 Beta als neues Betriebssystem verwende der Helligkeitssensor funktioniert wieder einwandfrei.

Michael Wald Ja das ist korrekt. Apple hat den „Fehler“ in iOS 12 wohl behoben.
