Think it this way:
For example: If you need to get to the other side of the room, a Prophet will tell you how to get there. But if you need to get to the other side of the room, and Imam (As) will take your hand and guide you there.

Are without any logic or proofs if u read ur sahih bukhari or muslim or just base it on plain hadith u will know that to be a muslim u HAVE to believe in al mahdi apeven if u do not believe in imams

Imam al Hujjat ibn al Hassan al Qaim al Muntadhar al Mahdi (M.A.H.H.R) is the twelveth successor of prophet Muhammad and the fourteenth infallible.
اللهم صَل على محمد وال محمد وعجل فرجهم وأَلْعَن عدوهم
Ibne Abi Salij Baghdadi (d. 326 AH) a contemporary of the deputies of Imam Mahdi (as) in his book Mawaleedo Wafaatul Aimmah, while narrating the events of 260 AH writes, "At the time of his death, Imam Hasan Askari (as) was survived by this children Mohammed, Musa, Ali, Fatemah and Ayesha."
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَا تُه
There is hadith in the sunni books about the muslims calling on help from other then ALAH and quran also shows that the son asked teh father to ask ALAH for them because the prophet(his father) has a closer position and his prayers are answered
Can I ask you who the 12 imams are according to the Sunnis? And don't say there is no such belief according to the Sunnis because it is mentioned that there will be 12 after prophet Muhammad (sawa) in Bukhari, Muslim, and other collections of hadiths you consider sahih.

just want to ask a few questions, im a sunni brother ive been watching and learning about the shia beliefs, ive seen videos considering misconceptions of shia, i have removed most misconceptions(to be honest i find shia beliefs a little confusing as i every time i ask a question someone would say we dont do this, then i ask another and he admits he does?) however i still find somethings a little exaggerated and i would like someone to clear it up for me,

Firstly prophet ibrahim was a prophet not a messenger after he passed the trials god set before him he was promoted by god from prophet to Imam of the world. I ask u if u reward someone do u promote(increase) or demote(decrease) their rank?

Sunni's can believe what they believe. We have our imams and our sources, in the end that's all we need.
+HeartsOfLight313 the imams were and will never be better than the prophets of Allah please don't ever say that. The 12 imams were good but saying they are better than prophets e.g ibrahim as musa as isa as etc.
