- When we drove from Akagera N.P. in Rwanda to capital Kigali we stumbled upon this local market. It is as African as you can get it: friendly, colorful, noisy and many, many bananas.

I remember the markets, especially on Saturdays, in Uganda during my childhood days in the late 1960's, early 70's. Very similar, buzzing with activity and so lively and just wonderful. The farmers would have been travelling from far and wide, on bicycles, pickup trucks, buses and even on foot. And just like this market, there would be a variety of goods and services for sale. Lovely.

There has to be a time when everyone can get together and help pave the dirt, I know come rainy season that red soil can turn into mud. I love the African market place used to spend hours here as a kid.
