Charlie just said "Until people dont want to hear me" thats not something I personally suggest, because even though "Dangerously" wasnt a big break the internet hit. I can tell he put in some amazing work, because that was an awsome record and people dont make things that move you. He can.

The interview is half an hour but I'm honestly sad that it's over. This interview was so kind and nice but also funny. Some radio stations are rude kinda and interrupt the artists but this was so chill.

I never understood how he speaks so low, but so comfortable in high notes, this is a bit of proof for people that thinks he's a tenor, it may not be true, he's a really skilled baritone.

I LOVE this interview! The interviewer did his homework and got deep into CHARLIE PUTH's mind/thought processes. I wish it was an hour or so longer because this artist is so interesting (I am only beginning to discover him today). Wow.
What I don't understand is what that one guy said at 14:04 about people wanting to know "who the song is about." But why? Why is that so freakin important nowadays? Back in the 80's and early 90's, no body cared who the artists were singing about. We accepted the songs for the creativity and the artists for their artistry and what they meant to us as fans in OUR OWN personal lives.
I am defending the artists with this one. It's nobodies business of their personal lives. If you're a fan of their music then accept their music as just that and leave the artist's personal lives out of it.
When Charlie said that he can't leave his house because of the media stalking him and shit, is hugely disappointing to hear. JUST because they are famous and such, they too deserve to live and enjoy their personal life as well. I know that's saying too much when it comes to the today's world of nosy and the delusional. But, the fans need to step back and see it from the artist's standpoint. Would they want total strangers taking pictures of them, butting into their personal business on a daily basis, and watching their every move? No! They would not! So why do it or expect that from their favorite artists, actors or celebrity for that matter?
I listen to Charlie Puth because of his style of singing and his creativity. And I take his music at face value and nothing more. Every song he writes could be sappy as shit... I wouldn't give two shits! If I like it and it catches my ear, then I'm buying the song and I could care less about his personal life because it's frankly none of my business.
With that said.... Thanks Charlie for being awesome and talented!!

I would LOVE to see K.Flay on one of these interviews. She’s so interesting to listen to and her music is very meaningful.
The guy he looks up to around 24 min is probably John Mayer. He’s a friend of Charlie. He’s a producer and very musical from the instrumental and production standpoints. He’s “worn so many hats” like genres ie country, blues, pop, folk, even jazzy or fusion stuff. Plus Charlie has always loved his music. Puth, to me, is very similar to Mayer. They both put different styles of music into pop and bring complexity to the table. Plus Puth followed the same path. High school all about music, went to a musical college, blew up REALLY fast (your body is a wonderland to see you again), very fast rise to pop stardom, talks about musical complexities in music, self aware, public love life, etc. He seems to be very connected to Mayer. And Puth does talk about Mayer being an inspiration to him. Hell, he still covers John’s songs.
This guy is so passionate about what he does, you can hear it in his answers. Amazing.

Every time I watch an interview of him, I fall more and more in love
I thought maybe he was talking about Max Martin at first (regarding the red key and the red theme of the album) but he made it clear it's an artist. It's definitely Bruno Mars. I bet he got his dream collaboration with him on this album (hence he wouldn't share if there were any collaborations and said the color of the key would make sense when the album comes out). If you watch old interviews he has always said he dreams of collaborating with Bruno Mars and he really admires him and his songwriting. Bruno Mars has also changed hats and done different styles of music successfully. The vibe of this new album definitely reminds me of Bruno Mars. If you look at some old Bruno Mars album artwork there's a lot of red (especially 24K Magic)
Great interview and very informative. As Charlie alludes to, I happen to be a big fan of his, but really, seriously just for his music. I love that he completely geeks about the music composition and production process.
