Such a wonderful choice to go see now that you can return to cinemas! I’m so happy for you, Dylan! I myself have plans to go see this movie this Friday, when I have the day off from work. I saw the first Quiet Place, but not in theaters, and I saw this as a chance to correct that and get to experience this story and world (the one that really takes advantage of the Golden Rule of cinema: “show, “don’t tell”). And I’m especially happy that this movie took advantage of the opportunity to give one of the roles to an actual deaf actor, considering how hard it is for disabled actors to find roles in Hollywood! And I’m especially glad to hear how well the movie is currently performing at the box office!
It was about as good of a movie as I could have picked to return to theaters! Hopefully you enjoyed the movie as well. I was a very big fan of A Quiet Place. A lot of the things I said about this movie apply to the first as well, especially the praise towards the technical aspects of the filmmaking. It was a little strange to me to see that the reception to A Quiet Place (back in 2018) was initially very positive, but by the time the end of the year came around a lot of people said it wasn't all that great. I personally disagreed, but to each their own.
