My boyfriend loves Ludovico. He plays Isaac since vanilla, has many years of experience. I start playing during pandemic on Switch and asked him about every item I've got... And first I've got Ludovico he was like 'hey! That's awesome. Take it!' God... I almost throw the console out of the window. :D Hate that item with passion.
Despite how much you didn’t like this run, I loved it. It’s refreshing getting to see items you never take.

brimstone + ludo is unironically my favorite synergy in the game
So learned a thing, chaos card is affected by your range. Imagine my surprise when I threw the card at a stationary delirium and it hit the ground short…. No bueno. My poor tainted lost run.

Sorry to disappoint, but it wouldn't have worked even if it did hit, because Delirium is immune to Chaos Card.
I once saw a run of Ryan, where he had Ludovico. It was pretty fun and nice to watch. He enjoyed it and so did I.
A short while later I played Isaac myself and got Ludovico for the first time. I was so hyped because I thought ludo was an OP item.
Long story short, I’ll never take Ludovico again, it really sucked because I had abysmal shotspeed…
One of the first times I took ludo I had ipecac thinking it would explode every time it hit an enemy... that run kinda died

With shielded tears, you could just stand inside the tear, and be untouchable, that's how big your tear is when you're close xD
At 2:30 Sin, you talk about why using ludivico is hard. I think your explanation was perfect. I think that by using your explanation and applying it more generally, you can interpolate the nature of why multitasking is hard. You’re a great content creator, and in part I think it’s because you’re great at explaining things in a way that almost anyone can understand.

Whenever I’m feeling really bad at the game I just play Lilith in greedier mode it cheers me back up I just won a run with sacred heart and over 115 damage.
I used to hate Ludovico
Then I've find out that you can use the mouse to control the tear and now is one of my favorite item of the game
21:27, I was half expecting Sinvicta pulling a late April Fools on us by just continuing to chase after that rolling enemy with the tear.
Tear detonator with ludo is fantastic, and if you have the car battery and the one tear affect that makes the tears explode if they go into each other is a fun combo
Fun fact: ipecac and dr fetus at the same time cancels explosion dmg. (As i know)
My favorite combo with Ludovico is azazel, really Carries the range problem that he has

Ludo is super fun. But very item dependent. I’ll never forget my first brimstone + ludo in rebirth. Spoon bender was just icing the cake!
WHAT happened at 15:20 - 15:30. He gets a golden bomb, bombs the secret room, enters the secret room, goes back out the SAME WAY into a different room. Am I missing something?

My best ever run was remote controlled tears, with lump of coal, ipecac, The apple with the razor blade, and a double shot upgrade, among other stuff

usually proptosis is a damage down but you got some range upgardes that it didn’t really matter how close or far you were from the tear
You can actually use the mouse to play with ludovico, making it way easier
I just wanted to say thank you to sinvicta because of your videos and my very lack of experience in issac, I was able to ALMOST take no damage while fighting lamb. It was my first time ever fighting lamb and I remembered how you would fight them and only took 2 hits, so thank you so much.

I am on a Ludovico Technique is Fun Technique train but understand its frustrations. One thing I think it needs is a pretty decent movement buff.

Did anyone else notice when sin entered the super secret room on flooded caves 2, the layout of the room before completely changed when he left? Has curse of the maze always been able to do that?
Yes. To quote the wiki: "Occasionally, discovered rooms can swap contents".
It seems to me to usually pick a pair of rooms with the same door layout and swap them on occasion.
I was kinda hoping you’d take holy water and just stack up sulfur charges for the triple brim ludo tear, would’ve been neat to see!

the rooms are 7 squares up, so a secret room entrance will always be 3 squares from the top or bottom og a room(for when you struggle with the big rooms)
also this means its on the 4th square, theres 3 squares on either side in a regular room
Skinny Odd Mushroom gives you a 0.9x damage multiplier on all damage ups, alongside a -0.38 damage down (checked the wiki).
Doing the math for just Odd Mushroom and Ipecac (Ludo version) alone with this Eden's base stats, you get:
2 (normal damage up from Ipecac with Ludo) × 0.9 (multiplier) = 1.8 (damage up from Ipecac with the mushroom)
2 × 0.9 = 1.8 (cleaner looking equation)
1.8 + 3.6 (his base damage) = 5.4
5.4 - 0.38 (flat damage down from skinny odd) = 5.02
5.02 is his damage with skinny odd and the ludo version of Ipecac. So skinny Odd Mushroom would give him a 0.58 damage down.
3.02 (his tears rate) + 1.7 (the tears up from skinny odd) = 4.72
4.72 (damage ticks per second) × 5.02 (damage per tick) = 23.6944 damage per second with skinny Odd Mushroom
Now without it:
3.6 (base dmg) + 2 (dmg from ludo ipecac) = 5.6 (damage without skinny odd)
3.02 (tears without skinny odd)
3.02 (dmg ticks per second) × 5.6 (dmg per tick) = 16.912 damage per second without skinny Odd Mushroom
23.6944 dps with skinny Odd Mushroom
16.912 dps without skinny Odd Mushroom
16.912 < 23.6944
Damage without skinny Odd is less than damage with skinny Odd in this case. By a large amount. He would have gotten a 6.7824 dps up had he taken skinny Odd Mushroom. And after Synthoil it would have been even bigger.
I went into this confused about the comment under skinny Odd Mushroom, about the damage down doing less the more damage ups you have. Looked it up, found the formula. It's not as bad as it seems, actually. Even with normal damage and tears that's a huge dps up.
3.5 × 2.73 = 9.555 base dps
vs
3.12 × 4.43 = 13.8216 base dps + skinny Odd
It might be worse with things like Soy Milk or if your tears are already almost capped, but on a normal run without a really high tears rate already, it's pretty darn good, and in this case Sin made it harder on himself by not taking it. I know I'll be less hesitant about taking it in the future.

Ludovico is my favourite item, whenever I see it, I always take it. It is always an interesting it to me, regardless of what I had beforehand.

I, for one, fall into the category of "rarely take Ludovico". It's an item that makes _homing_ bad, how messed up is this? And on top of that it has very, _very_ limited synergies with pretty much anything. Sure, it's fun if you have Brimstone, or Tech X, or Mom's Knife... How often do you really get one of those anyway? I wouldn't preshoot a Ludo for an hypothetical chance at getting something which works great with it later. I'd consider it if I already had one good combo item, though.
Ludovico Ipecac used to explode, but they changed that in Afterbirth+. Now it's just a flat damage upgrade.
I hated ludovico until I tried it with mouse controls. Made it WAY easier to use imo
Back when I was new at the game, I always mixed up Polyphemus and Ludovico technique when I saw them on the ground. I'm sure you can tell the major difference between the quality of items there lol

The occasional size fluctuation from Proptosis makes the tear look like it's breathing a bit, and I am not into that at all~

I played the binding of Isaac on steam, and I would use remote play to have one of my friends to play along with me, and we would always hope for Ludovico technique so my friend could control the tear and I could control Isaac, it was always so much fun to play and because of that I have a soft spot for Ludovico

After playing Isaac since Rebirth and getting 1M% on Xbox and Switch, I have a neutral opinion about Ludovico. I don't think it's a bad item but I don't think it's a great item to be happy about, and even so I always pick it up except when I know that it could ruin my sinergies. Many bosses are easier for me to beat with Ludovico, but travelling through normal rooms before the boss can be a little more tedious with Ludovico.
It's not a fan favorite item but it's always helped me a lot more than hurt. If you find Ludovico at the start of a run you have to ask yourself if you want to pick it up or not. It's like a commitment. i mostly only have good experiences with Ludovico while almost everyone else doesn't. Most bad experiences that I see people here have with Ludovico are usually for two reasons:
1. Using Ludovico when they just started playing Isaac, and as such didn't know how to position both their tears and Isaac. Or
2. Getting Ludovico ruined their sinergies without knowing.
Ludovico is just one of the many items in Isaac that you have to know what it does on sinergies, how to use it and ask yourself if it's going to benefit your build or not. Losing the ability to push enemys or bombs is a great deal, and I haven't heard anyone else mention it besides Sinvicta. Completing regular rooms with lots of enemys or very restricted space can suddenly become harder to dodge because of that. You decide for yourself if that risk is worth getting infinite range and spectral/ penetrative (kind of) tears.
Ludivico either makes for the most unique run or the most disappointing run when everything is so great and doesnt synergize lol

Aww I get that you don’t like ludovico but you chose sacred heart when it’s not a good synergy, it’s not a reflection on ludo’s viability, it’s just that sacred heart is good on something that needs homing, ludo is self-controlled homing.

Man do I hate Ludovico. I have quit runs when I picked it up by accident because you're totally screwed with fast-moving enemies.
