Hello, everyone, and welcome back. I'm sorry that I haven't uploaded earlier this month as I should have been doing. A lot of things have been going on, family matters and all that. So with that out of the way, I bring to you the ambience for a classic Zombies map, Nacht Der Untoten. This was featured in an old video of mine that has now been deleted, so I decided to bring it back for, next week, I will be uploading the ambience for another classic map, Verrückt. So, be on a look out for that. I hope you enjoyed this video, and if you did, please share, like comment and subscribe whenever you can. That will be all for today. Until next time, goodbye, my friends.
God, the religious undertone in the earlier maps of the game is so underated. Makes me think they had a way more "realism" sort of approach to the story early on. Just that sort of "God left us/has died" theme, and the references to biblical words like "salvation", or even the pieces of scripture written on the wall in verruckt adds a layer of "what if this is real" kinda thing. Gives off a grandiose feeling of hopelessness. Affects you regardless if you're post-religious, or hell, if you are religious its probably more frightening.
I always had this image of cod zombies in my mind , until they started alerting it by the end of BO2. I wish it mainly revolved around the hopeless WW2 soldiers vs what they have created or have once killed but has been resurrected again . Where the world was literally at war with itself , no external beings or aliens & irrelevant magic.
1:04 sounds nothing like what you might hear in a zombie map, it sounds almost otherwordly, even demonic, which perfectly fits with the lore and exactly what the world got itself into
I think the smith plays put it perfectly "it's like you're on hells doorstep. You aren't quite there, but you can hear it in the distance" and that's exactly the kind of vibe I get from this map
I know this is late, that’s not the chase. 2 of the marines, Smokey and banana, died while Dempsey was captured. Only one, Gunner, managed to escape. Alpha Omega confirms this via document
@@417Owsy he was that’s before they went the whole magic direction I think the original story is the dead came back to life and tank Dempsey and his squad end up in verruckt with the town being burned down in the background and his team dies and he escapes and probably meets up with the rest of the crew
This will always be the scariest zombies map to me. Just something about how dark and desolate it is adds to the simple feeling of horror. I love how they even added some of the ambience from the original version here too.
I always felt like somewhere in The mist was mass graves full of german soldiers, And The strange never ending hum sort of sound was The distant sound of those cold corpses of german soldiers digging themselves up through damp Soil, screaming And yelling as hard as their decomposing lungs could manage like their souls would still Be in The midst of Flames of Hell, And The Air was heavy with The tormented souls of both nazi Killers And their innocent victims who Scream And moan to Be released from Their curse. The atmosphere of nacht der untoten was The best they ever had, verruckt was about equal And other Maps seemed to favour gameplay over The atmosphere
I see what you mean. Though in the story (and there was none to begin with), it was confirmed that a Group 935 convoy was transporting zombies from one facility to the next when the plane crash-landed, and that's how we got here.
I get why he used a Black Ops 3 picture instead of World at War. The dead body is only in the remaster of the map in Black Ops 3 and adds to the creepiness.
i love nacht der untotens atmosphere. its one of the few zombie's maps thats legitimately chilling and quite creepy to play by yourself. i think the small size adds to it honestly. makes you feel claustrophobic, not giving you the wide open areas that other maps allow for easy training.
Cod WaW had a more horror aspect in their first maps than cod has now. Now it just wacky as fuck lol but before there was some legit horror shit to it. It wasn’t all “aliens and zombies” and more to the fact that it was all a mystery. There’s hints and pieces here and there but never a full picture in where these zombies came from and how. Only that, we had to survive. For how long? Thats the question.
It’s Fun 🌝 when your playing with 3 other players with friends or with randoms this map in WAW but while Playing solo 🌚 🗿 its a whole different experience, very eerie and dark with no one else around you, just yourself. Good times. 👌
To this day I wonder.. who was the scream that u can hear in specific moments, it always sounded like a child so I always assumed it was a child screaming
Maybe the distant screams are the ghosts of the holocaust victims that the Nazis slaughtered in the early days of the war is the war over? and why didn't they use the radio to call for help
@@Maximus1879- Or maybe the ghosts of civilians who were caught in the crossfire between the Germans and the Soviets or whoever they were fighting in this area.
@@DrR1cht0f3n but why were they flying in the air were they making a bomb run? They could've add actual ghost appearing from round above 100 as a reward or easter egg, now we can really enjoy the view since repeating yourself killing zombies gets boring
It really jumped the shark once they got all lovecraftian in BO3 and introduced fucking literal dragons and then demigods in Bo4. At least Cold War mostly got rid of the dumb fantasy shit and went back to basics but Vanguard fucked it up again
@@x52wolf12 I'd say cold war did a good balance of fantasy stuff, whilst still having a base horror feeling again. Some of the audio logs you hear of people trapped within the dark aether, going insane are really creepy. And when you're in Die Machine, in the power room with the lights turned off, but you can hear these crazy unsettling whispers, and all you can see of the zombies in the dark are their eyes slowly emerging, it's pretty scary.

None of us really thought of that.
I would've liked to see if they'd continued with that approach as opposed to what we got going on now with the story
Correct
