I can't believe you just convinced me to read The Odyssey, a book that has always been on my 'would be cool to read, but will probably never happen'-list
I love how we have such similar tastes aha! Empire of Gold I am FAR TOO EXCITED about omgggggg 😍🙈 and hey hey thank you scribd and buddy Reading to get us through LotR 😏
Wow we have such similar tastes!! I need an updated audiobook video please! ☺️🤞I loved the Daevabad Trilogy and Winternight Trilogy, and enjoyed Circe very very much. I would highly recommend Spinning Silver and Song of Achilles.
I listened to the audiobook of The Hobbit because of how you talked about it in one of your vlogs. It was AMAZING and made my reading experience so much better!! I’m so glad I listen to you!!
A Frolic Through Fiction I had never read The Hobbit before, so it was a great way to experience it. I can’t wait to read/listen to The Lord of the Rings trilogy the same way!
Really enjoy the way you describe the feeling and experience of listening to these books. You’ve convinced me on all of them! 🤩 (not very hard to do, but still ;) ) Eventhough I’ve read The Hobbit a couple of times and the others were already on my tbr, I’m so excited to listen to them now 💜
i am re-reading the hobbit right now and am finding it very cosy and relaxing, but i think i might switch to the audiobook- you made it sound really fun!
Ever since learning about the synopsis of The Bear and the Nightingale I have wanted to buy and read all three books in the series because it sounds so me! I love that you did fantasy audiobooks recommendations, people don’t tend to talk about these much! 💗✨
I’ve been getting into audiobooks lately because of the Scribd trial and I love them. I have no idea why it’s taken me so long to try reading books this way 😂 I STILL haven’t read Circe so I might listen alongside the physical book! Also your hair/jewellery/outfit combo here is amaze!!
Yaaas use that trial to your advantage!! 🙌🏻 I love audiobooks 😍 definitely worth listening to Circe alongside of you can, her voice is just incredible! And thank you so much!!
Aw thank you!! You HAVE to let me know what you think of The Wren Hunt!! (I say as if I won’t be watching your videos anyway aha) You dooooo omg pls read Circe, she deserves all the love Honestly those audiobooks are the best way to take in the Tolkien books 😍 I’m so glad you liked the video! I’m always hesitant to do recommendation videos because I haven’t read many that aren’t always hyped up so I’m glad it worked out in this one!
The Bear in the Nightingale 😍😍😍 I loved that series SO much!! Also, I’m so behind on the Circe fan-train, but I feel like I still need to pick it up. I’m teaching the Odyssey to my 9th graders right now so I’m in a Greek mythology obsession right now😂
It’s an amazing series! And YES omg I love that you’re teaching Odyssey! I’ve never had classes on Greek mythology besides a random few when I was maybe 6?7? I’ve been teaching myself but your 9th graders probably know more than I do 😂
A Frolic Through Fiction it’s my favorite thing to teach, so I was so disappointed when we had to start teaching it online! I love going through the Hero’s Journey with them, and it just blows their minds when they see that basically every movie they’ve ever seen is mostly structured like the Hero’s Journey 😂😂
Books and Tea with Anna-Marie it’s so fascinating how much is inspired by the old stories without us ever even realising it aha! Natalie Haynes wrote The Ancient Guide to Modern Life based on this and it’s just so interesting
I was already planning on reading 'The Hobbit' soon bc I finished the LotR series this year but now I'm 100% going to listen to it. I never would've even thought of that before. Thank you!!💗
Oooo City of Brass is the daily deal for Audible in the US today! It's only $5.95 so I'm going to snag it. I wasn't too sure but you've totally sold me on it!
Yes! Rob Inglis is amazing. Made me get through the slow bits of LOTR like it was nothing. Those audiobooks are perfect. I'm also really curious about the wren hunt. I love irish folklore so it should be interesting.
That’s good to hear! Many have said there are really slow parts so I was hoping the audiobook would do just that 🙌🏻 The Wren Hunt is amazing 😍 and if you like Celtic mythology (since so closely linked), Witches of Ash and Ruin is a fab book too!
I totally agree with how amazing The City of Brass and Circe audiobooks are. I listened to the audiobook of The Kingdom of Copper, but got the audiobook for CoB the other day when I realised the audio narration is only £3 to add to the ebook - making both less than £5 atm! I even persuaded Sam to get it too 😅 I may have to look into the audiobook for The Odyssey, it does seem the way to read it! I listened to The Diviners last month and would recommend the audiobook for it. It was really well done, but it’s the kind of story you need to read as well as listen to (at least that’s what I felt).
Some intriguing tips, thank you! I always come back to The Memoirs of Lady Trent, first book is A Natural History of Dragons, by Marie Brennan. The narrator is Kate Reading who is perfect for the "older woman reminiscing on her long and adventurous life". Both books and narrator are a delight.
Thanks so much for this!! I’ve recently got into audiobooks so really needed some recommendations, and these all sound amazing! Definitely going to check them out 💗
The Wren Hunt sounds so interesting - I’ve never heard of it before but I will definitely have to add it to my TBR. Goodreads says it is published by Bloomsbury Children’s. Does it read more Middle Grade/YA or does it compare to other fantasy books on this list with more adult themes?
I really appreciated this video! I don’t listen to many audiobooks but I do really want to get into these more especially for large fantasy books (I’m thinking of The Name of the Wind) 😕 I loved Circe and it remains one of my all time faves! And The Wren Hunt sounds very exciting! Definitely want to check that out 😊 btw...where did you get that picture you have in the background? It looks witchy and spiritual - it’s the one with the dark background and a girl on it 😍
Aw I’m glad! They’re defo fab for chunky fantasy reads 🙌🏻 The Wren Hunt is well worth the read, so so good! Hmmm the dark one on the left? I’m not sure as a friend got it me but I can try and find out
Thank you very much for replying 😊 oh no, I don’t want you to ask if your friend got it for you. It’s fine - I shall admire from afar 🥰 The Wren Hunt has been added to my basket 😇
Great video, thank you! I am listening to lots of audiobooks whilst on night shifts. The Winternight trilogy and the Daevabad books are some of my absolute favourites ❤ Have you read the sequel to the Wren Hunt? I am intrigued by them both 😊
@@AFrolicThroughFiction No. Half a King is a YA. The First Law is grim dark adult fantasy that starts with The Blade Itself. Steven Pacey narrates it :)
I can't believe you just convinced me to read The Odyssey, a book that has always been on my 'would be cool to read, but will probably never happen'-list
Omg YES it would be cool and entirely possible 👀
Fantasy?? Hell yes. I think we can all agree we need a little fantasy right now
Fantasy is just the absolute best 🙌🏻
You instantly sold me on Wren Hunt and I have NOT read/listened to that edition/translation of The Odessy! I might have a re-read in my future!
Yaaaaas read it!! Read them both!!
I have city of brass and didn't realise the audiobook was good! Thanks for the rec babe xx
You neeeed to read along with the audiobook Rachael omg it’s so good!
I love the bear and the nightigale triolgy so much
I love how we have such similar tastes aha! Empire of Gold I am FAR TOO EXCITED about omgggggg 😍🙈 and hey hey thank you scribd and buddy Reading to get us through LotR 😏

Aw thank you! I’ll be listening to the audio for Priory when I reread it ☺️
A+ styling of your outfit/look in this vid 💁🏼♀️
Aw thank you!!
The Wren Hunt has been on my TBR for a while now, you may have just convinced me to bump it up a bit!
Omg Beth please do!! I need more people to read it, it’s so under hyped 😭
I LOVED this video. I need more fantasy audiobooks but I never wanted to listen to anything 30+ hours long. These are perfect! Thank you :)
I’m so glad you found something!! 🙌🏻🎉

A Frolic Through Fiction that sounds awesome, I need to look that up! I’m sure it’ll have things I could use in my lessons!
ASSASINS APPRENTICEE my fave 💕💕💕💕 and omg the wren hunt sounds so good. I love very slow books too hahaha
It’s AMAZING!! 🙌🏻🎉 and yes omg pls read it!!
Circe is the most beautiful book I have ever read, and the narrator was so calming 💛
Agreed!!
Immediately catapulted into my all time favourites, a divine experience.
All of the Wayward Children series by Seanan McGuire is available on Scribd as audiobooks and I love them so much.
I listed to the first book last week!
I’m listening to Circe at the moment and you are totally right about the voice. Gorgeous 🧡
I’m glad you’re enjoying it!
I was already planning on reading 'The Hobbit' soon bc I finished the LotR series this year but now I'm 100% going to listen to it. I never would've even thought of that before. Thank you!!💗

I love it when narrators have a specific voice they’re perfect for aha!
I've never been interested in reading Homer but you've convinced me to add it to my TBR.
That’s so exciting!!
I adore your shirt!😍 where did you get it from?
And of course, great video, as always😉
Thank you! It’s from Monki ☺️
Thanks so much for this!! I’ve recently got into audiobooks so really needed some recommendations, and these all sound amazing! Definitely going to check them out 💗
Yayy I hope you love them!!
I'll enjoy Audio Books! Thanks!

It’s YA but the higher age bracket - I think the main character is 18/19?

The sequel is just as good! I’ve read and loved them both 🙌🏻
Thank you so much for the hobbit recommendation! I might make my next tolkien re-read an audio one!
Would definitely be worth it!!
If you ever get to reading The First Law trilogy by Joe Abercrombie you have to listen to the audiobooks. They're amazing!
Is that the Half A King series?
@@AFrolicThroughFiction No. Half a King is a YA. The First Law is grim dark adult fantasy that starts with The Blade Itself. Steven Pacey narrates it :)
Ooooh ok! I’ll check it out thank you!
I’M LISTENING TO THIS SPECIFIC ODYSSEY AHHHHHH
YAAAAAS BISH
Homer and Shakespeare are great as audiobooks! What you said: meant to be heard and not read.
Exactly that!
now i want to read the hobbit!!!
Do it!!
