Because if you check any dictionary, one of the definitions of "bloodbath" pertains to the finance community, where it is an absolutely common term. As in, "The stock market was a boodbath today". Sorry, but people need to break out a dictionary. "The least of it" meant that the auto industry would be the least of the economic bloodbath. Because if you check any dictionary, one of the definitions of "bloodbath" pertains to the finance community, where it is an absolutely common term. As in, "The stock market was a boodbath today". It's usage is so common in that industry that it did in fact make it into the dictionary. Trump is a finance guy, so of course it's a term he might use.
