Hey, if you disregard the massive toxic and radioactive lake in China (Baotau) from the rare earth minerals mining operations and the raw sewage, garbage, and oil dumped into the Pacific by the cargo ships that bring those minerals over here, not to mention the monumental amount of emissions they spew (the seven largest alone produce more greenhouse gasses than all the cars and trucks in the world combined), then electric vehicles and wind turbines are WONDERFUL. Sorry if reality is inconvenient, but with current tech, electric is worse for Terra than domestically-produced gasoline vehicles.

I ride my Zero with no engine braking until I squeeze the brake lever. It's much nicer to coast once you get used to it. Also gives you more control over the regen
I test rode this Zero and though I loved the ride, I HATED the automatic engine braking when riding bumper to bumper and lane-splitting in the city. Your post helps me feel better about the bike for me.

If you really want an electric motorcycle, with a multi-speed transmission. You can get an Empulse TT, and modify it for more power, or, you can get one of your favorite old models of gas bikes, that isn't working, and cut up the crankcase, so you can replace the piston & crankshaft assembly, with one or more electric motors. And weld or blot the transmission portion closed, so it can still hold oil. Then just go along with Benjamin Nelson's playlist here, on how to build an Electric Motorcycle.
In Spain GSX-S 750 is about 8.500€ (9500$ aprox) and Zero SR/F (with premium package 6KW) is 26.685€ (30.000$ aprox) That's why that bike has no chance in my country (and just 250 kms / 150 miles of autonomy)
14:09 you accelerate from 40mph, but the gas bike should not be at 5000rpm, it should be doing much higher rpm, because e-bikes always have the max torque. So the suzy should shift down 2 or 3 gears to make a fair comparison. This video compares the speed, but remember the zero is much more expensive and not an option for long distance trips.
That’s a homing pigeon they use for weddings and I have had some land at my work and catch them to give back to the owner. They should have a tag on its leg.

8:23 I don't know about Zeros, but on enduro ebikes you can have a separate thumb throttle/twist throttle connected to the electric speed controller to control regen.
Regen can in theory produce as much torque, in the reverse direction, as open throttle acceleration can. Since regen is working against the direction of travel wheel slip is a considerable hazard. Rain mode likely reduces the regen torque for safety reasons due to this fact.

Just rode these at a demo. They are amazing and unique. Exactly like they said. Zero bikes make regular motorcycles feel sloppy. Gonna start saving. Will probably take 10 years to afford one.
I ride two but neither are as beefed up as the Zero. The one with the app is the slower bike...for top speed. Off the hop? Whoa. Both accelerate real fast and really quietly. They're fun and awesome to zip around town. Ya gotta try one
Did you ever figure out how to stop it rolling away when parked? I am guessing not, because electric motors don't have compression to overcome to use as a parking brake. Rubber band on front brake maybe lol?
The GSX-S 750 is quite a different bike compared to this GSR 750. I wonder why he didn't ride that one. Pretty much everything is slightly improved and the brakes are massively better. The Zero would still smoke it, though up to 120 mph but the Zero is also much more expensive.

You did ask a good question how do you stop it while on a hill? None of the others testing asked that question...I guess things that need to be said before you end up where you have issues
I don't know what is recommended for the SR/F, however on the previous generation 2014-2019 Zero bikes there is an accessory parking brake kit for sale from Zero Motorcycles that can be installed. Prior to the official parking brake on those models there was for sale a hook and loop strap to use with the front brake lever.
Imagine if there were like different motorcycle profiles. So say you could choose, mt-03, z900, cb650r, zx-6r and you could choose different settings to match other motorcycles. That would be insane

You mean the first gear in a second gear so you can over rev regenerative braking. It would also be like a downshift so you could accelerate harder
