I feel like this is actually one of the movies that's been even close to portraying high school. It was refreshing seeing an actual funny and emotionally relatable movie.
I wasn’t a fan of the trailer and the start of the movie wasn’t anything special to me but it only continually gets better from here. Wound up being my favorite movie of the year. Seriously... if you like this in the very slightest you will love the whole movie
mellamosean well it makes sense to market that that way because Superbad is very popular but it doesn’t seem necessary to compare the two, they’re telling very different stories with very different creative visions, it’s not a sequel (I mean Jonah hill’s sister is one of the two main characters lmfao but that doesn’t count)
@@123TurtlesILove I saw it and it actually wasn't that good. Everyone hyped it up and it just fell short. It was way too cheesy, fake and dragged out for my taste! Glad I didn't pay for it and streamed it free online!

each of the characters in the high school are so hilarious & unique, i'd love to see a Booksmart prequel tv show which focus on their everyday school life
Randomly checked this out last night, funniest movies I’ve seen in years! Also the characters were all actually very well written and Olivia Wilde not only made a good film, but showed strong style and point of view which is rare from comedies. Film almost had an Edgar Wright feel in the way she edited, and utilized sound design.
@@thankyou3849 I don't think Joe is saying it in a bad way. This film isn't that popular and wasn't marketed that well. It seems like the box office for Booksmart is at $9.7m and it's been 1 week so by the end it'll probably be at around $25-40m which isn't bad but doesn't look amazing compare to Aladdin, John Wick 3, etc in the box office.
I just think if you try to break something dont get upset if someone more older than you take it away, why? Would I not get my hopes high this movie moved me totally blew my expectations. my parents are homophobic and i have no friends who’d be interested in watching this movie with me so i had to resort to watching this movie on some sketchy website and i think my laptop has a virus now, but it was so worth it. it’s my new favorite coming-of-age movie besides the perks of being a wallflower.
People have been describing this movie as the "Female Superbad" or alike, but as much as I love Superbad, this movie is on another, upper level. The storyline is great, the cinematography is simply too good, and the soundtracks is so on point it's on the same level as 500 Days of Summer. Not to mention it's funny from start to finish. I can't even pick a single scene/part as my favorite. Oh what a great movie, and I don't usually say it often.
Booksmart is such a great movie and the cinematography is surprisingly good. The writing is on point and most of the jokes land well. Anybody that has experienced High School can relate to certain parts of the film especially if you did take full advantage of that time period. I definitely recommend people watch this movie.
This is hands down one of my all time favorite movies! At first I didn’t have any interest in seeing it after the trailer but wow was I wrong, if you haven’t seen it you need too!!! ❤️
This movie is literally a modern classic comedy. Best comedy I’ve seen since Superbad. I’m going to see it a second time. I recommend it to everyone if you haven’t seen it it’s worth it.
4:15 I think Hope was being genuine and Amy misinterpreted the comment. You'd she's laughing ironically but I don't think that was the case. Still @ 4:26 Amy thinks she's being mean and Hope changes her expression as well
This movie was so hilarious! I saw it with friends a few nights ago. The entire theater was erupting with laughter throughout the whole movie. I give it 10/10 stars:)
Hey for any young people planning on watching this who can't drive yet I encourage you to either get a seat far away from your gaurdian or figure something out with a friend because there's some stuff you wont want to be sitting next to someone while watching.
