I used the Windrunner Shirt with the Cumulus Fleece or the Alpha Grid. For the colder months it is a great combination. The Wolfhound Jacket has the same Windpack Nylon as outer shell.

Tramontane comes from france and italy translated it means wind coming "through the montain" so it s a cold win !!
Looks like the perfect wind breaker to wear over a fleece or jumper on a cold but windy day. Small enough to stuff in to a corner of a pack makes it super versatile.
Definitely. I'd probably go a size over to get a fleece under though. Really good for that though
Got mine today and very happy with it. Today is the weather just for it in Estonia. Saved me from chilly wind. Looks like it is too popular, as all the common colors are missing for my size(L), had to order flektarn, but this is cool camo, so i don't mind.

Helikon makes nice stuff, got the wolfhound, think it’s the same with isolation added, like your windbreaker and a thin but warm fleece added as a filling. Also packable, even comes with a little nylon bag with a drawcord to pack it in. Nice video!

Yes it’s a good windbreaker but your video was way much better . The windbreaker didn’t make me stop the video at certain points to see the certain bit on the clip I wanted to watch a couple of times .🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂 thank you , you have no idea how much that was needed . 👍👍👍🐾❤️

I have one in the same colour, and whilst I like it, overall I much prefer their Windrunner one as it has more pockets. To be honest I only bought the Tremontane as I wanted desert night camo and the Windrunner was out of stock in that colour. Sod’s Law about a month after I purchased it, the Windrunner became in stock in Desert Night Camo!!
I did look at the Wind Runner. I like the ripstop material however the full zip sold this to me completely... Oh, and that DNC too 😂
@@MoorlanderEDC if I wasn’t about twenty sizes bigger than you I’d lend it to you for review purposes, but it is very similar apart from the full zip and the chest pocket.

Looking at the sizes for this jacket im more inclined to go with a SIZE XL, do to the fact we have about the same size and build and this looks to be on the smaller side where as i plan to use it for layering. It just looks like you might tear it just by flexing in the wrong direction, i cant condone any of that especially at the price point beacuse of the shipping cost to my country it would be a expensive replacement. I have heard these jackets tend to run smaller on some of their sizes so i went a size up. Waiting to see if it works out once i receive it.
EDIT: So i received the jackets and i have to say they fit right but a tiny bit small for being XL:Euro size which translates to L: American. That being said i wish i would of known that i cant really layer underneath it, i would of gone with XXL. Anyone who sees this and is 6 ft on the tall side and 225 or more pounds go with a 2XL or even 3XL thank me later.

Nice review. I have one question. How is the stitch quality? Another review channel has nothing good to say about the stitching of helikon tex in general.
Oh seriously? I've not had any issues at all. The stitching on this is perfect. The only issues I've ever had with Helikon Tex is the buttons on their button flies. They always fall off 😂... Just had a really good look over it an ld the stitching is great. No lose end at all 👍

I'm considering buying one, Can I use it as a weather layer ? I'm searching for something light and compact to wear over or under my Uniform to protect me, mostly from Rain and wind, that isn't Gore-Tex.

Yes definitely. I run in mine in the winter. Helps with light rain and even keeps my warmer when it's windy 🙏
What will be more windproof in Helikon lineup? i think about good wind/snow insulation light jacket to wear over my fleece jacket.

@@EXTRAEDC yes so have I but didn't hear anything back either. I was at IWA this year and the guys from ePig Group were there talking to them and they seem to be crushing the Helikon stuff recently. I might see if I can have a meet up with this at IWA next year

Thanks for the review, but what worries me is the resistance against a moderate rain..
Yes, it's not the thickest. It'll keep you dry for a good 20 minutes whilst you get to somewhere to get out of the rain. I've recently made some content on the Arktis Stowaway Shirt. It's very similar (more of an over the head anorak than a zip jacket though) and will keep you dry for a lot longer.
