Great video, I've just bought one of these gems and should have it soon. I've previously owned a Yaesu FRG-7700, FRG-100 and currently own a Kenwood QR-666 and Icom IC-R75, plus Sony ICF-7600 and ICF-SW77. I reckon I might try to snag an NRD-535D as well, always wanted one.
@@LiquidAudio I have had the 535. It was in perfect condition and it worked well, but I just did not like it. It was just too computerish if that is a correct term. I was much more happy with the 525. In fact, if you look back through my videos, you can see a video of my old 535. I think I compared it to some other radio at the time. Thanks for your comments
@@dieselten01 Thank you, I may have seen that video I think. Really glad to hear you prefer the 525, I chose it as it was the 'underdog' in being older / less advanced, but as you say, I may also prefer it for that reason.
I think my NRD-515 would be the last radio I would ever sell. All my other JRC radios, including the 545 are all gone. I call my 515 the triple hitter, as I have the radio with all options including the memory unit and the Remote Keypad... The tunable RF preselector for the AM broadcast band is just a jewel!!!! These JRC radios had many unique features and stood out in the world of radios.. Nice selection.... Robert
@@redsky1433 thank you. It seems every radio from ebay gets whacked in shipping. The Teletron E712 I just did a video on came all the way from Germany to me in Texas and it was perfect upon arrival.
I just got one as well, dirty also, looks like it sat outside, it works well hard to belive, cleaned it up and looks new, and yea Chuck hope you get the Anritsu going, whatever, Matt
6180 and 6185khz test pretty impressive for that 3rd order mixing they reckon is a telling test for any decent hf receiver in real world conditions, probably why you don't see many of these on sale?
Wow!!!Some great radio. One of the great gen purpose comms' receiver. Thanks for sharing your video.
I’ve had my JRC 545 for 17
years now and it’s working brilliant just as good as the day I got it 👍🇬🇧

Good job! Your perseverance paid off! It's a bit mad how the buttons got mashed in.

@@istein2 I am not a fan of the UA-cam videos where people just show a radio in the “on” position. Too boring. Gotta add something
J'ai la même le problème c'est que j'ai les boutons qui s'effacent😢
Lovely JRC Nick - does it have the vhf/uhf card installed?
@@hercsie no. Just plain base model. No extra cards or extra filters
