Great to see Hillsdale Mall again. I first visited the mall in 1983. The two main levels are basically the same, just different decor from a remodel in the late 1990s and different stores of course. I see the old Emporium Capwell store has been demolished and a new entryway built. There was a Sears, Mervyn's and even a supermarket called Petrini's back in the 80s. One store that has survived and is still in it's original 1983 location is Edwards Lugage on the first level near Nordstroms. The mall always had a good reputation for being safe and family friendly, I can see that hasn't changed.
I used to live near that mall about 20 years ago when I was a tween/teen. I even worked at a store in the mall for a time. Thanks for an update of what it is like now! Another favorite place of mine was on El Camino Real toward downtown San Mateo.

The mall has had multiple additions over time and now has an outdoor terrace. Blending the original with the new.
