Track of Hurricane Lee (2023)

Hurricane Lee was a long-lived major hurricane in the open Atlantic that became the strongest Atlantic hurricane in 2023, which became the sole Category 5 hurricane of the season. Lee maintained a high intensity for a very long period of time, allowing it to generate copious amounts of Accumulated Cyclone Energy (ACE). As it weakened, it headed towards New England and Atlantic Canada where it became a hurricane-force extratropical cyclone, with a large tropical storm-force wind field. Lee's overall impacts were moderate, causing $80 million in damages and 4 deaths.
