Awesome video and well explained. I've stumbled upon a few of your videos in the past when trying to understand topics I am reading at the moment and they have been super helpful! I love the way you record outside and the way you simplify and explain complex chapters. I noticed that you haven't uploaded in a year or so now and its a shame because you're a brilliant help with all things philosophy. Keep up the good work and wishing you the best !
thank you for the videos, I'm reading the problem of philosophy and when ever a chapter is not so clear, I watch your videos they're so clear and understandable
@@jackmunson6066 Well, I hate to sound cagey, but what I believe is irrelevant. I tell my students: there are two possibilities. Either (i) you agree with me or (ii) you disagree with me. If you agree with me, you think, “Hey, that really smart guy who has studied this topic agrees with me. I must be right.” And you stop thinking about the topic. If you disagree with me, you think, “That guy disagrees with me. He must not know what he is talking about.” And you stop thinking about it. Either way, that defeats my purposes. I will not tell you what to believe-or, what I believe. I will tell you your price. And every belief has a price.
@@haugenmetaphilosophy Well I can understand your precaution as a teacher not wanting your students to fall into this fallacious line of reasoning, it's a bit problematic to think that way according to the possibilities you have given, at any rate, I believe you should check out a religion called Islam, and this guy called Mohamed hijab, he's very much into philosophy as much as we both are, that's where I was going for with my question earlier, your videos are great and they're very informative and simplified, keep doing what you're doing professor! and thank you
