Very nice. One question: Which are the spectral bands specifications?

Please explain briefly the different MODIS data given in USGS earth explorer with their applications. A long list of data sets given in LP DAAC without a background information is sure to confuse a beginner. A brief explanation of all these data is essential.

      Hi Abdullah,
Thank you for your message. If you go to the LP DAAC's collection overview link: lpdaac.usgs.gov/data/get-started-data/collection-overview/, and click on the MODIS Overview, you'll find some brief descriptions and data resource information for MODIS. If you are still having questions, please feel free to email us at support@earthdata.nasa.gov and we will be sure to put you in contact with the LP DAAC for further explanation and guidance.

      Good afternoon Dr. Khan,
I would suggest sending your inquiries to support@earthdata.nasa.gov. For Chlorophyll-a or CDOM data inquiries, you might want to contact NASA's Ocean Biology Distributed Active Archive Center (OB.DAAC). Learn more at oceancolor.gsfc.nasa.gov. For LST data, NASA's Land Processes DAAC manages, archives and distributes these datasets. lpdaac.usgs.gov

I'm baffled as to why these guys chose to use the most arcane projection there is and then delivered the data in a format that is both obsolete and hard to process using usual data processing tools (HDF4).
It's as if they want to make the life of researchers as difficult as possible!
