Another excellent commentary. Agree on all points. The Mazda exterior and interior are just pure art. The Civic does though have a great alternative to all that piano black and it looks pretty good. Another thing with the 1.5T Civic is that it actually gets rather course sounding at high revs versus the Mazda na 2.5. I think the Honda na 2.0 actually sounds pretty good all the the way out. Team Mazda here but still like that Civic. Great that each car is good in its own way and offers variety of choice depending on priorities.
Honda lost it's way 10-20 years ago, & today is just a company producing average vehicles & riding on an outdated nostalgic reputation. In that same span of time, Mazda did the opposite & made a lot of great strides towards becoming a near-luxury, high-quality Japanese brand.
