I've been having this issue for 3 years since I bought my S10 and it's been having dead tachometer dead speedo flickering lights and with this it fixed it all !!!!
Awesome happy I could help and that you got it fixed 👍 Tempted to just put regular battery terminals on the cables and get a regular post battery
Hey buddy, you know if you take the negative terminal off first, it can just ground with any metal in your vehicle. Completing the connection. That's why you should always take the positive terminal off first because if it touches anything besides the positive battery terminal it can't have power. Not that any of this matters unless you touch positive to negative terminals with a ratchet or any metal...don't do that.
With cars I was always taught disconnect negative first as this lessens any chance for a spark to be made. Safest is probably negative then put end of terminal in a rag so can't touch anything then disconnect positive
Wrong
Thanks man!
You're welcome, happy to help! 👍
Thanks bro..I got a 04 avalanche
That I just bought battery and new side posts for

Nice video bro🙏✨question, can I change the type of terminal for my battery? I have same as you, but I was wondering if I could cut them and use the other type of terminal? Thank you for your time, keep on going 🙏and sorry my english is not so good
Yes you could put normal terminal ends on 👍
Thanks bra!
You're welcome! 🤙
Surprisingly, Advance didn't have these, so I got mine from O'Reillys
Nice! Glad you found some and got it done 👍
@JonnyDIY I've yet to slap it on. The other one broke on me so I knew I had to replace it.
👍👍👍
Do you have to replace the rubber too?
No just the bolts 👍
The way he jumped in golden 😂😂💪🏾
Lol thanks, it's my signature intro haha 😄
Take a look at GM style side post Better Battery Bolt.
Cool will do 👍
My negative terminal 8mm was stripped and it does come off. What should I do? I wanted to replace them too. Thanks,
Try removing with some locking vice grip pliers like I used in video. Should be able clamp down real tight and remove it 👍
Thanks, it worked!
@@mynorm.mendoza3683 Awesome! Glad you got it done 👍
how did you remove the bolt?
Wrench. And vice grips to pull out of rubber sleeve. I show it all in video 👍
How to install side mount disconnect switch
I would add the threaded stud with terminal post on end and add a knife switch to it.
thanks mines was starting to strip and was hoping i didn't need to replace the whole cable
You're welcome, glad I could help you out 👍
@@JonnyDIY now do I need a whole new battery or just the bolt 🔩
@@adamweimer3132 youll need to test the battery to see if its still good or not. Use a multimeter if you have one. If not local auto stores can do a load test and check health of battery. If battery health is less than 25% I'd replace 👍
@@JonnyDIY thanks man God bless
@@adamweimer3132 you're welcome, happy to help 👍 good luck
Still can't jump my side-post battery.
They make some like this that allow you to jump or charge easier. amzn.to/31yogTX
If you’d use a 6point socket you wouldn’t have to worry about stripping the head
Correct. I used 6 point wrench, my socket wouldn't fit. Battery side terminal ratcheting wrench works great too 👍
@@JonnyDIY yeah man I actually changed mine out to a bolt/nut basically like a stud
@@TheUndertoe Ohh nice, yeah these side posts really were a bad design in my opinion. I've have connection issues with them in the past
@@JonnyDIY yeah I don’t like em I have my wires separated with thier own ring terminal now instead of in one big terminal like the factory had it
C'mon now, getting them out is no prob, getting the posts back in the cover is my current dilemma, and you just cut it up to get it in? Thumbs-down : (
I screwed them back in the rubber cover with the locking vice grips just as I removed them. One of the rubber ends was already damaged before starting this job
Some grease on the rubber will help get it back in too 👍
@@JonnyDIYthat’s why my terminals have grease on em 😂😂😂😂 I was wiping and wiping for so long till I gave up and used vinegar and baking soda cause the grease wouldn’t let it make good contact 😂 whoever did my terminals before had a rough time getting them in I see
@@gaigebarker187 if you use Dielectric grease it doesn't affect the connection and helps avoid some acid build up. But clean dry contacts are good too. Hopefully you got it working again 👍
