Revelation 20 - The Great White Throne Judgment & 2nd Resurrection Explained in 7 Points

- What will happen to the many men, women, and even children who have died without fully knowing or understanding the truth of the Bible and God’s way of life?
Is there any hope for them or are they all just lost forever?
The Bible actually shows that these individuals will be resurrected. They will be raised back to physical life to be judged in what is described as the Great White Throne Judgment.
This is the second resurrection. And this is an incredible part of God’s plan of salvation that gives genuine hope for those many thought were lost forever!
So in this video, we’ll explain what the Bible says about the Second Resurrection and the Great White Throne Judgment in 7 simple points.
Be sure to stick around for all 7, and remember, don’t just believe us, but look up these verses and prove this for yourself from the pages of your own Bible!
The Second Resurrection and Great White Throne Judgment are mentioned in several places in the Bible.
The most notable place is Revelation 20:11-14. The Apostle John wrote what he saw in vision…
“I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it... And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened... And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades (or, the grave) delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works.”
Point #1: This is clearly describing a resurrection.
Note that it says, “I saw the dead… standing before God… and the dead were judged… and Death and Hades (or, the grave) delivered up the dead… and they were judged.”
This clearly shows that the dead will be resurrected back to life for judgment.
Point #2: The Second resurrection occurs 1000 years after the First Resurrection.
The First Resurrection is described a little earlier in verses 4-6, which says, “I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them… And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.”
Verses 5 and 6 clearly explain that “This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection.”
But notice the beginning of verse 5, it says, “But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. ”
Clearly there are 2 different resurrections described here!
Faithful Christians will be resurrected at the beginning of the millennium, when Christ returns, which is the first resurrection. But “the rest of the dead” will be raised to life at the end of the thousand years at the second resurrection.
Point #3: This is a resurrection back to physical life.
Those who are raised in the First Resurrection will be raised as immortal spirit beings with eternal life. The Apostle Paul described the First Resurrection in 1 Corinthians 15. He said,
“Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God… For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible… For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality… then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: ‘Death is swallowed up in victory.’”
Revelation 20:6 says, “Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power…”
This is why it is called “the better resurrection” (Heb. 11:35)
Those Christians who died in the faith, along with those still alive at Christ's return, will be raised to life and transformed into immortal Children of God who can never die. (1 Cor 15, Rom 6:23)
But the Second Resurrection is a resurrection back to physical life.
Those in the Second Resurrection will be subject to death.
Ezekiel 37 describes this physical resurrection in more detail:
In a vision, Ezekiel was set, “in the midst of [a] valley; and it was full of bones…” And, “there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry [in other words, they had been dead for a long time].” The passage continues, and “He said to me, ‘Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O bones, hear the word of the LORD!’... ‘Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live. I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live… and… the bones came together, bone to bone… the sinews and the flesh came upon them, and the skin covered them over… and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet…”
So we see this is a resurrection back to physical life.
Point #4: This is a time of judgment.
The First Resurrection is the hope of faithful Christians who are being judged now. If they faithfully endure to the end (Matt. 10:22), they will receive salvation and be raised to eternal life, not to another judgment.
The Second Resurrection on the other hand is a time in which those who are raised will be “judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.”

The evil one is basically telling people they can die in their sins because at the Judgement they can accept Jesus Christ and be saved. Notwithstanding that death seals a person's fate, if their names aren't written in the book of life BEFORE they die then there is no hope for them.
Everyone would repent at the judgement if they spent years, centuries, and even millenia waiting in hell.

Yes, those who are saved since Creation until the last battle when Christ returns at the end of the thousand years , are written in the Lambs book of Life.
But the Great White Throne is only for the lost to be judged according to their works because they rejected Christ while alive.

Eze 37:11-14 Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts. Therefore, prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. Good information! But one thing I must point out is the statement, "Faithful Christians will be resurrected at the beginning of the millennium"... This happens at Christ’s return (as you state below this), which is the beginning of the Great Tribulation, not the beginning of the millennium.
Also note that, according to Revelation, "books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books." I believe the "books" are the books of life, which contains everything we have done in our lives.

In point 6 you say this isn’t a “second chance” but I believe that’s exactly what you’re implying if we believe what Paul is saying in Romans 1:20.

We are the generation discussed in this part of the bible
Anyone reading the signs that Jesus told us to watch out for knows we are in the 'last days'...the period that will bring the great tribulations and when we must lift up our hearts knowing that the completion of God's work is being fulfilled. In an electromagnetic universe things must be organised very differently to how they are today and to reinforce this God has decided that we must witness the full force of the antiChrist whilst being protected by His/God's righteous word...as taught by Jesus Christ. The fact is that our electromagnetic spirit cannot be destroyed and will have to live somewhere...be it on a new paradise Earth or the alternative.

He gave you the scriptures he used in the video. Go back and watch it again and write them down and look them up in your own Bible. Then believe what the scriptures plainly state.

@@KelvinCain It is a logical conclusion when you put all the scriptures together. Watch it over again. It is not hard to follow or understand. Just don't go into the video with preconceived ideas about what you think the Bible says on the matter. It will come to you easily if you do that.

what about the people who knew about salvation through Jesus but were either Luke warm, atheist or chose not to follow do they resurrect during the first or second resurrection?
Matthew 27:50-53. This clearly shows the raising of the saints / holy people right after Jesus gave up his spirit. And after Jesus' resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many people.
in 2nd resurrection, are those resurrected will have memory of the past life? Are they going to be born as a baby again or the same as they died? I need answers... tnx...

I think you have an interesting view, but a chance of salvation through the blood of Christ, I doubt since who would reject the blood when standing before YHWH? We are "predestined" as His children, heirs with Christ, I would think there is a different existence and use for these people in God's plan.

I truly believe once people realize God is the creator and ruler most will! Sadly there may be a few that want! But let’s hope that number is extremely small !
so the 2nd resurrection « recycles » the souls? every baby born is a soul resurrected and given 2nd chance ? what if they die early and never get to experience the 2nd chance?
Ezekiel 37 talks figuratively about Israel that it will become a nation again and nothing about resurrection.
I think the point of the great white throne judgment is to judge the Dead who possibly never heard of Jesus but also to judge the people who are still mortal that was in the millennium Kingdom because remember if all faithful Christians have been resurrected and put on incorruption then how can Satan tempt them at the end of the thousand years it has to be talkin about those who are not found worthy to rule with Christ but are given an opportunity to still be a citizens in the kingdom and live for a thousand years then they will be judge based on their own works and no longer have the blood of Jesus to cover their sins which makes sense why those who take part in the first resurrection are blessed because we have the gift of salvation up until Jesus comes back
you are finally one of the first one that gets it on this thread. the ones during the millennium will still have to accept Christ, but in an actual/physical way. They will have to obey Him during the millennium and all the laws and festivals that Christ has in place during the millennium.

I do not like this video at all, the Great White throne Judgement is for the condemned. Ones who rejected Jesus and his free gift of salvation. If you die with your sins, you will be in Hell. (Romans 3:20)Judged by the LAW. No 2nd chances once you die. However below is the good news to get salvation.
(Mark 1:15)"Repent" simply means "Change of Mind". You change your mind about whom will save you from Death aka Hell or Gods Wrath. (Romans 3:10) Nothing we as sinners can do can save us, we all fall short to the glory of God. (Isaiah 64:6) Our righteousness is like filthy rags to God. Turning from sin is impossible for us since we are sinners, and will unfortunately sin until death. (Romans 3:25-26) No other blood sacrifice will be acceptable to be righteous before God. (Romans 6:23)Sin is death, and what separates us from God at our physical birth.
That is why we are in need of a Savior, Lord Jesus. (John 3:16) Believe only in Jesus Christ (The only son of God) as your Savior, and his finished gospel work (he died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead on the 3rd day) on the cross and you WILL BE SAVED (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) This can be done in the quietness of your own self.
(Ephesians 2:8-9)That is Salvation, it's a free gift offered by God through faith alone (NO WORKS). (Romans 10:9-10)
That is the Gospel (The good News) of Jesus Christ.
I'm not sure to understand fully. Are those alive during Christ second presence and the beginning of 1000 must go to heavens, in a spiritual body?. And are these will come back into a physical body on earth? Why going in heaven if the end is to live on earth?
Serious question: this video declares the essential truth. The majority of evangelical (good news?) and fundamentalist churches preach eternal conscious torment (ETC) in an eternal hell almost every Sunday and during the week in Bible studies across this land.
So, then, where do you all go to church? How do you find meaningful fellowship with real brothers and sisters?
I would like to learn more of the events in the second resurrection. What else will transpire except that the wicked will be resurrected to damnation?
Here's my understanding (scripturural). The first resurrection is only for those that were beheaded for not taking the mark during the coming tribulation. The second resurrection is for everyone else (saved and not saved)... In other words, most people that have ever lived, will be resurrected AFTER the 1000 years.
See verse five below "But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years had finished". To clarify, the last sentence, where it says "This is the first resurrection" refers to verse four. Verse 6 continues discussing the first resurrection.
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
After the second resurrection, after the 1000 years, the saved and unsaved will stand before God during the Great White Throne judgement. The books will be opened. If a person's name isn't found in the Book of Life then they will be part of the second death. If it is in the Book of Life, they'll live in heaven with God.
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

The "books" aren't necessarily the Holy Bible. Many interpret these "books" to simply be a record of all deeds done while on earth. Every human has a record of their deeds and unless your name is written in the "Lamb's Book of Life" you will be judged by your deeds which are written in multiple books. Again, not necessarily the Bible. Even the Book of Enoch states "The judgment of all is ordained and written on the heavenly tables in righteousness-even the judgment of all who depart from the path which is ordained for them to walk in; and if they don’t walk in that path, judgment is written down for every creature and for every kind. I understand this is extra biblical literature, however it lines up with scripture and, I believe, gives a better understanding of what these "books that are opened" really are. Not the Bible, but recordings of all our deeds throughout our lifetime. If our name is in the Book of Life, we are covered in the blood of Christ and not judged by our deeds. Everyone else is judged by their deeds and then cast into outer darkness. Hell is not the same for everyone. Just as heaven/eternal kingdom of God will have people there who have more rewards than others, Hell will also have levels of punishment. Many of Jesus' parables describe this, and your own video explains how the judgment will be worse for some cities than for others.
Not sure where you get the idea that the dead will be given 100 more years to get it right and accept Jesus, but that it's not a "second chance". This sounds similar to the idea of those "left behind" getting a second chance during a 7 year tribulation. It might make us feel good, but it's all fiction and Hollywood fantasy stories that sell books and movies. Revelation 20 clearly states that ANYONE whose name is not written in the Lamb's Book of Life at this point is thrown into the Lake of Fire. Some teach that the Millennial Reign of Christ is the time described in Isaiah, not the Great White Throne Judgement. It also says that Satan is cast into the Lake of Fire at this point, where the Beast and False Prophet still are, after 1,000 years, where they will be tormented day and night, forever. Those whose names are not recorded in the Book of Life are ALSO thrown into this lake of fire, so to infer that they won't suffer forever would simply be speculation. I think we error greatly when we think we are connecting dots correctly and making assumptions about scripture that aren't explicitly stated. What we do know about God is he is fair and we can assume that he would not cast anyone into the eternal lake of fire unless they had been given a chance to know his Son, Jesus Christ. That's ALL we should assume. How he does this is not stated in scripture, but it happens in this lifetime...not after. No second chances anywhere in scripture...not even at the Great White Throne Judgment. At this point, it's judgment day and it's over.
Like I have asked time and time again, does this mean people like Hitler and Stalin get this "first chance" too? They will get a chance at everlasting life despite their atrocities? Sorry but if you believe this teaching you are lost. Eternal punishment is very real and how you act while you live will determine your future. There are no second or "first chances" after you die.
No they will be raised at the Great White Throne Judgement. They will be judged by their works. The ones who never knew about Jesus will have an opportunity to learn. The ones that are not teachable will be thrown in to the burning pit to be destroyed

See I think when it says "the rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended", it's a reversal of Adam in Genesis. It said "in the day you eat from it you will die", and yet he lived to 930 years. However, he didn't make it past 1,000 (a day from God's pov), and also could be seen as him being as good as dead in the day he eats from it. He started dying, or was dead in God's eyes. Or a spiritual death of sorts akin to Romans 6:1-4. It's like when we describe nice food to someone who's never tried it and say "you've never eaten [blank], you've not lived until you've tried it!" Similarly, the resurrected dead aren't considered truly living until the thousand years have ended.
In other words, the rest of the dead (that have already been raised during the thousand years) aren't truly seen as coming to life until the thousand years have ended, and after they have received a positive judgement.
Why do I think the dead will be raised earlier? Well Daniel 12 Is quite clear. It describes some periods of time. 3.5 times (1260 days), then 1290 days, then 1335 days. It says anyone arriving at the 1335 day marker is happy, and then proceeds to tell Daniel that he will stand up for his lot at the end of those days, that is, the end of the 1335 days.
If we sync this passage up with Revelation 11, the two witnesses are raised to life 3.5 days after the 1260 day period, right before the 7th trumpet (the last trumpet, when those of the first resurrection change in the twinkling of an eye). So on the prophetic timeline, I would understand it as, 1260 days for the trampling of Jerusalem, the 1264th day is when the first resurrection occurs, then the 7 plagues occur during the next 26 days, then 1290th day is Armageddon, then 45 days later on the 1335rd Day, the earthly resurrection begins. If resurrected ones decide to continue in badness, then they won't make it past 100 (Isaiah 65:20), but if they want help, they'll keep living, being guided to streams of life. Then at the end of the thousand years Is the final test, when Satan is let out of his prison, and anyone on the earth surviving past this (the ones not taking part in the rebellion), will then be considered as raised to life.
God is the ultimate redeemer and author of salvation. I believe he redeemed people before Christ. Not sure they will have to declare once resurrected. I think they will already know. Take for example Abraham, Moses and David. I think they all saw the future without being there. I've always taken the Isaiah verse to be in the context of the millennial reign.

Concerning the only verse (Isaiah65:20) given about the probable duration of the Great White Throne Judgement Day I have these comments,
The New International Version rendering is:
20 “Never again will there be in it
an infant who lives but a few days,
or an old man who does not live out his years;
the one who dies at a hundred
will be thought a mere child;
the one who fails to reach[a] a hundred
will be considered accursed.
In other words, people will most likely last a lot longer than 100, so much so that if you died at 90 or 100 (considered a good old age today) during that time it will be considered like someone dieing nowadays at say 17 or 35 (Gee, I wonder what he died of - he was so young!).
Not saying they will last as long as Adam,
but wouldn't be surprised if talking about 350-400 y/o life spans. God reduced it after the Flood - He can increase it if needed.
The other thing I would point out is that this period of time is referred to in God's Holy Days as The Last Great Day. Isn't a day for God as 1000 yrs for man?
So are we saying that the other days in God's Plan are 1000 yrs but the Last Great (as in really GREAT) Day is just 100 yrs?

If the above is correct, then you could also say that all the dead will be resurrected in the same day but not necessarily at the same hour of that day! We're taking a lot of people for - 100yrs?

So it just reinforces the view that the verse used in the video doesn't really seem to indicate a lifespan during this resurrection period averaging 100yrs. Quite frankly, it seems to be indicating just the opposite - that 100 years is a little thing during this time.
I've tried to see it in the verse provided but it's just not there which is why I think that the otherwise excellent presentation is lacking in this regard (in regards as to how long the 2nd resurrection period is). They should provide more back-up scriptures in any event - because what if they're right? What I'm getting at is the verse they provide simply doesn't seem to correlate - just the contrary if you read closely. And the😊 scripture you provide (Isa.65:22) seems to indicated quite a looooong life!

I"ve thought the same; perhaps people will be resurrected in families over a period of 1,000 years, beginning with those who lived the earliest. It will be exciting to find out the details of how God will arrange this wonderful time and how long it will last.
I guess there are details in God's plan that we can't know for certain at this time but we ought to be greatful for what He has revealed so far (and some details probably wouldn't be understood, like trying to explain TV, Cellphones etc to someone from 1620 - they really wouldn't understand. Some things you have to see and live to actually get it) and comforted with the promises that in the future all will know what the most knowledgeable do now and so much more and the end result will be full of joy as indicated by these verses:

The first resurrection happens in one go just before Jesus' second coming to rule and reign on earth for 1000 years. The second resurrection happens AFTER the 1000 yr reign, just before the earth is destroyed and a New Heaven and New earth is created. The Isaiah verse I believe is talking about life during the 1st resurrection 1000 years. So I don't think it has anything to do with how long these 2nd ressurectioners take to either "get to know Jesus" or "come alive again".
Because the 2nd resurrection happens just before earth is destroyed, I personally don't think this resurrection period will take long.

One question Ive never been able to get answered: is the first resurrection only for the 144,000?
If so then it seems those who didnt make the "cut" would be in the second or third. Since the second resurrection isnt a 2nd chance and only for those who didnt know the truth, where do the faithful Christians (or those struggling) who aren't part of the 144k fit in?
Here's my understanding on this. The first resurrection is for the people (could be what the Bible refers to as the 144,000) that were beheaded during the tribulation (didn't worship the beast, image or receive the mark). Rev 20: 4-6 says: 4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
Everyone else will be resurrected during the second resurrection, after the thousand years, believers and non-believers. They'll be part of the Great White Throne judgement. Christians will be found in the Book of Life. There are only two resurrections as far as I know.
