- I’ve been a user of Fine aftershaves for years now, but this is the first time I try out one of their razors. They are about to release this razor and gave me a chance at an advance look. Thanks to all of you on social media for voting for me to try it out.

Thanks for posting. The design looks like the closest thing I've seen to a razor that actually helps find that perfect angle so much easier. Interesting you found it great under the nose, an area I tend to overdo in search for perfection.

@@kensurfs I've used this razor with an Astra blade twice and it cut me up good. Gonna try the sword blades next. Astra has been my go to blade for several years and I'm disappointed with them lately.

Great shave Ken. I thought I heard Monty the dog at the door before the delivery man showed up. I hope you give him a treat for his birthday today. My next shave will be with a DE safety razor. I've already done 2 shave videos. 1 with a straight razor and the other was with the new Razorine shavette which uses an entire DE blade.

I had the chance to try the Marvel razor issued to the French UA-camr Filslade. This is a really nice razor. The handle has a nice grip but is pretty comfortable in hand. The razor is not super heavy but it does feel right in the hand. I like the chrome finish on it, it is really shiny and smooth.
The blade fits tightly in the head. I was surprised by the blade exposure. It seems like a lot but the razor performed well and I did not find it that aggressive. I would say it is more of a medium aggressiveness. The razor is efficient but smooth. I like how razor makers now spend time really trying to put out comfortable razors. The angle is fairly intuitive, it only takes a few seconds to find the right angle.
My only criticism I have on this razor was for removing the blade after the shave. The blade was stuck in the head. I used a Nacet and it could have been the blade and not the razor. Regardless, I will be getting this razor

Hi Ken. That looks to be a really nice razor. It seems that the flat head leads you to place the angled part of the razor directly on the face to get the optimum angle. It looks really interesting.

Thanks for another great video Ken. I'll bet after that rumour about TOB's possible discontinuation of the Grapefruit cream, sales will sky rocket. It's certainly my favourite from their range. BTW is Monty named after Monty Python, General Bernard Montgomery of WWII fame or for some other famous Monty :) Cheers!

I really like your videos but they could be a bit longer. I live in Sweden so it’s fun to hear you talk about places and your activities.
I’m new to this kind of shaving and I hope that I will be able to buy it when it gets released. And I would really like a video where you show up your 3 best brushes of bore, badger and synthetic, 3 of each, and preferably if they still are on sale on Amazon or some other site. Mikael....I too would like longer videos from some of the guys but the problem you have with that is MOST people will only sit and watch about 8 to 10 minutes of something....Ken does put out great content and is one heck of a teacher. I watched one of his videos on how to restore a shave brush and Ive been doing it to my old brushes ever since

This might be a instant buy for me, wet shaving for more than a year and still can't keep correct blade angle on some spots,specially on my neck.
This razor really seems to help with that.

The Marvel is a pointed Closed Comb razor. Milder one can barely shave. I would compare him to an Edwin Jagger DE 89. With this shaver you can confidently shave every day ... with his cool, original look, he invites you to do just that. I like him, he is one of the many razors I own and one of the most beautiful.

I have struggled with a lot of razors. I have cut myself to bits and strangely with the ming shi futur clone set on 1 5 it's fine. Do you think the Marvel would be suitable for me.
Just had my first shave with my newly acquired Fine marvel, may have my new Number one razor?Rockwell may move into 2nd place, the razor is not aggressive but efficient, no need to find the angle.

Hi ken, i bought that taylor of old bond grapefruit. This stuff was amazing. It pairs well with my blue timeless shave bowl and west coast synthetic brush. Their brushes are really nice. I have been using the personna blades and they work great, but i get nasty razor burn and bumps only on the left side of my neck each time. Do u think that will go away over time since my body is new to wet shaving? I did just get in the mail the Wilkinson sword blades yesterday because they are just as mild as the personna, right? I only have been going with the grain since I started.

Hi Ken, Do you know if there is any difference in the Wilkinson Classic made I think in Germany compared to the Gillette Wilkinson Blades made in India? My Wilkenson's sample made in Germany work well but the the Gillette version is cheaper to buy. The Handle on that razor is too short for my liking ! Kit

@@kensurfs ...Just used this razor today for the first time, with a Gillette Silver Blue blade. I found it to be an aggressive razor, I did get a really , really close shave. However, I had a hard time getting the correct angle. A lot of irritation on my neck. I might have used too much pressure. I normally use a Merkur 23C and really have my technique down with that. I'm not saying its a bad razor. I think I'm definitely going to have to adjust my technique with this razor.
You seem to like this a lot better than the PAA razor.

Ken, I just don't know why nobody will come out with a modern TTO Butterfly Adjustable Razor. Surely the old Gillette Patents are long expired and someone could produce a nice razor that resembled a fatboy or slim. That is a razor I'd like to see. I'm not fond of these two and three piece deals. It's TTO Butterfly only for me.
