  • Debby, which had developed into a category 1 hurricane as it made landfall Monday morning, was downgraded to a tropical storm as it moves over Florida and Georgia. Impacts to the mid-Atlantic region of the U.S. are unclear but the region is bracing for heavy rain and potential flooding later in the week.

A big problem with the super soakers is that they prime the ground for the really strong hurricanes that come in September. we had a lot of multiple hundred year oak trees down in our neighborhood when Isabel hit in September of 2003 in Virginia.

70 mph winds? We get rain storms like that regularly in CO.
