They can track the location of your internet service provider or your public Internet address. So if you provider is in Mexico they will see you connecting from Mexico on the company VPN.

@@marxxanimation8924 I am saying that the technology exists to detect the fact that you are on a VPN. Whether or not the company you work for can is unknown. I would recommend that you setup the scenario you are asking about while within driving distance and work that way for months. When you leave, if your setup is still the same nothing will appear off. The challenge is if you connect directly to the company VPN then you may have trouble doing so through another tunnel such as your HW VPN or nord.

Dedicated is better than shared but many VPN providers can only provide dedicated IP if you are using their client software. So you would have install something on your device.

They gave me a new computer to work on with their group policies already in place (unable to download VPN software) My idea is to download Nord VPN onto a router and use that to travel abroad... would I be able to connect and not get caught? For security purposes I have to have a hard wire connection. I can’t use Wi-Fi. Does this router essentially provide me with that? I can work anywhere, I just need a hard wire connection over Ethernet.

In order to access my work stuff, I need to connect my company's VPN. If I setup my router with VPN saying I'm in the UK (when I'm really not), can my company check the logs from the company VPN and see that the connection is coming from another VPN (for example Nord VPN), or will the router hide that information?
I get this question in some form everyday. I think I’m going to make a video about double tunneling and how a company can tell if you are on vpn. The short answer is if you start a vpn tunnel say with Nord in the USA(vpn1) then enable your software vpn (company vpn) the traffic to most IT security professionals will look like it’s coming from wherever VPN1 is advertising. They can’t see into the tunnel but most current generation of firewalls can see the communication traffic around the vpn connections.

I’m assuming that those organizations would provide you with a desktop or thin client like a 10 Zig solution and a phone.they probably require that you are plugged in to Ethernet. The short answer is yes but there is more to consider. You will need to connect using the company vpn which means it’s very doubtful you will be able to install software on their computer. You will need a router(s) that will allow every device on your network to be behind a vpn. The only sites I haven't been able to access are state and local government sites and sometimes federal sites. AT&T payment will not work in their app without being on VPN.

If you and your friend have a location to leave one of the routers that would provide you with a level of redundancy by having two sites to connect if one of them is down.

Oh, I never even thought about that for a VPN. It's a good idea. Won't work for me, I need to be within an hour of the office, basically. But I'm watching to see if some of my southeast Asian colleagues are allowed to continue working from abroad. 👀
It depends on the vpn you use and how it’s configured. I haven’t seen any slow down at all when using the vpn with wireguard protocol. I talk about the options in the course.

I haven’t tried cyber ghost. I did try express VPN as well. I still like Nord because of the platforms it supports and the double tunneling or obfuscated servers.

Would a dedicated VPN from NORDVPN be a good idea, since I would be the only one using that specific address?
No. It’s still coming from a data center. The number of servers are limited. And typically this only works with their software client.

Dedicated is better than shared but many VPN providers can only provide dedicated IP if you are using their client software. So you would have install something on your device.

Hey, so, I just got hired to work remote customer service for a department of the government regarding healthcare.
They gave me a new computer to work on with their group policies already in place (unable to download VPN software)
My idea is to download Nord VPN onto a router and use that to travel abroad... would I be able to connect and not get caught? Would I be able to connect directly to the VPN without first connecting to the host country's Wi-Fi?
If you are working for the us government and Need that job I would not try to work out of the country.

My job blocked vpns on my computer because I have to use an internal one to work. I bought the glinet hardware vpn would that work?
Yes. I use one ☝️ with NordVPN. However, If you need use a vpn from your job and you try to tunnel from the hardware router it might be too slow.

I do work for a company. But we only use slack, go high level, clickup, stripe, quickbooks, so there shouldn't be a problem there. But I will also be applying for 1099 jobs that state in the job description that you must reside in the US.

For security purposes I have to have a hard wire connection. I can’t use Wi-Fi. Does this router essentially provide me with that? I can work anywhere, I just need a hard wire connection over Ethernet.

I work remotely for a software company in the US which gives me access to a lot of banking customers personal information. I can work outside the US provided I obtain permission FIRST. I am building a home in Cholul and want to stay there for extended periods. What service and or router do you think I could get to make my company comfortable in approving my request.

In order to access my work stuff, I need to connect my company's VPN. If I setup my router with VPN saying I'm in the UK (when I'm really not), can my company check the logs from the company VPN and see that the connection is coming from another VPN (for example Nord VPN), or will the router hide that information?
I get this question in some form everyday. I think I’m going to make a video about double tunneling and how a company can tell if you are on vpn. The short answer is if you start a vpn tunnel say with Nord in the USA(vpn1) then enable your software vpn (company vpn) the traffic to most IT security professionals will look like it’s coming from wherever VPN1 is advertising. They can’t see into the tunnel but most current generation of firewalls can see the communication traffic around the vpn connections.

Can you use the work VPN software while also using the VPN router? So ideally you'll already be connected to the internet on VPN Router and then you'll need to VPN to access your work stuff. I want to be sure...could care less if the internet slows a little.

@@smiley.d_ I use Nord because it can be installed on everything. Remember you will be pasó g your traffic through a server of someone else. A large commercial company is probably better than a free server sitting in someone’s basement. Huge exaggeration but something to consider.

I don’t know enough about those companies to answer this question. I’m assuming that those organizations would provide you with a desktop or thin client like a 10 Zig solution and a phone.they probably require that you are plugged in to Ethernet. I have clients using a similar setup but without knowing the particulars of the companies you are asking about, I can’t say for sure. They use a something call thinscale secure remote worker when logging in and my wife use her own cellphone to verified signing in

I don't work for a fortune 500 company, I will be working as an 1099 agent for a company here in u.s but will be in mexico and abroad. Will this help me in regards to the privacy of my ip address. They have a VPN to I would have to connect to
The short answer is yes but there is more to consider. You will need to connect using the company vpn which means it’s very doubtful you will be able to install software on their computer. You will need a router(s) that will allow every device on your network to be behind a vpn. I’m working on something that will help you understand exactly what I’m talking about but in the meantime watch this video as well.

The only sites I haven't been able to access are state and local government sites and sometimes federal sites. AT&T payment will not work in their app without being on VPN.

@@aarondesire awesome. If two people use the connection it will make the connection slower but not necessarily slow. It depends on how fast the connection will be. If you and your friend have a location to leave one of the routers that would provide you with a level of redundancy by having two sites to connect if one of them is down.

Just a shame there so slow
It depends on the vpn you use and how it’s configured. I haven’t seen any slow down at all when using the vpn with wireguard protocol. I talk about the options in the course.
