There are dozens of players who have been cut by WNBA teams because they weren’t in the ‘Club’, but are fully capable and are playing all over the world, that the Fever can look at to sign.
Losing is the option the Fever selected when Sides wasn't let go at the break, so let's not go there. You can't compare NBA to WNBA teams due to the small rosters (20 vs 12), low salary cap, guaranteed slave contracts, and minimal player skill level.
I did find out something not good about Krauskopf. When the Fever hired Christie Sides in 2022, Krauskopf was one of the people Lin Dunn leaned on during the coaching search process. “She reminds me of a young Lin Dunn without all the craziness,” Krauskopf jokingly told me of Sides 2 years ago.
If Dunn was pushed out and Sides got one more year, it would be better than both staying. I hope they get a GM who knows how to fill out that roster. Sides did not have much to work with outside of CC AB and KM.
@@jordanlj1 Sides didn't use the existing roster well at all. And having the second worst defense in the league while allegedly being a defensive coach... plus the half court offense was terrible too both of her seasons as head coach.
Sides is perpetually confused and doesn’t even know how to use time outs effectively… how can you be a good basketball coach and not know how they use timeouts? it’s impossible.
When Bird joined the Celtics he had Bill Fitch as coach for his first 4 years then KC Jones for 4 or 5 years. Both Fitch and Jones drew up plays at the end of some close games to use Bird as a decoy. Bird being Big and Dominate said We are not doing that, just get me the ball and get out of my way. Krauskopf's first thing is to tell the Fever coach and Caitlin Clark that the first rule is Clark has the ball when The Fever need a basket. Second rule is The Fever run Show Time Basketball the way The Lakers did when Magic Came to Town. Krauskopf's role is to get Caitlin a running team. Third Rule, Get a Premier Defensive Assistant Coach that can teach Man to Man and Matchup Zone.
Mick almost choked when he saw Berger go over the top of a screen like it was nothing. Like how you think IU beat Iowa twice the last couple of years? Coach Moren played her guards tight on CC and used equal sized guards and trapping defense of the pick. Forced the role players to win games. Pretty much every team that has had success against CC got their blueprint from IU vs Iowa games the last couple years to see how to play Caitlin on defense. The Fever and many wnba teams play slow bruising basketball. But it's worse than the Big Ten or college ball on defense. I agree, just get those skilled, athletic 3 and D players and mix in proper role players to fill in niche assignments spot minutes.
@@elmarko9051 I was at Assembly Hall for both, along with about 13 members of our family. Fun games to watch when you get 17k+ in the gym and a likeable team. I had to explain to my 70 year old mother why Caitlin is different. She didn't like all the hoopla about her. I just told her to watch her run, then add the shooting and passing. Then imagine if her role players would actually hit those wide open 3s. She saw it then. The biggest mistake was for Iowa not to find a transfer player that could fill in the gaps that they lost from her junior year. Other than Kate, there wasn't enough consistent shooting from players above 5'8 from beyond the arc. Marshall and the other main shooter were too short for IU's length during league play, but they showed up for tournaments. Was bummed Mackenzie Holmes was always injured at the end of the last two seasons.
I think she'll talk Dunn into retiring, and then fire Sides. Or at least she should. The only reason she might hesitate is that this is only year 2 into her first head coaching gig. That could be a huge career setback for Sides. Hard to believe they brought in Krauskopf to not shake things up.
I would say 95% change she continue. I enjoy Mick videos, but on this one he fails big time. To make the Fever a top team they need a few things: 1. put some logic on players contract. At the moment we got some of the worst players at top earnings (pathetic). 2. release, atleast, half of the players. The Fever team got 5/7 players that add nothing or little value to the team.......they need to go. 3. get good talent, and atleast 2/3 players with wining experience. All this points are not easy to make in a short time. They need to start working on this asap, but it will take a few years to solve all. With all this, i don't see the Fever wining anything in the next 3/4 years......let's see if CC will wait all this time.
Sides will be coaching next year, but she will be on a Doug Collins-type leash. I can foresee a Phil Jackson-type coach in waiting on the sidelines or somewhere in the front office as an analyst/quality control staff (e.g. Cheryl Miller). Either way, Indiana is winning no less than 27 regular season games, barring injuries.
@@DavidCurry1981 Really?? No less than 27 regular wins?? With what players?? Fever got only 4 decent players and no more. 1. CC: amazing but can't defend 2. Hull: can be a decent defender but can't score (average 4 points per game in last 3 seasons) All the rest players are kinda bad. Or the Fever replace like 6/7 players or i dont see our team wining more them 18/20 games).
I hope you are right. But, I have lost all hope that there is anyone in the WNBA management who is competent. This league seems to be more interested in staying the same small league instead of growing. Most of the players aren't ready for the negatives of fame and the scrutiny, just look at Dijonai, she wasn't ready for people to look at all the camera angles and call her out when she lied, she thought she could get away with it.
The Fever need to do some recruiting for better compliment players to help Caitlin and Chelsea. Including what every hockey team in the NHL has , a enforcer who takes care of the flagrent fouls on Caitlin.
Fire the coach, hire Larry Bird, Mark Jackson or one of the Millers, get rid of the dead wood and drama queens on the team, and draft, trade for or sign a tough defensive minded enforcer who can set screens, grab rebounds and protect their most precious asset! There, problem solved!
The ski fired Witherspoon and I totally saw it coming but i guarantee you she didn’t. Sides doesn’t know that’s she’s doing either. Neither coach knows how to get the most or the best out of their rosters
I agree this is a MASSIVE move. Usually when new management comes in, they often clean house, and bring in team management that fits the culture they are looking to build. In any route, this hire at least shows that this organization is serious about building a winner around CC. Im actually excited to see what she has in store, and the future of this team!
Yes, time to clean up house! Welcome Kelly! So excited for what you are going to do to bring the fever to its full potential and win a WNBA championship next season!
Well, Mick, the season is now over and the clock is now running. There is reason to be hopeful that this new Pres. knows the game well enough and has the wherewithal to get down to business, clean out the deadwood, and get this franchise moving forward. It's as simple as this to me: She'll show promise if Sides is gone, but she will be a miserable disappointment if Sides remains. With Dunn, she should be talked into a nice quiet passing into retirement, but if she thinks she can co-GM with Dunn for a year and make sure good decisions are made, that's up to her.

Now that the season is finished and the team is on hiatus until they're back for pre-season training, it might not be a bad thing to give Christie Sides another year. I've been her biggest critic, but hear me out: She managed to do something that I think none of the other coaches could have done, which is bring this Fever team together in such a way that they are all like sisters now. The AB, CC, KM, LH, DD, EW and TF are as tight as tight can get. This is a team that GETS each other and will fight together. Christie Sides did that...nobody else. I think that THAT very fact alone warrants giving her the opportunity to grow with this team. Sure, she's not perfect, but she will learn...and now she has the off-season to learn more from her mistakes.
The only way there’s going to be real change in the WNBA is if the network executives and their lawyers who gave them that huge money deal go to Nate Silver and say “what the hell are you doing to Caitlin Clark? Her fan base is the only reason we gave you that money.” I truly believe that’s the only motivation that will make any change in the WNBA. Let’s hope those executives and their lawyers are already having such discussions with Nate Silver.
The Pistons hired Monty Williams last year as a rebuilding coach. They fired him after a poor year and that’s without drafting a transcendent superstar or playing one season with a transcendent rookie. There is no question the Fever are changing the coach if they’re taking this seriously, which every indication shows they are.
“… more than anyone can imagine …” I imagine lunch lady Dunn and crossing guard Sides being fired and replaced with a REAL GM and a REAL coach. So … more than I can imagine? I’ll believe it, when I see it.
Chrissy Sides bringing the players together, someone posted!! Never saw that!! What I saw was it took the team that long to realize they were playing a genuinely good person that was very gifted or…. It could have been like the movie “Heartbreak Ridge” where having Clint Eastwood as their platoon leader would be better than dying in combat.
LOL… I hope you are right … but I will have to wait and see what this lady actually does for the Fever !!! Happens ALL the time when companies hire on supposed “top” people yet end up doing nothing !!! IMHO: Fever needs new GM, new Coach and maybe Asst coaches too, get rid of N Smith, get a great def player and for now: an enforcer to protect CC (and if that enforcer will not play fulltime then get one they put in to put the opposing bullies in line then bench her until needed again), and the wealthy owners of the Fever need to start using power to pressure the WNBA to clean up their referees (absolute worst bunch of 🪳) 🤷🏻🤐 !!!
Just admit it Fever leading up to the finals we’re already melding as team, the team seemed to know to be ready once CC had the ball.If CC comes back for next season Fever would and could be a total WNBA magnet, only if the WNBA can get their priorities right and their act together.
There is no way they get rid of Christie Sides, even if they should. The Pacers ownership is incredibly conservative and only makes moves when they have to.
Caitlin should put some pressure on both the Fever mgmt/ownership and on the league, fix some major problems if you want her to come back, or else she'll leave.

Promises throw to the wind. Fever team is a very very weak. This season they make the miracle of getting to the playoffs. But to do that they needed the new true talend that CC is, and the best season by far from KM. And this is the main concern KM is not consistent. This last season was her best season by far, but look what she did on the playoffs games (and even in the last games of regular season)....she return to the normal KM....drible drible drible lost ball. Other HUGE problem of the Fever is the total PATHETIC mindset behinde the contract of their players. The players that earn the most money are the ones that play worst. No other team will offer similar contract to them, and they are still on contract.....so they will continue next season. With that said: HOW WILL THE NEW PRESIDENT CHANGE EVERYTHING?? She will do NOTHING. I bet with everyone that SIDES will also continue as a coach lol. It takes the right ingredients, the right mixture of players and coaches, and timing luck to win a chip in the WNBA. NY and Conn have never won a chip. And they’ve existed in the WNBA since 1997 and 2003, respectively. A turnaround of 4-5 years seems too optimistic for me. This is Sides 2nd year and I really don’t see the Fever winning a chip in 2 years unless they replace 1/2 of their roster that includes in-shape veterans which they likely do not have the budget$ for. Especially with new, good rookies coming soon along with expansion teams in the horizon, a Fever chip in 2 years seems unrealistic. If you’re solely a new CC/Fever fan, then you will feel disappointment. If you’re a supporter of women’s sports thriving, then you will be happy with what’s happening with the current WNBA growth. I take it that you’re exclusive to CC though.
That’s literally why you change things form the top down. We all know Mitchell has the talent and can fit alongside Clark, it’s just a matter of coaching. With all the extra attention on the WNBA from all the new viewers and news attention, will the NBA exert pressure from their 50% ownership to start making some serious changes in the offseason from rules enforcement, refereeing, media training/savvy, and how seriously the teams are taking things? Losing is the option the Fever selected when Sides wasn't let go at the break, so let's not go there. You can't compare NBA to WNBA teams due to the small rosters (20 vs 12), low salary cap, guaranteed slave contracts, and minimal player skill level.
I can only hope. I've seen so much incompetence, I won't be holding my breath.
Nalyssa Smith needs to go
There is no shortage of people who would help her pack.
@@_M.... I agree that Sides is not a good coach, but firing one of them is better than keeping both of them.
@@0TT0_Sportsman I think I watched both of those games. Holy cow that IU arena was loud, even through the TV.
We will see if she fires one of her friends, namely Sides and Dunn
Well she had nothing to do with Sides from my understanding and Dunn is probably going to retire at some point
I think she'll talk Dunn into retiring, and then fire Sides. Or at least she should. The only reason she might hesitate is that this is only year 2 into her first head coaching gig. That could be a huge career setback for Sides. Hard to believe they brought in Krauskopf to not shake things up.
I heard that she's already said Dunn and Sides stay. Hope that that's wrong.
@@mikehall4517 For the coming weeks, yes.
@@sheesshhhhhh Dunn needs to retire. She looks like she is in her 70's.
0% chance sides is coaching next year?
I would say 90% chance she's coaching the fever next year.
This is what I think. I don't want her to be the coach, but I bet she will be.
Exactly this is the president responsible for hiring christie sides so ill believe it when i see it as far as sides getting fired
I would say 95% change she continue. I enjoy Mick videos, but on this one he fails big time. To make the Fever a top team they need a few things:
1. put some logic on players contract.
1. CC: amazing but can't defend
2. KM: that can be amazing or trash (but always playing alone.....she can't pass : average 1.9 assis per game lol)
3. ABoston: solid player
4. Hull: can be a decent defender but can't score (average 4 points per game in last 3 seasons)
All the rest players are kinda bad.
Or the Fever replace like 6/7 players or i dont see our team wining more them 18/20 games).
Wait till next season. You think she’s in your wigs now? You will need therapy when she is done.
Make sure you re-sign Mitchell!
We don't need a Draymond Green
Angel wants swoopes to coach the sky😂 That would be awesome!
Fire the coach, hire Larry Bird, Mark Jackson or one of the Millers, get rid of the dead wood and drama queens on the team, and draft, trade for or sign a tough defensive minded enforcer who can set screens, grab rebounds and protect their most precious asset! There, problem solved!
hire bill laimbeer and fever will win
The ski fired Witherspoon and I totally saw it coming but i guarantee you she didn’t. Sides doesn’t know that’s she’s doing either. Neither coach knows how to get the most or the best out of their rosters
I agree this is a MASSIVE move. Usually when new management comes in, they often clean house, and bring in team management that fits the culture they are looking to build. In any route, this hire at least shows that this organization is serious about building a winner around CC. Im actually excited to see what she has in store, and the future of this team!
Yes, not the time to give a coach grace. The time is now. Not a 10 year growth again.
Okay if her pacer decisions come to fever this is encouraging
Fever need a Policy change that does NOT allow players to be in a relationship with other players or at least players on other teams. Smith & Carrington did not sit well with Fever fans! Lots of Company's have a similar policy.
Actually, allowing this is opening up the teams and the league to law suits.
fever hiring kelly is going big. excited for the changes

Ab-so-lutely!
I'm not sure Sides can be fired, if she signed a 3 year contract
I will believe there will be a fundamental change when Sides is fired.
Satou Sabally would be a great fit
Would they hire a Pacer assistant coach as the Fever head coach? Copy organizational expectations and success,
Bluder on the way

“… more than anyone can imagine …”
I imagine lunch lady Dunn and crossing guard Sides being fired and replaced with a REAL GM and a REAL coach.
Fever has disappointed the fans through out the year. My hopes are very low.
Start by getting rid of Dunn & Sides.
With the new money coming in it won’t be long before former men’s league coaches start taking coaching jobs in the WNBA.
99% chance Sides stays. Hopefully many players are replaced.
That president didnt help The Fever win when she was there 😂😂😂😂
Yes she did. They were WNBA champions, when she was there.
Caitlin should put some pressure on both the Fever mgmt/ownership and on the league, fix some major problems if you want her to come back, or else she'll leave.
Give me a couch that says losing is not an option I am game.
The Hire Doesnt Mean Shit, if nothing gets done. Season is over Time to get to work for next season and do the uncomfortable things to make the team better for next year..
I am curious about the Valkyries draft pick depending on the board I would consider trading NaLyssa Smith for that pick and I am not a NaLyssa hater she and AB were bright spots last year. I kept hoping it would gel better.
They'll get the 1st one. Last time teams were able to protect 6. League hasn't said what the rules are for next yr.
I think Euro league fishing would be a good idea. We can’t trust any current WNBA players not on the Fever who would be anti CC bias.
They should pick up Haley van lit in the second round
nope!
@@RickMcGuire-bl2vs why not she plays as good as Kelsey Mitchell only reason why she got a bad name is because she cannot beat Caitlin Clark but nobody can
no, they should not.
Maybe the NBA did decide to step in, and they just wrote this year off as already lost, but the Fever president does not seem a very powerful position to fix the league.
can we get sabally or collier? fever needs more depth,
Dont hold your breath. the last thing the president did before she left was to sign off on hiring christie sides.. that was her hire so i doubt christie sides is going anywhere making this whole thing completely pointless
Maybe they will give Sides another year and bring in a strong foward and trade Smith. Kelsey is an open question. If the execs can find a good shooting guard they may not renew Kelsey and go with another person.
Mitchell is easily the best SG available, plum is really the only other comparable free agent. We just need a coach that institutes an offensive system in the half court that keeps Michell playing in a way that enhances her strengths.
Start with new coach and g.m.,let smith go and bring in a TEAM PLAYER!! C.C. always involves her team mates and helps them improve thier game, and really fight for better officials in games that will actually do thier jobs and be neutral in calling fouls.
I hope they fire christie sides
Bluder please.
I'm not sure Bluder wants any part of that league. But she was a great coach at Iowa. And perfect for Caitlin Clark.
Actually, Bluder needed Asst Coach Jan Jensen to mentor and keep Caitlin from exploding in college. Bluder is a great coach, but not necessarily for Caitlin.

If Sides or Dunn is still employed this is just lip service. They need to keep three players and build around CC and that means get rid of Mitchell, Smith and every person on the bench.
Keep Lexi and work with her to get better. She shows a lot if promise
Nah man keep Mitchell, Aliyah, Lexie, Caitlin and maybe Dantas then replace rest of the bench
You have to keep Michelle she keeps defenses on there heels but her size sucks on defense.
My biggeat wish is to get refs that call a game fairly. The thuggery is not a good look.
Need to get rid of Sides and a few players
With all this reality, and by the moves some teams are already doing, i dont see the Fever getting to playoff next season. In fact i don't see CC wining anything on Fever team on the next 4/5 years.
Hero Ball!
If you watched Mitchell she was encouraging CC to keep the tempo up, they want to play the same style. It’s a coaching problem not a Mitchell problem imo
@@jeaniekim9951 I'm a kinda new WNBA fan. I like CC a lot, but she is not my favourite player. All my life is around business and data analysis. With all the extra attention on the WNBA from all the new viewers and news attention, will the NBA exert pressure from their 50% ownership to start making some serious changes in the offseason from rules enforcement, refereeing, media training/savvy, and how seriously the teams are taking things? A lot of the issues that the WNBA is starting to face are things that the NBA dealt with 20 to 30 years ago. So in order to keep the WNBA product to be something all these new fans will want to see and not lose them just as the numbers are finally turning to make it profitable, will the NBA flex its muscle on the WNBA teams?
I hope this means good for the girls and do some changes in the rules and refs
Lisa Bluder incoming!

Sides is still employed. This woman has already started her losing.
We'll see. Fever with Dunn at the helm was a disaster cause she hand picked sides. 😩
James Johnson isn’t on the team for his basketball abilities.
One thing that is being missed in these discussions: You have to prove to CC that you are a serious organization regarding winning and building. Why? CC ‘s contract will end and she CAN leave!!!!! They need to prove to CC that this is the place to make her career home. CC will not tolerate anything else.
CC can always buy out her contract and leave NOW.
@@deepcosmiclove She does not have enough data to make that decision now. So far it looks good to her. However, she will have the data in the future. The Fever need to prove to her that she needs to stay.
