In this piece, the speaker is the Egyptian Goddess of Magic, Isis. She is lamenting the loss of her husband, King Osiris, after he was nailed into a coffin and thrown into the Nile River by the God of Chaos (and their brother), Set.
After Set succeeded the throne of Egypt, Isis traveled down the Nile River searching for her husband, and aimlessly wandered for many days and many nights.
