I have been waiting for this moment for months. To finally hear a Eurovision song that touches my heart, and can make me cry. Happens every year, and as a Dutchie, I feel so glad it comes from so close to home this time.
I am Italian and I think it’s very likely to happen. This song has it all. Mustii is an excellent live singer and performer. He will lift this song up with his voice. Some Belgians told me that Italy was going to win because Angelina reminds them at a female Stromae mixed with Angele. I think Italy will be top 5 again but for me it will be hard to beat this one. This feels like Duncan, Blanche, Loic mixed up and the result is just stunning. Goosebumps

I was totally hooked after the first bar of this entry. An instant ooh!! which grew and grew as this song progressed. And what a climax!! I love, love and just love it... fullstop. Belgium have never really sent anything in past years that wasnt mid table for me....ok but not in my top 5. This song i will definitely be registering my vote for on the big night in May. I also liked your reaction to its first play....an inquisitive smirk and your expression said it all no words required. As for Ollie.....why did they release the snippet....i dont get it. Big mistake in my mind. People are already passing mmm!! judgement but i have confidence it will be ok!!! I do have my fingers , toes and all other spare bodily part firmly crossed. Anyway....well done Belgium i think you are serving up a terrific ESC entry.
I totally agree with you! Belgium has a chance of winning this year, if the staging is good. The snippet of Ollys song -it sounded ok, but nothing more. But it's just a snappet though
I was so excited when they announced Mustii as their act because I love his song "Blind" and he did not disappoint. It sounds like it could be a Duncan Lawrence song (which is a great thing in my book). I wasn't expecting anything to take over Latvia as my winner but yet this has, the last minute especially is incredible and could be a real moment if staged correctly.
Absolutely love a bit of Belgian dark pop! 😀 The build is gradual and the last minute is fantastic with the Eurofans choir (just wish the lyrics weren’t repetitive). Really grabs you. Live this could be coming for the crown if the staging is there and of course his live vocals are as powerful as the recording. I agree, UK have competition with this and Lithuania’s entry at present.
i hope with my entire heart that this is staged well and that he can acc pull it off vocally. If he can nail the vocals and the staging is capturing, with the last 1 minute included in the recap- this could do SO well at ESC. It has a build and climax like nothing else this year, it really does take you on a musical journey. This surely can only be complimented by good ass staging. Belgium have a shot at gold here, I hope they dont mess it up
I talked last night with Mustii on Instagram and he said he’s bringing his own team for the staging. Loic Nottet also had his own team, but Blanche, Eliot, Jeremy were staged by a team from RTBF. See the difference.

So far this is my favourite entry. It definitely appears to be a strong contender (need to see it performed live). Agree about Olly, I'm a bit worried going on the snippet he's released. Ive a feeling he's gone down the radio friendly route rather than the Eurovision route. Here's hoping we're both proven wrong!
belgium in the top 5 in the odds.. that doesn't happen often :) I always enjoy the season but it's different when you're own country steps in with the message 'sorry guys, only 9 other spots left for the final'. I think this is up there with Loic and Blanche. but unlike those, this is an experienced artist with his own vision (a bit like Gustaph last year). I hope we get some great staging with this (RTBF is struggling with that lately) because the song has a lot of potential.
Good day Shane! So, I really like Muustii's song, from start to finish. I like the melody, the way it expands with power and real passion at the end! The backing vocals also contributes a lot. It's a bit moody and introvert, expressed with intensity. Personally, that little something extra is missing to reach my absolute top, but a lot can change live. Have a good day! 💖

Completely agree. If the staging is as good as the music video, it’s going to be amazing. Gustaph took a second to grow on me but this was immediate. He better be coming to Barcelona!
This is a very strong entry from Belgium, one which gives lots of great staging potential, and if staging and the vocal are all on point, who knows how well this could do. I am nervous to throw the term 'potential winner' around, but this could certainly be a challenger, and I would absolutely love for Belgium to win Eurovision, it has been far too long since their one and only win, so it is certainly overdue. For my personal tastes I have a couple of entries above this in my standings, lets call them the more 'pure pop' entries. 😆 But this has already been growing massively on me since first listen, and I genuinely feel with great staging and vocal this will almost certainly be amongst my very top favourites come the conest in May. No negative thoughts regarding Olly are allowed Shane, only positive thoughts, keep the faith as Tamara from Georgia 2017 fabulously sung 😜🤣
Wow, wow, WOW Shane! This is fantastic. Let there me no doubt about it, this alongside Ukraine imo, is giving off "winners vibes" Tremendous vocals with meaningful lyrics that builds throughout, reaching a passion-filled crescendo in the last minute. I can't speak highly enough of this entry. The "live" could be a test but apart from that slight reservation, Belgium has my full support this year. Giving me Conchita feels and we all know how that finished in 2014 Well done Mustii and well done Belgium. Now i understand why he was the confirmed artist so long ago. 👏👏👏👏
I completely agree with you about Belgium’s song, I love it a lot and it’s probably in my top 3 atm. But I do think it’s unfair to say that Olly’s chances have been lessened because of a) this song, and b) a 20 second snippet. Yes Olly and Mustii are both beautiful queer artists, but they’re bringing completely different vibes with their songs, so I don’t doubt for a second that both will be brilliant in their own right - Mustii being amazing doesn’t mean that Olly won’t be! Plus, as someone from the UK I totally get your worry as we’ve been burnt in the past with artists/teams who clearly don’t get Eurovision. But I truly think Olly is different and he really does get it - I guess we’ll just have to wait until next Friday, but I do think we’re in very safe hands this year.

The final 30 or so seconds when it really gets going will be used in the recap, it is very televote friendly. This is also super queer friendly. I'd be shocked if this is not top 5, maybe higher.

As you might remember, last year's song from Gustav, wasn't my cup of tea. It was fun and entertaining but not a wower for me. So I was very interested and impatient to see and hear this one, because of what I had seen from this artist in the past. And I am VERY VERY happy and VERY VERY pleasantly surprised with this entrance, LOVE LOVE LOVE IT 😍😍. The more I listen to it, the more I like it. I have to say though, that in my opinion this is a bit of a male Raiven/Veronika. The building of the song is similar to Veronika, although Veronika has more impactful sounds in the buildup of the song and this one has a more powerful highlight when it gets to the top. It does get a bit repetetive at the end, there could have been some variation there, but I love it anyway. My worry is, both songs need a few listens to win you over completely and that, we all know, is something that can play against them in the final (where people around the world, who have never seen or heard the song before, vote). So their performances absolutely need that instant impact and therefore, the staging and perfect vocals would be essential to triumph. I haven't heard any of them live yet so that worries me. Good thing is that they're not in the same semi, so that's in their favour. Georgi and I think that Raiven, Luna and Mustii are seprated triplets by the way 😜

I'm not a fan of Ollie however the UK has taken a wise decision to delay the full version so they can tweak it to stand out. I love this song and can't see the UK topping it.
I'll be honest, I didnt really have any expectations for Belgium because I checked out some of Mustii's other songs when he was announced as the Belgian representative and none of them that I heard were completely my cuppa tea. This entry however is really good. I will admit, my opinion that I had initially still remains that the first half of the song for me I think needs something a little extra to grab me because its good but I felt like something is missing, however, that last minute, I absolutely love. Also I completely agree with both the comparison and worries you share with Ollie's song and how Mustii is his direct competition. Like you've said, this song feels like a very strong, competent and competitive song from an artist that identifies as being part of the LGBT+ community and like you've mentioned, when I heard the snippet of Ollie's song (and I am keeping in mind that it is a snippet) it did feel quite, "this doesn't feel exactly like his other music but rather a perception of what an esc song should have in it".
It's a weird one for me, this is clearly a realy great entry from Belgium and Mustii sells it really well. It's just not connecting with me yet like with Alika last year, another blatantly good song that passed me by. I've listened to it twice so maybe it'll grow on me with each listen like Italy's has. I can see the winner potential though.

Some famous singers/group are the previous winners from this contest.(i.e., Celine Dion, ABBA to the more recent one Måneskin) Belgium is country next to the Netherlands in Europe:)

Great entry by Belgium but it takes too long to build, then when we come to the end it sounds too repetitive for too long. Again great song but for me it misses something to consider it a winner. Well done though Belgium. Wrt Olly, although 20 sec snippet, it felt a bit underwhelming incl the dizzy for your kisses part. Hope there's more to it
My expectations were extremely high due to Eurofans hyping this as a potential winner and this ain’t that imo🤷♂️ The ending of continuous repetition is a huge missed opportunity… Even if the choir in the background was only doing it but he should be giving us something different lyrically. Genuinely a full 40 seconds of purely just Before The Party’s Over is excessive, lazy and uninspiring. Sure qualifier? 💯 Potential Top 10? Yea i could see it with a good jury score. Winner? I’d say delusion respectively for them people going very over the top🤣
I don't get the hype 😉 It's buliding soooooo slowly. I like only the last minute and still he sings only one phrase over and over again. But Belgium can stage and he can make a great performance.

Of all the songs this year, this is the one i keep playing on an almost daily basis

I'll be honest, I didnt really have any expectations for Belgium because I checked out some of Mustii's other songs when he was announced as the Belgian representative and none of them that I heard were completely my cuppa tea.
This entry however is really good. I will admit, my opinion that I had initially still remains that the first half of the song for me I think needs something a little extra to grab me because its good but I felt like something is missing, however, that last minute, I absolutely love.
Also I completely agree with both the comparison and worries you share with Ollie's song and how Mustii is his direct competition. Like you've said, this song feels like a very strong, competent and competitive song from an artist that identifies as being part of the LGBT+ community and like you've mentioned, when I heard the snippet of Ollie's song (and I am keeping in mind that it is a snippet) it did feel quite, "this doesn't feel exactly like his other music but rather a perception of what an esc song should have in it".

It's a weird one for me, this is clearly a realy great entry from Belgium and Mustii sells it really well. It's just not connecting with me yet like with Alika last year, another blatantly good song that passed me by. I've listened to it twice so maybe it'll grow on me with each listen like Italy's has. I can see the winner potential though.

This is a song that will represent Belgium in participating in the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest (European broadcasters) in May in Sweden.

@@akizaizinskii It‘s a song competition rather than a singing competition (of course live vocals are important so as the staging for the song, performers have to sing LIVE during the actual competition as well) The contest has a long history after WWII to unite the whole Europe. Some famous singers/group are the previous winners from this contest.(i.e., Celine Dion, ABBA to the more recent one Måneskin)
Belgium is country next to the Netherlands in Europe:)

Great entry by Belgium but it takes too long to build, then when we come to the end it sounds too repetitive for too long. Again great song but for me it misses something to consider it a winner. Well done though Belgium. Wrt Olly, although 20 sec snippet, it felt a bit underwhelming incl the dizzy for your kisses part. Hope there's more to it
My expectations were extremely high due to Eurofans hyping this as a potential winner and this ain’t that imo🤷♂️ The ending of continuous repetition is a huge missed opportunity… Even if the choir in the background was only doing it but he should be giving us something different lyrically. Genuinely a full 40 seconds of purely just Before The Party’s Over is excessive, lazy and uninspiring.
Sure qualifier? 💯 Potential Top 10? Yea i could see it with a good jury score. Winner? I’d say delusion respectively for them people going very over the top🤣

I don't get the hype 😉 It's buliding soooooo slowly. I like only the last minute and still he sings only one phrase over and over again. But Belgium can stage and he can make a great performance.

I love this song qnd its my favourite at the moment. I totally share your worry about Olly. I was rather disappointed with the snippet of Dizzy i heard. Need to hear the whole song obviously but i think this song is just modern, epic and a definate potential winner if staged well. Im worried Dizzy is just a bit meh
