Thank you so much for providing a doll count, I'm finding the dolls without spoilers but I didn't want to search every single map for the last few dolls. Also... Kilmartin? What did Martin do to you?
My pleasure, guides with spoilers can suck, especially if the spoilers are avoidable or not necessary to the guide. I listed the dolls in the order the levels are unlocked to simplify things as much as possible. Haha thanks for catching that, that crept by me on autocorrect. Can't believe it's been up all this time and someone has only just told me now 😆
Not to mention, there are cannons now that shoot baulders, instead of fireballs exclusively and there are laser traps as well...also more than 3 "life symbols" and they are in different places now too (mostly)...
I played the original back on the Sega Saturn years ago when I had a lot more time on my hands and found the majority of them then and they havent changed the locations. Most of the dolls have a tell to its location, discolouration on a wall indicating it can be destroyed, or a crack or hole that there is no explanation for or even something as simple as a brick or tile out of place in a pattern. As for the Kilmaat Haunt one under the level, once it became clear there was at least 1 doll hidden in every level, that was just trial and error looking for it until I fell off and spotted as I fell to my death.
I thought its impossible too, but when you got map powerup, you can locate where the doll room is. But still, there are few maps with no jars so no chance to get this map, and those are really random where just must try every wall (like Seth Arena, Kilmaat haunt or sunken palace). And sometimes even map didnt help -> looking at you Well of souls.
So I'm playing the game on the switch, and saw the first one with laser beams and lava. How the hell do I pick it up without dying? As soon as I pick it up, I have to press B, ( to close the info). In doing so, I fall to my death. Even if I did manage to pick this item up I wouldn't be able to get out of the hole again.
I've sussed it out. I was ready to levitate as soon as I closed my info pickups. I was also dubious throwing a grenade against the wall to throw me up out of the hole, but it works a treat. I'm more or less used to it. It was a bit fiddly when I first did it, but it seems this is the only way to get these tokens. How anyone knew where these were located is beyond me. I've followed your guide mate. 17/31. Thanks a lot.
I was pretty sure the Kilmaat Colony ones were the last 2 I needed but nope, iI'm on 30/31. Been through all the levels again and seems like its glitched for me :( Stuck on 30/31. EDIT. Just checked Kilmaat Haunt and the first doll was back (guess i died before getting a checkpoint) but my counter says 29/31 now!?? So it didn't save the colony ones? Went back to Colony and got them. Trophy popped at last!
At almost everything other than dolls placements Saturn version seem like superior one...But having more than one doll at a level is an unnecessary bullshit man, especially that one where two are placed together next to each other, like what's the freaking point?! Lol In PSX version there were less, but they were put much more logically...
Why the heck maps layouts and collectible locations are so damn different in Saturn version compared to PSX one?! Lol it's like 2 completely different games...2 extra levels, extra dolls, more than one doll at a level, transmitter parts in different locations, Cobra Staff pov being different when held as well as projectile homing properties, occasional temporary weapon power boost that never happens in the PSX version, Exploding projectiles physics affecting player throwing him away, Two types of scorpions red and blue instead of one blue of PSX, Enemies body parts not always exploding into gibs when killed, Heket Marsh level having exclusive ost and sounds...lmao
Man i hate the two in Kilmath colony at least there are two checkpoints at the bottom and the top,if it was the ps1 or saturn versions you had the restart the whole level if you died but those two wheren't even there.
So how do you get the kilmaat doll that requires the flying bird if you've not got the rest of the dolls on later levels? Ie can you finish the game and replay levels?
Yeah, you can replay all of the levels as many times as you want as often as you want. You unlock the vulture glyph (flight mode) after collecting 28 dolls.
@@chriswinspear7965 no problem at all. That last one is quite finicky, in the original release you had the exact number of grenades it required at full weapon power meaning you couldn't use any on the final boss and couldn't make any mistakes blowing up the walls, this version at least allows for a mistake or 2 so it's a bit more forgiving.
Thank you for the map by map format. Really helpful :)
Thank you for the guide very helpfully

Great, thanks man!!!

how the hell are you ever supposed to find these without a level editor, cheats, or a guide?
God DAMN

Heket Marsh's doll seems especially random.

What level is that? As in what is it's name. Been a while since I played so not sure where you're describing without more to go on.

@@ObsceneSociopath Yeah sussed it, I just did it before I saw this, thanks for responding :)
Also didn't have enough grenades for the last one before the heli, so glad you can replay missions :)
