I have bought and sold many houses in my time and I just want to remind you Mindy that you do not have to sell any of your furniture to the new owners. You can say no and they will still buy your house assuming you didn’t sell the home furnished.
Definitely the Swedish meatballs, they are a must! Here in England (even in Israel where I lived) Ikea is a very popular, very affordable shop and if you mix with some more exclusive items, the result can be very good. I’ve just helped my son doing exactly that and his flat looks fab!
My entire apartment is IKEA & Amazon furniture 😂 I love the Swedish meatballs at the IKEA cafe! My bedroom set is the Hemnes… I have all of it, bed frame, side tables, and dressers! Also the green & gold kitchen is my dream! Ever since I saw that combination a few years ago it’s been my end goal when I buy a house someday!
I love the hemnes bedroom furniture! We and my adult daughter have it too!! It’s so durable and sturdy! Also love the billy bookcases and we have a dining room set from IKEA

PS I loved Bridgerton and I loved Queen Charolette just as much if not more. I had to binge watch it because it was so good.
It's kinda cool you'll be able to get a new couch and entertainment center. Won't have to worry about disassembling them and moving it over to your new house 😀
I love the furniture in Ashley’s I’ve been to IKEA many times they have parts where there is kids rooms and playroom set up and part where they sell containers and baskets of all sorts and really cheap stuff and they have a clearance part too where furniture and things run extremely cheap too. You have to take an all day kind of trip there snd yes good is good there for sure . It can get a lot though for kids so you might have to plan it on a day that both of you can go on your own to really look around . Cannot wait to see what you come up with .
Love ikea! There’s a learning curve. Showroom leads to the store. Need to take pics of the numbers on items to find them in the area where you get the boxes lol. It’s confusing until you figure it out! The meatballs are good!
Hey mindy!! Hello from Ohio! Can’t wait to see this journey of your new home congratulations 🎉. Wanted to give a tip, when it comes to dinning room tables, I wish when we picked out our farmhouse table (similar to the second one you shown at Ashley) that we would have thought about the future with kiddos! Love the table, but when the way it’s made it’s hard to have a booster in the chair and pull it up against the table. Our son is one and we converted him to a booster so he could sit with us at the dinner table and eat easier , his legs can’t go under the table due to the way the table is built, boosters make them a littler higher and the wooden piece under the table gets in the way from being able to put their legs under the table correctly we make it work but Just something to keep in mind :)
Ikea food is good and reasonably priced. Definitely go for a meal. Even if you’re not into the aesthetic of their furniture pieces, they have gel rest decor items, plants, blankets etc. be wary of the picture frames though because they are differently sized than typical measurements.
The ikea 365 glass containers and lids are my favorite! I’ve had mine for 3 years and except for a couple of that’s where one snap has broken they have held up perfectly
I love Ikea! The meatballs are my favorite! It can be overwhelming though for sure, the display area has arrows on the floor that take you through every section, so you don't get lost and can still see everything.
IKEA’s food is pretty good. I love the meatballs and the pastries! Most of your footage seemed like it was on the display floor which is great for inspiration, though I personally enjoy shopping on the other floor more where you can more easily compare items. They definitely have so many good storage options and a lot of their stuff is actually good quality. I’m so excited you’re watching Queen Charlotte! Please share your thoughts! I think I actually enjoyed it even more than the two seasons of the main show. It was one of the most beautiful love stories I’ve ever seen.

I am so excited to come along on the house journey and all the new adventures. It also makes me happy seeing Larry do baseball/softball. I feel like once you are out of University it is hard to meet new people and do things as an adult, so seeing Larry do this makes me happy.
I LOVE Ikea. It’s definitely somewhere you need a lot of time to get through. It’s easiest if you follow the arrows on the floor which keeps you from getting lost and will take you from the front to the checkout at the exit. Food is pretty good. Love their grocery section also.

You have to take lid off and align lid just right for all four sides to close. I have those containers from ikea also and it takes me a couple times….loved this vlog! Haahaa..Larry started out with a wiffff! So glad Larry you are getting out and playing on a team! My 1st trip to ikea was very overwhelming…we had to figure out where to go..but ours has arrows in the isles…We did not eat at cafe..but we have heard from several people and UA-cam people that the cafe has awesome food. You are going to love the Queen charlotte series..we watched. I also recommend Queen gambit….very..very good..we are watching now.
Ikea is the best!!! Did you go to the basement floor? The basement isnt furniture its plants, candles, glassware, decor, pillows, rugs, etc!!! Its really cheap for that kinda stuff. I also get all my faux plants there which make the room very lively!
Mindy, I will suggest to move to your new house and live it for a little bit before you buy new furniture. Sometimes we decide we like some type of furniture until you move and decide that the vibe is not what we really wanted.

Love Ikea its very popular in the UK as is Scandi style decor. Food is awesome especially the meatballs and we go before xmas for the ginger bsicuits. Only issue with Ikea you go for a look and end up with a trolley of things yoU didnt know you needed until you saw them lol

We have the Ello glass storage containers and they’re our favorite!!! We’ve had them for about 2.5 years and we’ve not had any issue with the lids not snapping on!
We have some of the cube shelves from ikea in our sons closet and they’re so nice! You can anchor them to the wall, and they have the basket inserts for storage. I would recommend them!
Just get Pyrex. They are glass and don’t have the locking lids. I prefer them so much more. But be mindful we only hand wash the lids. I learned that the dishwasher does something funky to the lids. No matter the brand.
We have glass Pyrex containers we got as a wedding gift 35 years ago and just threw away a couple of the lids last year. Did not 100% hand wash over the years but the quality may have been better back then.

We've never tried the food before, but it looks delicious. And yes we have bought things there too. Pyrex has containers that look like that, but the gaskets don’t come off. They are great. I think those were modeled after the Pyrex ones.

I use the Starfrit Locknlock glass containers. I'm in Canada but sure you could probably find them there.
You can never wash those lids in the dishwasher (it warps them) or microwave the lids, you must close the long sides first
