A question for you. Ball 8 is an outball and is for gate 2. Player 8 is called and plays the outball 8 towards gate 2. The ball stops on the gate line of gate 2 such that the gateline runs through the centre of the ball. I know that if ball 8 came from the back side of the gate it cannot score the gate at its next turn and that the record sheet would have been noted with a circle. However, if the outball 8 had stopped on the gate line from the front side of the gate, can it score the gate at its next turn if it still happened to be in the same position? I guess what I'm asking is, can played in outballs legally start to run a gate provided they stop before passing fully over the gateline.
