What I like is that yacht companies are trying something new. This may not be to everyone’s taste but it’s new and fresh, it makes things exciting.

For smaller yachts this makes sense and feels much larger than comparable sized yaches. When I first saw the "kitchen" on the main deck I was like that's not a proper kitchen and then you went to the 2nd level :) Tons of storage below from the crew quarters but not that easily accessible for moving things. Still decent for storage. Only thing missing is stern controls for docking, possibly more refrigeration, and laundry facilities (which might be fit in the technical space but not very convenient. You also forgot to mention the Williams Sport Jet 285 type tender garage and crane that are hidden under the sofa bed aft.

The center of gravity cannot help but be considerably higher than the typical 60-65’ yacht. There are some interesting ideas with this design. It’s not my cup of tea at all. There are several train wrecks as well. Thx for the tour.

Not convinced at all. Seems as tall from the outside as any 60ft flybridge but only has 2 decks...? Like an inverse tardis....

    • @arekpetrosian4965

It is kind of odd, isn't it? If you compare it to the yacht right next to it, which has a flybridge and 3 levels, it's about the same height...so where did the extra space go? What's under the accommodations deck? I still like the layout, it is pretty cool, but...seems like some space wasn't utilized.

This is one of the most awkward designs I've seen. It's so counter to the flow of activities for a normal day relaxing on a yacht. It's so disjointed, it's hard to believe this isn't an adaptation of some commercial design, retrofit with cabins, and being repurposed to yachting. If this thing had started life as some marine research vessel, with a couple labs on the main deck, this odd layout would make more sense.

Cabins on the main deck. Crew quarters in the chain locker. Galley, lounge and helm on a fully closed (or wide open) fly bridge. Why it took so long to break tradition and reclaim designed LOST SPACES no longer matters. It was done. It is here. All hail the 22nd Century Yacht. Thank you MB&Y, Hugo in particular and CETERA Yachts. To all a Job Well Done.

  • @iancharlton678
    @iancharlton678 2 роки тому +17

    Ummmmmmm 🤔
Can’t say it appeals…….. the cabin level, as with most boats, is by necessity served with a narrow corridor…. which, in my opinion gives a cramped initial feel entering from the stern. Even with the more open upper deck…..
Also, it looks clumsy overall and I don’t think I would be confident on the overall view when manoeuvring, sat at the only helm…….. the out, and down view towards the bow looks very restricted and rearward almost non existent….
Interesting, but not for me Hugo…… that and being about €1.1m short, unless if you could sub me till Friday 🙂

This is hands down the worst layout I've seen on a 60ft yacht for either life at anchor, or under way. I'm amazed this design didn't get the ax in the concept stage.

As long as a coming storm comes in veeeeeerrrrrrrry slowly, i'd be able to close up the top deck in time to prevent a washout. Besides this sarcastic remark, I think the plan is certainly innovative. However: I feel that this floor plan very much separates the occupants from the water: while other boats are aggrandizing the "beach club" areas and rear platforms, for easy and close access to the water, this plan turns its back on the water, and brings people to an fully enclosed up-front area, or to an area elevated one story from the water.

  • @cowesdave9503

I like the idea of the layout but did you say good visibility from the helm? Maybe straight ahead but I wouldn't like to try and moor it. Great access from underneath to service all the bits that saves having to lift up beds/seats floorboards trying to find something. Think B&Q could have done a better job of the fit out.

But that's a relitively minor thing. Overall I love this boats design.

There is a wing station in the aft cockpit but I think you have terrible visibility of the bow from the helm.

Different, nice looking. So much wasted space it’s crazy.
1.2 for this? No no no
Absolute is head and shoulders above just about everything from 47 to 60 ft.
