Hi Emma, might sound like a weird option but I used to work in Clarks shoes, and they do a whole range of shoe care, there's one thing they do called a foam cleaner and it's for suede and nubuck!! They also sell a cleaning brush to go with it, costs around £10 so it would be well worth a try!! Really hope you see this comment and it works for you xx ps they also do a protector spray that I used for all my suede and nubuck shoes, bags and coats. Completely stops denim transfer etc!! It's amazing xx

Oh, and I love the fact that you show the bags the whole time while talking about them👍🏻 most UA-camrs show the bag for 5 seconds maybe 2-3 times while talking about them, and then we sit and watch them tell their experiences with the bag for 10 minutes with no bag in sight🙄

I love the style of the Givenchy Antigona, and that cream one is gorgeous~ I have a taupe one and I love it! I must say though, just because a bag is "designer" doesn't mean its all that wonderful~ Sometimes a person can simply be wasting their money when there are so many great quality and adorable bags out there~

Emma the nubuck suede bag can be cleaned by rubbing it with cornmeal and a dry paper towel..gently rub in a circular motion until stains are gone. It may take two cleanings or just put the cornmeal on the suede and let it sit overnight and rub it off with your fingers the next morning.. this also works on shoes. The cornmeal absorbs the oil or whatever the stain happens to be..it's probably hand lotion or hand sanitizer or just daily use. It can also be cleaned with just a dry paper towel first if the stains aren't too bad. A dry paper towel also will save you a lot of pounds by not using the dry cleaners to clean minor stains on your clothes. A dry paper towel will remove make up from collars alone or along with any type of powder such as baby powder..talc powder..or just plain old cornstarch. Hope this helps..Hugs

That would depend on your budget. The Gucci Marmont has been my best bag purchase by far, well worth the money. But if you're looking for something with a lower price point then I would also suggest the Gucci Disco (or newer Marmont version) and the Saint Laurent tote 👍🏼
I love the simon miller bag! Very unique and lovely. Im a big suede fan but you are right about having to be careful with it or it gets dirty fast. I use Scotchguard on all my new items including suede to prevent stains. Haven't had any problems with that yet!

Hi Emma, I had the same problem with my red suede Celine bag. Wore it to death, had denim transfer on the back, but managed to restore it with a nail file. You need to lightly rub the dirty part of the suede/nubuck with a clean nail file. It should take the top layer of the leather off together with the dirt. It restored my bag to a practically 'as new' condition. But do try it somewhere on the edge first- you never know how the specific material with react.
If you're feeling brave I would use a rubber (eraser) and go over the markings on the nubuck and suede (they're essentially the same thing just different sides of skin) with that (that should get a majority of the marking off). I used to work in a higher end shoe store where all of our shoes were leather and that seemed to work a treat for us. You could also try a suede or nubuck shampoo but I would test it on a small patch first. To be honest, the shampoos while they do work, will generally take some of the colour out of the nubuck leather too. In future to prevent any marking or colour transfer, I would always, always, always water proof your bags first. You can use any waterproofer made for smaller leather goods so long as it doesn't have silicon in it (sometimes silicon can discolour lighter shoes). If you try any of these, good luck! :)
I'm so happy that you've made this video! My boyfriend will be buying me a bag for my birthday, yet I still don't know which bag I really want! It will be my first luxurious bag, so I want to have it for years. I love Faye, but because of the material I probably won't go for it. Gucci Marmont is a nice choice. I will definitely add that to the list 👍🏼 I couldn't recommend the Gucci enough, it's practical, chic, quite classic and it goes with everything 🙌🏼 The Faye is a beautiful bag but because of that nubuck flap I would buy with caution and don't expect it to look pristine for long. They do now make them in all leather which could be worth considering though 😘

I've been scorned by nubuck in the past as well, my condolences. My bag was actually a medium brown color and it got some sort of a grease stain on it that couldn't be cleaned. It's such a shame because it's such a luxuriously soft fabric, but so fragile! I don't think I would purchase another nubuck bag again.

The Marmont 100%. Leather is always so much more practical for a bag and I use mine soooo much. It's quite a classic shape/design too, kind of like the Chanel 2.55 but at more than half the price 🙊

I have tried about 10 leather specialists to see if there's anything they could do but no one will touch it. Apparently the Chloe Faye is a notorious bag and they all advised me to complain to Chloe. I did try the magic eraser and that has made an improvement 👍🏼 LOVE the Antigona, what size and colour do you have? x
Emma, I know you posted this a couple of months ago, but I just watched it today. I have a suggestion to clean your Chloe Faye bag. I also didn’t read any of the other comments so I don’t know if anyone has given this suggestion. Anyway, I have pink Nubuck Swedish hasbeens they got a little dirty from wearing them out. My mom suggested I use a mr. clean magic eraser and it took off the black scuff marks. I also don’t know if they have that brand in the uk??? Sorry this was a long response and I hope this helps! I don't have a Celine Box bag that's why. I used to have a dupe, it was real leather and it was similar to a box bag but I gave that to my sister in law, I'm still on the hunt for a Box bag myself 👍🏼

Hey Ruth, ooooo bag twins 😘 Yes it is much cheaper to buy a bag in duty free at Heathrow as it's tax exempt (20% off) but you have to be flying from Terminal 4 because that's the only terminal with a Saint Laurent store 👍🏼
I've managed to clean it now. I did want to have it dyed black but you can't actually re-dye or spray the nubuck part, apparently according to several leather specialists the dye or paint wound;t hold 🤷🏼♀️
I was going to, I wanted it dyed black but had the same issue, because the flap is Nubuck and not suede it can't actually be re-dyed as it won't 'hold' the dye 😖
Ariat ( a brand that makes leather goods for horses ) makes a suade and nebuck cleaner its like a foam that you massage into the material its only £7 from online tack shops ( R and R country stocks it ) its avery delicate cleaner so it may work for your bag.
Ahhhh thanks for the tip. I used a Magic Eraser in the end as that was quite gentle, because this nubuck is so delicate. But I'll definitely bare that in mind for the future 💋
I'm going to be really honest with you Esme, I'm really crap at saving money. When there's something I really want then I definitely try and behave a little more with my money and it takes me a bit longer to put it aside but for the most part saving isn't my strong point. I do sometimes do a wardrobe cleanse and sell bags/clothing/shoes that I no longer to use to put towards a new bag purchase. I didn't always buy designer bags but as I got older and started earning more money then I had to means to be able to afford them. I don't have a wardrobe full of designer clothes but I do love to splurge on shoes and accessories 🙊💋

Are they going to paint the bag or dye it? Because painted leather becomes kind of a pain in the tookus to take care of. You might want to check on the upkeep before you do it.
I do believe it's painted because the leather has already been treated so cannot be dyed again. But thanks for letting me know I didn't know there would be an issue with the upkeep so deffo something to bare in mind 💋

I have tried about 10 leather specialists to see if there's anything they could do but no one will touch it. Apparently the Chloe Faye is a notorious bag and they all advised me to complain to Chloe. I did try the magic eraser and that has made an improvement 👍🏼 LOVE the Antigona, what size and colour do you have? x

Hi Emma, have you tried a suede brush to clean Faye? I have one and it works miracles!
For an everyday bag would you recommend the ysl Kate in a medium or the Gucci marmont in a small? I can't decide!
The Gucci Marmont fur sure. The YSL is more of an evening bag and is very narrow so you can't actually fit much in there x

I know you posted this a couple of months ago, but I just watched it today. I have a suggestion to clean your Chloe Faye bag. I also didn’t read any of the other comments so I don’t know if anyone has given this suggestion. Anyway, I have pink Nubuck Swedish hasbeens they got a little dirty from wearing them out. My mom suggested I use a mr. clean magic eraser and it took off the black scuff marks. I also don’t know if they have that brand in the uk??? Sorry this was a long response and I hope this helps!

I don't have a Celine Box bag that's why. I used to have a dupe, it was real leather and it was similar to a box bag but I gave that to my sister in law, I'm still on the hunt for a Box bag myself 👍🏼
All men should be more like Simon. My husband only wants to buy me Chanel bags (which isn't terrible ofcourse) because he thinks we will use it as some sort of investment (although I will never sell them, haha!)

Yes it is much cheaper to buy a bag in duty free at Heathrow as it's tax exempt (20% off) but you have to be flying from Terminal 4 because that's the only terminal with a Saint Laurent store 👍🏼

Hi, just spray paint the flap on the Chloe Faye and make it your own...it will be one of a kind ;)
I've managed to clean it now. I did want to have it dyed black but you can't actually re-dye or spray the nubuck part, apparently according to several leather specialists the dye or paint wound;t hold 🤷🏼♀️
Why don't you dye the Chloe Faye flap another colour. ?? Love you and your UA-cam !!
I was going to, I wanted it dyed black but had the same issue, because the flap is Nubuck and not suede it can't actually be re-dyed as it won't 'hold' the dye 😖

Ariat ( a brand that makes leather goods for horses ) makes a suade and nebuck cleaner its like a foam that you massage into the material its only £7 from online tack shops ( R and R country stocks it ) its avery delicate cleaner so it may work for your bag.
Ahhhh thanks for the tip. I used a Magic Eraser in the end as that was quite gentle, because this nubuck is so delicate. But I'll definitely bare that in mind for the future 💋

I'm going to be really honest with you Esme, I'm really crap at saving money. When there's something I really want then I definitely try and behave a little more with my money and it takes me a bit longer to put it aside but for the most part saving isn't my strong point. I do sometimes do a wardrobe cleanse and sell bags/clothing/shoes that I no longer to use to put towards a new bag purchase. I didn't always buy designer bags but as I got older and started earning more money then I had to means to be able to afford them. I don't have a wardrobe full of designer clothes but I do love to splurge on shoes and accessories 🙊💋

Are they going to paint the bag or dye it? Because painted leather becomes kind of a pain in the tookus to take care of. You might want to check on the upkeep before you do it.
I do believe it's painted because the leather has already been treated so cannot be dyed again. But thanks for letting me know I didn't know there would be an issue with the upkeep so deffo something to bare in mind 💋
