This is exactly why Mabel is such a over hated character. That’s what I like about Gravity Falls is that the characters are human and both sides win and Dipper and Mabel Pines are my second favorite cartoon sibling relationship, with my most favorite being Phineas, Ferb, and Candace. I find Mabel funny and I find both Dipper and Mabel relatable. Also Mabel didn’t intent to start Weridmageddon, didn’t force Dipper to give up being Ford’s assistant, and you can’t blame her for being afraid of growing up.

To the Gravity Falls fan out there who hates Mabel for being a bad person just remember that Dipper is not kind hearted either. Both of them mess up sometimes but they always make up for their mistakes.

Literally throughout the show, Mabel showed concern, love, support and respect for Dipper as he does for her.
But she does return the favor as well.
She is a good sister to Dipper.
Man, I forgot how awesome watching this show was/is. Mabel is definitely one of the highlights of it and this video shows why.

People act like Mabel is this horrible person when she isn’t, she’s 12 and hasn’t figured out who she is yet so yeah she will make mistakes that she learns from. Also Weirdmageddon was literally not her fault, Bill literally manipulated her and used her fear of abandonment and losing her brother against her, and guess what? She realizes that no matter what, her and Dipper will always have each other’s back and went back with Dipper
Not to mention how she immediately showed remorse the moment she saw Blendin's eyes possessed by Bill realizing that she made a mistake.

I want to say something is that blaming Mabel for weirdmageddon is way similar to blaming Cecil (from final Fantasy IV) for burning mist village which is Rydia's hometown.
Let me explain :
1-Both of Mabel and Cecil were emotionally damaged after an important event happened in their own respective stories.
-Cecil after being ordered by his king to kill innocent citizens who have no resistance to steal the crystal from them causing him to be mentally destroyed and hesitant to defy him since he was the person who raised him and his friend Kain as his own sons.
-Mabel for hearing bad news after bad news about how horrible the high school was going to be, something she never imagined, her best friends wouldn't come to her birthday (a very heartbreaking thing but not more than the following) and the worst thing is that her twin brother Dipper who has been for her since birth who has been supporting her as she was supporting him wouldn't come home with her to support her in the horror of the high school causing her to be mentally destroyed especially after she was literally told by Stan that he would be with her.
2-Both of Cecil and Mabel did something without thinking due to of their mental depression which is wrong and can be considered stupid by the fans but don't forget why they did it in the first place.
-Cecil was ordered by the king to take a fire ring to a village after slaying an edielon without even asking him why he should deliver a ring that likely to him causes fire to a village or even didn't ask him where to deliver it which is dumb and wrong of him.
-Mabel was asked by Blendin (possessed by Bill) to give her the rift and she truly never knew anything about it and she gave it to him, yes that was wrong of her to take what is not hers, I don't deny that but don't forget that she just wanted to spend more time with her family and her friends mainly Dipper knowing that he wouldn't come home with her before leaving when she said "just a little more summer" since she was mentally destroyed.
3-Both of Cecil and Mabel showed remorse immediately for what they did and NEVER expected the outcome.
-Cecil after realizing that the king originally wanted to have the village burnt, he immediately showed remorse for what he did.
-Mabel after watching Blendin suddenly breaking the rift like crazy and THE MOMENT she saw his eyes possessed by Bill, she immediately showed remorse implying to herself that she made a horrible mistake.
4-Both of Cecil and Mabel fixed their wrongdoings and willing to make things better.
-Cecil had enough of killing innocents in the king's name and decided to rebel against him and importantly he fixed that mistake by taking care of Rydia and protect her as seen he protected her from the Baron knights showing that he truly felt remorse for what he did apologizing to Rydia.
-Mabel after listening to Dipper's speech, she willingly decided to get out of the bubble and fixed her mistake of remaining there forever by getting herself and her brother out of the prison herself then she told him he can take the apprenticeship and that's how she apologized to him and most importantly is the way she saw what happened to gravity falls being in Ruins, she was shocked and wondered what happened to everyone meaning that she had no full knowledge about what was going on outside the prison not to mention that the prison tempts the victim into staying there making them careless about what was going on outside it, Wendy and Soos literally fell for it and they literally knew what was going on outside the prison and Dipper almost but he overcame it so saying that Mabel didn't care about what was going on outside the prison is completely meaningless.
I want to say that Cecil and Mabel are both good and caring characters and while they made dumb mistakes, they immediately showed remorse for what they did and decided to fix their messes.
*Spoilers Alert*
Actually it wasn't the king who ordered Cecil for those horrible things to do it was one of the elemental archfiends in disguise one of Golbez's (manipulated by Zemus) followers.
