@@itschensplace she was smoker for decades (so was Aretha). In many old photos can see her holding cigarette (think was generational as lots of performers smoked). Nor sure when she stopped but was later on into her career. Not same type of song, but her #1 duet with the Spinners in 70s is on that still hear and can’t get out of head (Never Knew Love Before).
I was at this concert in Joliet, Illinois (about an hour south of Chicago). It was very special because not only was it a live concert, but it was also being broadcast live (not on tape) via satellite. Plus, she was doing some songs from her brand new album, ‘Heartbreaker’, produced and written by the Bee Gee’s. So, absolutely no pressure on her at all!!
There used to be another video where she sings this song with Barry Manilow; one of the most beautiful thing to hear is when she changes from speaking to singing.
Well, few things. That classic belongs to Ms. Queen iconic Dionne. No one does it like her!! She is the best. Israeli you said that you weren't expecting... Let me say when you really know Ms. Dionne, you know nothing she saaangs is predictable. One thing is predictable is that you will get a one of a kind superb masterpiece performance. Those that truly know her will absolutely 💯 agree. Last, you said you would like to see other performances where she does this with the same song. Oh, there are plenty because she never execute a song the same, lol. Most of the time, it is even better then last. Please do a tribute to this version. It starts @ 4:17 ua-cam.com/video/3rzVYXeEKsc/v-deo.html.
@@itschensplace Please do a tribute to this version of "I'll Never Love..." It will blow you away. It starts @ 4:17 because she does another one of her songs before singing I'll Never Love..., titled "After You", that performance was amazing as well. Thanks.
@@singingmanmd absolutely agree. I SAW HER IN PERSON do this she held the note so long people were on their feet screaming...including me...I wished someone had recorded live it that night. It was mind-blowing.
@@rayjones5684 Ray. I bet it was mind blowing. I have seen her many times in concert in the late 80s and early 90s even past prime where she has ripped into this song plus several other songs/classics getting several standing ovation throughout her concert set list!!!

You may not answer this, but I've always wondered what your real name is. Calling you Isreali sounds to me so generic. I visited Israel 🇮🇱 once while I was in the US Navy and had a wonderful time and actually had the best Chinese food outside of NYC I'd ever had. Anyway, whether you answer or not, feeling it's too personal, I'll understand. A supporter and follower from Brooklyn, NYC. Stu
What she gave to Whitney!!!!! That voice!
Perfect pitch, rich, full, and LIVE. No one today can do this. What a privilege to be alive to hear her.
At the top of her game here. So beautiful.
You are easy on the eyes yourself.
Dionne is the one and only
You at the minute 3:13 😳
Me be like: just wait for the end 😌🙃💀
Thanks Israeli for this. Dionne was my absolute favorite singer when I was growing up, especially in my teens. I couldn't get enough of her.
And amazing to think she was such a heavy smoker too
Wow really?
Ever since she debuted? Or later on in her carrer ?

And also keep in mind Dionne warwick is related to Whitney houston yea she's Whitney s first Cousin can't you tell with the long power notes
Yes, she had a whole career way before that song ever came into existence.
Whitney aunt! she learn form Dionne ! vocal and gesture are the same!

Consider listening her rendition on Hot, Live and Otherwise (specifically the reprise). She opens-up.
