We just unplugged the Ebrake from the brakes, used a rented tool from AutoZone, did the job, plugged everything back in, son turned the car on and off a couple times, pumped the break per routine, the had early Thanksgiving meal. Worked well. No scan tool.

Hello after you screw in the piston in do you un screw it back out before you put the brakes pad?
No. It will go back after you assemble and press the brakes.
I’ve got an 2018 Outback Touring. 3.6. Just replaced the rear brake pads. Why would they still be squeaking? 🤔
If your rotors have heat damage changing pads only will not help. You need to change the rotors also
