  • Kia Ora! This adventure was all about trying new spots and using different methods of fishing instead of the same old softbaiting in the shallows. A couple of beautiful tāmure come on board, as well as an unexpected haku on a softbait.

Awesome watching you land the king. You were using a Shimano Sedona 4000 but couldn't tell what stick you were using and what braid/nylon. Can you advise pls. Cheers

Cheers mate!! The rod is an Abu Garcia Muscle Tip II (think it's an 8 -14kg rated rod). 30lb braid and 30lb mono leader. Hope this helps! Cheers

Maybe it was 20lb braid actually after re-watching the video!

Is a fishfinder a must when fishing? Or are there fishing spots where there is always fish?

    • @gpfishingadventures7834

It depends on the type of fishing you're doing. For snapper fishing I don't really use it, but for finding bait schools and kingfish it's pretty essential. There are also some spots which reliably hold fish.

Nice bro it's a insane battle on softbait hey. My first legal king was on softbait screaming runs. Elevated jig head in that depth?

Sure was Skip! Definitely got the heart racing. Nah just had a 1/2 ounce on trailing behind the kayak 😂 all my best fish on softbaits have been caught while in the rod holder haha
