    Excellent and focusing exactly on the issues I've been having (In flight one handed kite control). First boardoff tutorial I see emphasizing the one hand steering details. 👍

      Thanks for the great feedback! Super happy that you enjoy the tutorial video!
      Keep on practising the kite control in the air with one hand and I'm sure you'll have the trick steady very soon!

    Great Video and well explained! Thanks a lot!
    Is it also possible to place the hand in the middle of the bar during pull up phase? Cause I find it quite hard to steer back the kite to 12 o clock with my backhand for take off if the powerlines are already between index and middle finger.

    • @stevenakkersdijk
      @stevenakkersdijk  4 роки тому +1

      It would also be possible, but the nice thing about having the fron hand on the bar with the line between index and middle finger. Is that you will naturally steer the kite back in to the riding direction.
      For your take off you should for sure keep the back hand on the bar so you can steer the kite just past 12, after which you let go with the back hand.

      Great! Look forward to it when you get time. Nobody has done a decent video yet which talks through what you do with the bar/kite during the jump and landing. Talking through your kite control during footage of a KOTA 2020 jump would be amazing. I reckon you will make an awesome video because you make the instructions so clear to follow. 👊🤙

    Great vid! Thanks for posting. I’m just starting to land my board-off jumps with my strapless surfboard. I can only do it in light winds with a kite loop just as I place the board under my feet for landing. With stronger winds and bigger jumps I’m having trouble controlling the kite with one hand and begin rotating as I come down to land. Any tips, like should I try to redirect the kite more forward after reaching the apex? I might also be initiating the kite loop too soon

    • @stevenakkersdijk
      @stevenakkersdijk  4 роки тому +1

      Hey Reedy
      It's hard to compare a strapless jump with a strapped jump. The kite steering and landing are completely different. If you follow the steps for this strapped boardoff, you will completely screw up on your strapless jump.
      Can't really tell you what to do as I would need to see it. Maybe drop me a video on Instagram or Facebook and then I can give you the right tips!
      Enjoy the ride!

    Awesome video. Not related to this video, I'm having problems with kite loops, I have done a few where the kite catches me and everything goes OK, but I'm scared of trying them in stronger winds and therefore higher jumps, I always have that fear of the kite not catching me. Do you have any advice.
    Thanks, keep up the good work, your videos are really awesome

    • @stevenakkersdijk
      @stevenakkersdijk  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks man! Always good to hear that people are enjoying the videos.
      I'm actually wanting to bring out a kiteloop video in the upcoming time, but not sure when I'll manage with Red Bull King of the Air coming up.
      The main trick is to pull hard with the steering. So that means your bar should be al the way down and your bar cranked to at least 45 degrees.
      This should be enough to let the kite go around quick and catch you again.
      Hope that helps! Enjoy your next sessions

    Also don't you hurt your finger when you steer your kite and bar with your fingers between the lines?

    • @stevenakkersdijk
      @stevenakkersdijk  4 роки тому

      In the beginning it can be a little bit painfull. This also depends on the powerline you have (plastic or rope)
      After a while you get more and more used to it and it doesn't hurt any more.

    • @stephdenis9744

    • @stevenakkersdijk
      @stevenakkersdijk  4 роки тому +1

      I'm flattered that you think Carved boards are that light. To be fair a light board comes with it's own problems (wants to fly away all the time)
      Personally I ride with a super stiff custom Carved which makes it a lot heavier, so I'm pretty much on par with other carbon boards on the market 😉
