Good evening Dennis! Sorry I'm late to the ship watching party. I spent most the day doing video editing which makes it impossible to watch other stuff at the same time. I also took two naps, including one pretty long one, can't watch videos while doing that either lol. So I finally caught up with this over a late night snack. Hope you're enjoying your boondocking on the beach now. I'm heading to bed here which I'm sure I'll enjoy. We've had lousy weather all week, the kind that's really only good for sleeping lol. Good morning friends. It's pretty amazing how loud the birds get this time of year. Rockport seems much louder than port a for some reason. It was a very nice few days. If you have to live in your truck, this is the place to do it.

Morning Dennis…..Enjoyed today’s video. Have you visited Malaquite Beach, and visitor center? Padre Island National Seashore Park Headquarters is located on Park Rd 22. There are designated paved and gravel camp sites. It looks like a 15 minute drive from where Hwy 361 and Park Rd 22 intersect. Thanks for sharing today’s video. Stay safe amigo.

Hello friend. There is a sharp turn about a quarter mile down the channel and tugboats are often needed to help guide the larger ships through there. Depending on which way the wind is blowing the side of a ship act like a big sale and they really struggle to make that turn on their own.

Good morning friend. Fortunately, the wind shifted direction several times later in the day so it was coming off the water. During the night it was coming from the east with 30 mile an hour gusts.

More than a little curious. Where, exactly, is that ship channel? I've seen them in the channel by the ferry and Roberts Point park, but not sure where the channel opens into the Gulf. Especially where you sit and film. I need to visit that spot next time we head down there. Still love watching your videos. I'll never get tired of the beach. Hope you got your coffee.
The channel goes from the port of Corpus Christi Bay and makes a sharp right turn just passed Roberts point Park. If you were leaving Roberts point Park go straight down Cotter Avenue and it will take you directly to the south jetty that's where the ship channel ends into the Gulf of Mexico.
I honestly can't recall anyone ever catching a keeper at this health jetty. I've seen photos on social media and it seems like most of those were caught near the end of the jetty.
