Fun Z Broly fact: In the Japanese Dub of the Z Broly movie Paragus explained that Broly actually sensed Goku’s power when he first arrived on the trap planet/New Planet Vegeta (Specifically in the scene where they were sizing each other up and everything faded to black except for them and their auras.) and that caused his saiyan instincts to go out of control which made him see Goku as a powerful opponent he wanted to fight and kill, the crying had nothing to do with it. He says quote, “Could it be Kakarrot? Does this mean that Broly’s instincts as a saiyan have been awakened by Kakarrots power, and he is starting to overcome my mind control?”
Also in the JP dub he only knows Goku’s saiyan name because Vegeta said it right in front of Broly. Broly also only starts remembering Goku right when he is defeated.
Bad translations and dubs can easily ruin even the best media. This is a good example of why it’s important because Broly probably would be a lot more respected as a character if the English version wasn’t done poorly.
I’m not afraid to admit I love Goku’s transformation in this animation than any of his canon versions, even GT
Plus the fight scenes as so fluid, especially Vegeta going in and out of Super Saipan, plus using his energy like a blade, is, in my opinion, cooler than anything we got in Super
Ssj4 is my personal favorite transformation bc it combines elements of the primal ozaru form along with the super saiyan hair style. That being said, this transformation is fantastic!!!
Eh i still like ss2 and 4 and ultra instant more then anything in this animation
I feel like they could have gone Harder with gokus transformation but yeah still great.
Though I too like the energy Sword I feel like implementing it in O vs Z would of been better since by Z's time a Technique like that would be next to pointless.
@@martinderabbie3429not really, vegetto and gotenks used these kind of ki-objects techniques, damn vegetto used it agaisnt super buu, a opponent where blades or in general most phsical damage is useless 💀
As i said, the energy blade isnt original, both vegetto/black goku had techniques like that, and even future trunks kinda used a similar technique, it aint that special at all, but i think you're right with the transformation, its sick!

Gohan wasnt really ruined though. He wanted to be a scholar and have a nice family and he has just that.
I dont know why that is a bad thing.
People just want to conflate with THEIR vision of Goku, the anime superman, and Gohan is not that.
It's that he completely gave up on being powerful.
Should he focus on his family and career? Of course.
Did he need to give up on training? No. Why?

@@DaddyVeo1911 i mean, at some point you need to be able to realize you are not cut for it, though.
Lets say Gohan treats training like aany person trying to stay fit. A regular 1 to 3 hour workout, in order to keep up with family, study and work.
Even with his hack of "hybrid saiyans are genetically stronger and hold more potential", its illogical to expect for him to keep up with Goku and Vegeta.
Bpth Goku and Vegeta live for fighting. They are always pushing their limits every day, finding new teachers and new techniques in order to keep on top of each other.
Their whole existance revolves around fighting, and the thrill of fighting.
Gohan is not like that. Plus, no matter of training could have prepared him for Freezer. Its doubtful even super saiyan god would have been able to keep up with Freezer.
The only way Gohan would be able to do that is plot convenience, just like it happened on Super Hero. It happened because Toei probably went to Toriyama and said:
"hey, we know that you arent much of an Internet guy, but we know that Gohan is SUUPPER popular in the west. Specially the whole SSJ2 "teen" Gohan stuff. Wanna do something for us like that? You can just copy paste the Cell saga and touch it up a bit. Oh, and make sure to play into Piccolo is Gohan's real dad (even though Gohan loves Goku) and Vegeta winning for the first time as well. That is SURE to makes us some good cash"
@@ero-senninsama1734 I hate that you're right, but I personally would've preferred that Gohan at least stayed conscious for the arrival of Goku and Vegeta rather than be battered and nearly dying like he was... Oh well...

For Akira Toriyama, a literal Chinese Princess having the protagonist put up his dukes so she can have him hold his promise to marry her was about as Feminist at the time as you could get.
After Chi-Chi got married she became a housewife by choice, cause that's the root of feminism / female empowerment.
“for a Woman to decide what she wants to do and who she wants to be.”
So up on being a wife and mother, she became overbearing unfortunately.

I agree with your take on the power level vs the actual fighting prowess in Dragon Ball. Cause in the original Dragon Ball, even in Z, you can have a lot of power but you can get bodied if the enemy's fighting prowess and intellect is high enough. Whereas in Super, you can be as skilled and intellectual in combat as you want, but it means literally nothing if their power level is high enough. It's pretty stupid

While I feel this animation is more so inspired by what the Northamerican, 90s experience is, which greatly diverges from what Dragon Ball is originally, I still agree that having official "elseworld" stories about dragon ball would be interesting and healthy for the franchise as a whole.
Dragon ball Daima, and the whole of Dragon Ball heroes or Dragon Ball Online/Xenoverse kinda is that.
You should watch DB deliverance by Frame one... it was insane

I roll my eyes whenever anything universal or outerversal is mention, it just feels like buzz words for powerscalers to take a feat out of context or something used in a hyperbole manner and taking it literally. The who stronger wins the fight thing mostly started with Frieza from his third form onwards. You occasionally get a good fight where it's not the case like Piccolo vs 17 and Goku vs Perfect Cell. I think there might be more of those types of fight in Super to be completely honest, Uiverse 6 vs Universe 7, the ToP, the first half of the Brolly movie, and the fight vs Cell max. Most of Super is just them learning to use their powers more effectively, I wish there were more training arcs like Vegeta on Yardrat where he learn better spiritual control. Though I hate how the dumb down Goku that he didn't understand mental training Vegeta was doing.
How do you feel about gt. It is actually pretty good with some of the characters and expands on stuff already set instead of just adding new shit

Another fantastic dragon ball fan animated series is dragon ball deliverance. The first episode is very rough around the edges but it has a great setup for the story and episode 2 onwards is beyond spectacularly animated!!!@
