I love how Marie’s whole arc is seeing loneliness from another angle. Adachi blamed the world for everything that happened to him and isolated himself in Inaba for years which made him go insane. Marie had a group of friends around her but she still felt out of place. This type of loneliness is the worst of them all since ideally you should feel happy but you don’t. She’s scared of hurting them and simply refuses to stay connected with people trying to help her and decides to walk into isolation forever after figuring out what she is

Best. Videogame. OST. EVER. It makes me think of a personal memory, which gives it extra, but I love Marie's arc in general. I wasn't expecting her to develop as much as she did, and watching P4GA only increased that.
Heaven, Secret Base, Long Way, and Memory are some of the best dungeon tracks in the game without comparison. Corridor is somewhat close, but it doesn't have the energy or feeling that these 4 have.
The whole OST for Persona 4 is incredible, and this song in particular made me shed real tears. The feelings of angst, longing, pain, and suffering are palpable. It was one of the few castles where I almost didn't want go through because I felt way too real.
Because she was completely irrelevant. Unless you maxed her Social Link, she just disappeared completely, and the game continued normally. She had no impact on the overall story. I'm thankful for Golden because it is the definitive version of my favorite Persona game, but adding her in was unnecessary. I don't hate Marie, but I don't really care much for her, either. Her Social Link was boring, and her "I hate everything" attitude wasn't really justified for a majority of her storyline.
These are my thoughts after recently finishing P4G. I ended up maxing her S. Link before December. I was intrigued as I went along it, but by the end, especially Rank 9, I had no idea where her storyline was going to go, and I was concerned on how they were going to finish it all in her Rank 10. They obviously didn’t clear much, in fact it was very unsatisfying, though realistic I suppose, it didn’t make much sense for her to go through all that just to amount to nothing. All that just to teach you that it’s important to make memories now instead of remember past ones..? The latter half of her S. Link was terrible, just repeats of her having headaches and being slightly tsundere with no actual progression. I really liked the first half however, when the initial intrigue started. I also really loved Rank 5’s cutscene, which I think is everyone at Junes. It was really funny and fanservice-y and lasted a lot longer than normal scenes. You could tell it was made separately from the original game after the developers probably narrowed down on what made some scenes better than others, though that might be good or bad depending on if you think it’s out of place. Her being Kusumi-Sagiri came out of nowhere really. She just came back into the story to go alongside Kunino-Sagiri and Ameno-Sagiri who, unless you knew Japanese history, are random as well. It’s not really, it’s a good twist, and at least they link to the fog, but I found that out after researching it. I think Izanami was just better portrayed because you use Izanagi, and get a subtle lecture about the two of them at a certain point unlike the other three. It makes the reveal worse for players who again, don’t know why there are these three random Sagiri. Marie during her fight was annoying. Realistic and true to character, yeah, sure. Annoying? Yes. I think of her situation as something akin to Shinji in Evangelion. Everyone finds him annoying, even though he’s just realistic. Still annoying. Her dungeon was also annoying, and I think the mechanic would’ve worked better for Mitsuo’s dungeon, where your skills and SP aren’t extremely high anyway at that point, and would link to the dungeon theme. The mechanic DOES NOT work well after just receiving the super powerful ultimate S. Link moves for your teammates, and then thus not being able to really use them till Izanami’s dungeon. May I also point out that at this time in the game, it may feel like it’s dragging, since there are so many culprits and secret villains, mixed in with extremely dialogue heavy days and big explanations, completely different to June-September, when people are truly in the flow of the game. She is also, and not a fault of her own, shoehorned into the game as a result of her being the new thing for P4G. Great for returning players I assume, not for people like me who played P4G as their first experience of P4 in general. Little things like her Valentines chocolate scene being forced no matter what, can tick you off, especially if like many people you don’t like her. It’s worse though, because I don’t think many people dislike her, they just didn’t care enough for her. Of course, that just depends on you, though.
@@narukami6364 that's the problem of golden being a rerelease. TheGeem Yeah, it sucks, and though I don’t know what the reception was to P4G in its release as I only ever heard of Persona half a year ago, I find the people who say P5R as a waste of money quite valid in some cases. Both P4G and P5R would be much better if they were remade and rethought, like a second draft, instead of adding things here and there, especially adding most of the new things at the end of an already very long game. Atlus and P-Studio have the chance to perfect and create definitive editions of their already great games, but in the end they come out looking like cash grabs.
@@narukami6364 Im hoping someone can verify this for me, as I read it on the Persona 4 Golden Wiki for Marie.. I think it wasn't explained in the game, but I think after the final boss of Golden she erased herself from the memories of Inaba, including you and your friends. If you romance her Rise gets confused at "some random lady" confessing her love to the main character, and later on past that point she told them everything, and they all become friends again. Something like that. Even if you don't romance her, Rise feels threatened by seeing her, stating that her show biz name isn't even that good, and a defensive sort of way. I'm sure you remember from saving her, but Marie's the only person Rise sees as a threat, and I LOVE that. It's so funny to me. The end of that boss fight to before the bath scene is probably my favorite part of that game comedy wise.
It is sad.. Everything we went through and all the happy memories we created together only to have them turned to sorrow with the realization of her inevitable fate. I won't let all it be for nothing.. I WILL save her!
Just finished this dungeon last night, I stayed up until 1:00 A.M. even though I still had to go to work today. One of the best songs in this game besides Traumerei, Girl of the Hollow Forest, Snowflakes, Heaven and Shadow World. This afternoon when I come home from work I will finish this game (I'm in NG+ BTW, and I have never replayed any game after I finished it except this one). I love Marie! I love every character in this game! And I love this game so much!!!
I usually prefer more upbeat music but Persona 4's soundtrack with it's sadder, calmer tracks really reaches out to me. I love it. There ar still tracks like Time to Make History (which is incredible btw) but when I'm gonna be looking back on this ost it's songs like this that really stand out. Also I love Marie, she's one of my favourite characters. I dunno why, I just really like her. Apparently some people hate her. I don't care, not my opinion.
There's something about this song that just punches you right in the heart... The first time I heard it I stood at the dungeon's entrance for a solid 5 minutes and just listened, emotions swirling up with withing me. The song stars off with pure, unfiltered sadness and desperation... then the memory of past days come through and shine a tiny bit of light, but you know it's temporary, the melody switches tone again... those days are gone and you are here, now, suffering, desperate and sad, waiting for the end.
I didn't care much for Marie. But yeah. That dungeon's atmosphere was super heavy and sad. I love the track. And it wasn't that hard. But then again, I had Trumpeter with Victory Cry so...
This was the best dungeon in the game by far. The amount of emotions I felt behind the whole debacle was insane. Marie's whole arc was really entrancing to me
I've occasionally thought, "What if there was a 'Weather of War' mechanic that affects the actual battles (can apply to players and/or foes)?" It would be somewhat like in a game called _Epic Battle Fantasy 5,_ where you can have effects that apply to everyone (such as status immunity, extra turns, or buff removal), or attacks/heals that hit random targets on either side. Naturally, different dungeons (and even some sections or battles within) would have different "weather" types. Come to think of it; not quite in the same way as what I think, but doesn't the real-world weather in *_Persona_*_ 5_ affect the shadows in Mementos?
@Retendo ??? Persona 4 is my second favorite persona title. That doesn't mean I'm going to excuse it from criticism. Nocturne came out 5 years before, had arguably better gameplay, and more interesting dungeon designs. It just feels like they dropped the ball hard and capitalized on making a quick follow up title instead of a proper, quality sequel. Persona 3 isn't any better, but the monotony is especially apparent in Persona 4 because they did nothing to improve on the formula.
To be fair, By the time you get to that dungeon, Sp is a non issue(Rise literaly hands Sp and the end ob battles, so you always have 50 something Sp at least). That plus the rings and the armor that basically allows you to cover every single weakness your characters might have, make the dungeon pretty similar to the rest(If not easier, i literaly three shot kusumi no okami without taking a single point of damage). Still my favourite. The music, the mobs, MY EMOTIONS.
i really loved listening to this as a kid and always closed my eyes to just indulge in it but my PSVITA kept going into sleep mode ksksk so thankfully i've found this
At long freaking last, a extended version of the soundtrack! I just got through the entire game last night(stayed up till 4!) and is now completing Yukiko's damn dungeon. I really can't wait to chill in the Hallow Forest again :)
I started the persona series by playing P5 on ps4 out of curiosity then after beating it i immediately ordered the royal collector's edition and the dancing game but everytime i talk about to people they always say that p4 or p3 is the best so i borrowed my gf's vita and played P4G and holy shit man this is now my favorite series and i'll also check out the smt games because i also love challenging gameplay but persona is something else
@Blue Star Well i know a friend who has a gaming pc, guess i'll have to ask him to borrow it somehow, wish atlus would port it officially on steam or ps4 soon tho
I played P5 back in 2019 and it became my favorite game, I also played P5 Royal when it came out and it's even better than the original game. I bought P4G on steam and finished it a month ago and although I don't think It's as good as P5/P5R, It's definitely one of my favorite games, and it does some things even better than P5. I just hope P3 gets released on steam too.
And the P5R Kaguya is the magical equivalent of Yoshitsune.. (not as many resists, but her Shining Arrows skill w/Bless Amp and Repel Phys to stack with her Inviolable Beauty trait(which triples counter damage))
I always liked Marie. Yukiko remains my favorite, but I rather enjoy Marie, her poetry, and her fish-out-of water social link. Beneath her rude, tsundare exterior was a gentle and lonely woman that just wanted to belong. Plus she's voiced by Eden Riegel, and Eden Riegel is always nice
I felt it was fitting that it's after spending time with the whole investigation team in the fifth social link Marie looks at them all and decides 'I want to be like them' and starts looking for her memories to try and 'face her true self'. Despite her sometimes blunt words, Marie does look up to the members of the Investigation Team.
Love this song, it would be beyond epic if it had electric guitar backing it and an awesome solo. But as is, it is definitely an awesome piece of music.
Kaguya is a persona, Marie is Izanami-no-Mikoto, not a human or shadow with the capacity to have a persona (nor does she have any need for one.) Kaguyahime doesn't even have anything to do with Izanami.
I cry a lot when i wlking in her dungeon man Since i know thia game almost over 😂🤣 So i cry a lot when hearing this song for the first time Psvita o4 golden my childhood
SPOILERS? My dude, the dungeon...was different than all the rest. You have no items going into it, you are forced to use the clothes it gives you, and after every battle, your sp is halfed. You find items in the dungeon that you can use, and you can't defeat the boss unless you have items/skills to breaks resistances since she repels everything.
Even if she is kinda useless with her default skills. (Only good against mobs weak to light. She doesn't even get the Shining Arrows skill, which she magically has in P5). I made my Kaguya a direct upgrade over Lakshmi (who was my best Ice mage for quite a while)
@@RedDrake110 My Kaguya has Megidolaon to clear out mobs, I kept Mediarahan, Insta Heal, Spell Master and Amrita. Her other skills are Repel Fire and Auto-Masuku, the latter is for Golden Hands just in case.
I kinda get why people hate Marie personality. If you not max out her social link you will never hangout and knowing her. IMO her reaction to MC is defend mechanism when she wake up and does not know who is she. It's kinda scary right ? When I enter her dungeon and this song and her poem start together it's just made me so emotional. it really match together. 1 year after beat P4G when I listen to this song Marie poem will pop up in my head. I really glad Atlus port P3 to modern platform so I can experience it. Also I hope Atlus consider remake or port P1 and P2 in the future.
Enter this dungeon with max-link Rise and max-link fox: "Pfff, easy peazy" Enter this dungeon without max-link Rise or max-link fox: "OH GODS PLEASE FEED ME A CRUMB OF SP TO HEAL MY EVERYTHING"

Marie's boss battle theme x3 the song is great I luve it!! But it is sad cause she has to kill her self to save every one!! OMG Jesus all over again but instead with a female
This song reminds me of how long I took fusing Lucifer for Victory Cry, only to find out that it didn't work in this dungeon. Why does Lucifer suck so much?
it does work in that dungeon but you automatically lose half your sp anyway because of the dungeon if you didnt have lucifer/victory cry you'd be empty fast instead you always start every battle with half
if u have Rise maxed you should have not as much issue so long as u hav some 1 with megidoloan or better you and naoto, and then yuki and teddie for support
huh sounds to me more like a song from etrian oddessy more then persona i wonder if Atlus has plans on re using this song if they do it should be in smt 4 whenever it comes out that is lol
Didn't like the whole thing with Marie but everything which didn't had to do with Marie directly had a great atmosphere so I'm really glad in the end that they included all this in the Golden Version!
Its not really difficult since the shadows have the same strength level of Magatsu Inaba, plus most of them are really weak mainly weak to ice and electricity

i really loved listening to this as a kid and always closed my eyes to just indulge in it but my PSVITA kept going into sleep mode ksksk so thankfully i've found this
I hope Marie will be a playable character in Persona Q.
Well at least she made it into P4A2.
She was shown in the trailer.
She is, as navigator like Rise and Fuuka.
countrybluegrass
no shes actually playable, look it up, Margaret as well according to a jp magazine
Marie is not a playable character nor is she a co you can place in her team But you can get the free DLC for her persona : D
Pain in the ass without victory cry...
nah it was really easy lol
@@ScarymanMrstill a pain in the ass though, since not having victory cry just made it a thousand times more annoying to go through.
Laughs in Rise giving you Sp, and the rings doing the same.
Seriously you dont need to use a single Sp item in that dungeon.
Get the invitation stone(24 SP per turn), and no worries for victory cry.
Even with it, you will always have only half SP
Hassou Tobi wants to know your location
At long freaking last, a extended version of the soundtrack! I just got through the entire game last night(stayed up till 4!) and is now completing Yukiko's damn dungeon. I really can't wait to chill in the Hallow Forest again :)
Say what you will about Marie’s inclusion in the story but this dungeon was really neat looking back.
I liked how it would call back to all her messages
one of my favorite songs on the game!
and the image just makes it so much better!
i dont know why but this sounds like a heavenly counterpart of the amala laberynth in nocturne or maybe its just me
I was thinking the same actually, except for the piano part, the rest its pretty much it.
juli12355 yeah strange.
Thought it was supposed to be similar to other themes in the game
The feels :C
Marie
This and long way are my fav dungeon osts
quite easily my favorite persona 4 dungeon theme now
move over, heaven
I started the persona series by playing P5 on ps4 out of curiosity then after beating it i immediately ordered the royal collector's edition and the dancing game but everytime i talk about to people they always say that p4 or p3 is the best so i borrowed my gf's vita and played P4G and holy shit man this is now my favorite series and i'll also check out the smt games because i also love challenging gameplay but persona is something else
@Blue Star Id love to but i'd either have to digitally download P3P on the vita or find my old ps2 for P3 FES Haha
My most favourite dungeon. I don't think it was hard, but it definitely was amazing
I remember in P5 I accidentally created Marie’s persona and I was like “wait why does this remind me of someone in P4?”
Does she have her own persona?
@@Jeongkookkim its the persona from maxing out her social link, Kaguya
And the P5R Kaguya is the magical equivalent of Yoshitsune.. (not as many resists, but her Shining Arrows skill w/Bless Amp and Repel Phys to stack with her Inviolable Beauty trait(which triples counter damage))
Well she does use it in Ultimax.
I just really like kaguya
When I heard this song in Hee! Hee! Ho! I thought the song was sad, nostalgic, and a feeling of forgetfulness to something dear.
If you haven’t had this blaring on your phone’s speaker while in a parking garage, you haven’t lived, and Marie doesn’t want you to save her.
Im not crying, you are crying!
I love this theme based on how Marie rejected everything, yet the memories in Inaba are ones she cannot throw away.
such melancholic song, and the picture is cool, specially Kaguya.
this dungeon really had them feels
Love this song, it would be beyond epic if it had electric guitar backing it and an awesome solo. But as is, it is definitely an awesome piece of music.
Kaguya is a persona, Marie is Izanami-no-Mikoto, not a human or shadow with the capacity to have a persona (nor does she have any need for one.) Kaguyahime doesn't even have anything to do with Izanami.
I thought I heard she was Kusumi-no-Okami; is it different between the Japanese and English versions for some reason?
I cry a lot when i wlking in her dungeon man
Since i know thia game almost over 😂🤣
So i cry a lot when hearing this song for the first time
Psvita o4 golden my childhood
The best dungeon in the game. Loved it.
marie will be playable in persona 4 arena ultimax
Your wish has been granted.
DLC
+WarLordDoesMC paid DLC...
As much as this dungeon was frustrating cuz SP, it was absolutely my favorite in terms of music and design.
Oh thank you very much i'll be looking for info about him/her it'll be great if he/she has more pics like this one
Well, i have a huge inner battle with me afraid to cry against me wanting to cry a whole damn ocean, while i was listening that song
Marie’s dungeon music might be one of my favorite’s aside from heaven
I hate this dungeon but damn this theme is so fucking awesome.
Kaguya
Even if she is kinda useless with her default skills. (Only good against mobs weak to light. She doesn't even get the Shining Arrows skill, which she magically has in P5).
I made my Kaguya a direct upgrade over Lakshmi (who was my best Ice mage for quite a while)
@@RedDrake110 My Kaguya has Megidolaon to clear out mobs, I kept Mediarahan, Insta Heal, Spell Master and Amrita. Her other skills are Repel Fire and Auto-Masuku, the latter is for Golden Hands just in case.
Best girl in P4 she gives you a Valentine Chocolate no matter what.
I love the new music they put into P4G. This is my second fav. Could you do an extended of Snowflakes?
I kinda get why people hate Marie personality. If you not max out her social link you will never hangout and knowing her.
IMO her reaction to MC is defend mechanism when she wake up and does not know who is she. It's kinda scary right ?
When I enter her dungeon and this song and her poem start together it's just made me so emotional. it really match together.
1 year after beat P4G when I listen to this song Marie poem will pop up in my head.
I really glad Atlus port P3 to modern platform so I can experience it.
Also I hope Atlus consider remake or port P1 and P2 in the future.
Enter this dungeon with max-link Rise and max-link fox: "Pfff, easy peazy"
Enter this dungeon without max-link Rise or max-link fox: "OH GODS PLEASE FEED ME A CRUMB OF SP TO HEAL MY EVERYTHING"
This song reminds me of strange journeys piano pieces
I thought her poems were beautiful and a way of expressing herself. She mostly speaks her inner scream through her pathos.
What’s unfortunate is that while I love this dungeon and what it represents, love her backstory and how it ties in Izanami a lot better… all of it just fell flat because I found Marie herself very unpleasant lmao
I don't care for Marie, but the ost for her dungeon is great
such a good one. this is golden only, right? cause it's apart of a new character.
Marie's boss battle theme x3 the song is great I luve it!! But it is sad cause she has to kill her self to save every one!!
OMG Jesus all over again but instead with a female
HEADACHE HEALED
OMG I said that in my last comment too. WELP
Can hear bits of shadow world in this
Almost i done my coffe watching till the end
That was most emotional dungeon
Theme is sad. Marie’s story is sad. Game is sad. Everything’s sad and I don’t like it.
Most of the game up to this point was pretty happy though. (At least compared to 3)
did you finish the game?
P4 super sad game
Not really. Not at least if you compared it to 3
We don’t talk about how sad 3 is
Mediafire Link doesn't work, is there another way I can download this masterpiece?
This song reminds me of how long I took fusing Lucifer for Victory Cry, only to find out that it didn't work in this dungeon. Why does Lucifer suck so much?
it does work in that dungeon but you automatically lose half your sp anyway because of the dungeon if you didnt have lucifer/victory cry you'd be empty fast instead you always start every battle with half
TheTruGammer Shoulda brought Izanagi-no-Okami
John Lee Ng+ only tho.
that is Kaguya Persona on the backround, right?
Very cool music..amazing..stay connected..pls
masterpiece!
Banger
We deserve to know the name of the artist for that pic!
if u have Rise maxed you should have not as much issue so long as u hav some 1 with megidoloan or better you and naoto, and then yuki and teddie for support
I legit wish this dungeon was optional because it's such a pain in the ass to complete
I mean technically speaking it is
Some parts remind me of SMT: Devil Survivor 2 overworld ost.
huh sounds to me more like a song from etrian oddessy more then persona i wonder if Atlus has plans on re using this song if they do it should be in smt 4 whenever it comes out that is lol
What genre is this type of music? It's really chilly
Ambience synth
@@elijahfyffe5176 thank you!
Didn't like the whole thing with Marie but everything which didn't had to do with Marie directly had a great atmosphere so I'm really glad in the end that they included all this in the Golden Version!
I love Kaguya's things
Kaguya is the best persona I think to use on Marie/Kusumi-no-okami
The feels are going to ruin my life 4 evur cause she is acting just like Jesus
I love this dungeons aesthetic and the music really hits home but dude THE ACTUAL GAMEPLAY OF THE DUNGEON IS LEGIT SO CHEEKS I ALMOST JUST QUIT
am i the only one who thinks at 0:13 it sounds like the Rocks wwe theme song or is it just me 🤣
Its not really difficult since the shadows have the same strength level of Magatsu Inaba, plus most of them are really weak mainly weak to ice and electricity
The download link is broken as the file has been removed.
Sorry about that! It should be OK now :D
I have no real opinion on Marie either way but this ost slaps
I hope Marie return as an ally
good thing i was already lv99 when doing the dungeon
