I hated Gregan as a young lad growing up because he was so bloody Good. Now that the hurt has passed and the scars have healed, I love this guy. One of the best in the Game.
Gregans explanations are so precise & concise, & it showed when he was in his prime he would always make me nervous & anxious whenever he played the All blacks, I always rated him above Marshall as top scrum half then & now.
This guy was a total competitor! in his day Aussie were a total power house!! shit there were years where we just couldn't beat them!! HATED HIM!! but then I watched a few interviews and realized how much of a good sort he is. Oh and Marshy is the man as well

i think Gregan was defensively so good. And i do think he was better than Marshel. But for some reason through the 90s/00s The wallabies told gregan to slow it down a lot. Not really his fault, but that as an aussi was my biggest annoyance with Gregan.

Yup, we had a move which required an inside pass with an alternate, the names of the moves was gregan and finegan...and we're nzers so....respect
It's a pity he went into the restaurant business rather than full time coaching. One of the best rugby brains in the game.
