KT120 SE UL mono block Tube Amplifier: First Tests!

This video is only the second time I have powered this amp up. Did some minor adjustments after the initial testing, which I will go over, and then I show you the testing results of where we are now.
I am blown away with how great these turned out, especially for being such a simple design!
It also looks like KT120 tubes are available again, partsconnexion in Canada has pairs for like $140!
I did some more research on the choke issue I discussed in the video, if you want the higher voltage rated model internal unit, use the Hammond 159S which are rated at 4H, 225ma and 500V, and have only a few ohm higher DCR than the 157R. The other option is the 159V with 1.5H, 500ma and 500V with about half the DCR. Either would be OK with the 159V giving about 5V more B+. I would use these others mainly for the voltage rating headroom and they only cost about $5 more. Just make sure you leave room for these larger units! I may end up changing my mind and just spend the extra $70 for a pair of these and figure out a way to fit them inside the amp.
