I agree. If they get someone with softness like kazuha, that will ruin his identity. I literally say meh to tighnari when i saw his design because I thought he will be someone so soft and the design plus softness of voice will make a boring character . But after the first parts of sumeru archon quest, i end up liking him. Btw, i love kazuha and his en va. But with tighnari amd someone with same tone like kazuha on tighnari's character is real meh. That softness fits only to kazuha. Hopefully they find a va that can to better sassyness than Elliot.
Some people in the community are kinda braindead so there could be a few that will do that but most of people will accept whoever the new VA is as long they can finally separate Tighnari from Elliot
Diluc's English VA told everyone to not associate Tighnari's new VA with Elliot, and he got attacked for "worrying about that instead of the victims" and still got attacked even after he pointed out you can worry about more than one thing at a time. And then someone maliciously took him out of context and claimed he was blaming the victims for what happened to them because this community has a hateb0ner for Diluc's VA. So yeah, I don't expect everyone in this community to actually be well-adjusted enough to _not_ bash the new VA for Elliot's atrocities.
I liked Tighnari’s old voice, but what Elliot did was unacceptable and disgusting. I hope the new VA is well accepted by the community. I fully believe that it's the right choice to replace Tighnari's VA. What the VA has done is inexcusable and despicable. Especially because he abused the adoration and trust his fans had for him in the worst possible way. I just hope they find someone who can really convey the sass in Tighnari's voicelines. I pulled for him on his banner, despite knowing he would be added to the standard banner, because I absolutely loved his voice and didn't want to wait for a 50/50 loss that might or might not let me get him. Since I had a guaranteed when pulling for Tighnari, I later lost my 50/50 on Cyno's Banner. But back then it felt worth it, because of Tighnari's voicelines. Not just Genshin VA's are expressing disappointment, I've seen so many different VA's express their disappointment as well as stressing that their fan's safety if very important. Gundham Tanaka's voice actor Chris Tergliafera made a tiktok about it and at first I was confused then I found out more and I'm enraged that someone with this much influence over people had the audacity to do this, and to minors its even worse.
Yeah, Chris Tergliafera made the Tiktok because he voices the Harbinger Capitano, so he's been pretty connected to the Genshin fandom as well. He even streams Genshin. So not only did Elliot's atrocity disgust him because of how disgusting and monstrous it is, it also had the additional pain of hurting a community that Chris personally cares about.

I’m just hoping that the sass is kept with the new VA, but also that the sass isn’t all that remains. The softness of Kazuha and the outright insults of Wanderer are great when we’re talking about Kazuha or Wanderer, but Tighnari is neither. He’s a genuinely caring person with sass reserved for those who refuse to learn.

Groomers and abusers do this a lot, showing affection and praise, honeying their words, to counterbalance the bad things that they do.

Generally, I’m against cancel culture. However, Elliot Gindi clearly admitted his fault as well as using his position of power *as a Genshin Impact Voice Actor* to abuse his fans that his removal is justified. Glad that there was a contract clause that was breached that allows Hoyoverse to cut all ties with Elliot Gindi and recast Tighnari.
Yeah, considering that this all happened as a result of Elliot using his status as Tighnari's voice actor, it would be dangerous to keep him as the voice actor. He may not have physically done anything to any of them, but he still inflicted a _lot_ of psychological damage. And allegedly, one of his victims ended up in the hospital trying to do something he told her to do. Not to mention, we can't assume that he wouldn't have taken an opportunity to do something physically if he encountered a fan at a convention.

one thing people don't talk about is that going forward, they will no longer cast va that are not already well established to avoid casting someone unknown like Elliot who turn out to be a pos, it will hurt a lot of new and asipring VAs, this hurt literally every communities under this game, players base, VAs, and creators, streamers, he should be locked up for what he's done.

As someone who was in his discord server and adored him as a voice actor and interacted with some of the victims in the server. I even was subbed to him on twich. It makes me sick, that I ever looked up to the him. I'm just glad that justice is being brought for the victims.

I loved Tighnaris voice, I really did. It suited him, but after hearing about all this I can't help but feel disappointed and disgusted. 25 people? Really? That's insane. I hope Tighnari gets some justice done with his new EN VA and I also hope that all the victims even if they didn't speak up, I hope that they can recover from this whole ordeal.

honestly when i first heard about this i didn't know what to feel. I admit, Elliot Gindi was probably one of my favorite genshin eng va's (before the massacre), so it was really hard news to take in. i'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new voice actor, because i know he/she will be better.
Same, I subbed to his Twitch and was a pretty big part of his Discord community, but once this came to light I went scorched Earth on all of it. I even have to switch languages if I'm playing Tighnari, so I'm very glad that Hoyoverse made the right decision and I plan to welcome the new VA with open arms

I don't know the full story since I left the Genshin fandom a long time ago, and I don't think I want to know. But I hope this is almost completely resolved if not already.
I'm glad they are finally changing him, to be honest I haven't been able to play with Tighnari since the incident, It's not that I hate him (on the contrary, I love him very much and he's one of my few built characters) but the association I had of him with his voice is hard to break, especially for me because like those victims I was also groomed as a child (I was 11 years old, got a "new older friend" in Facebook, turns out he wasn't my friend, stalked me, groomed me, and showed me pictures of his genitals). I can't wait for Tighnari's new voice! I'm excited to add him to my party again!

That's sadly pretty common when things like this happen over the internet. I don't know much of the details about how the law and court processing or whatever works in that regard, but I've seen many people with big platforms who have done very similar things that Elliot did who's punishment at worst was getting cancelled
If he is facing legal trouble over this, then sadly, no one can talk about it at the moment because criminal investigations and court proceedings have a tendency to come with warnings not to publicly talk about what's going on. To be fair, there are very good reasons why you're not allowed to talk about a criminal case that you're involved in. Letting any information out can interfere with the investigation, and the defendant is advised not to say anything by their lawyer because they could implicate themselves.
I love the current tighnari voice lines, it just perfect for him. But I'll do everything for the victims to be happy. We need to enjoy the game all together without leaving any bad memories

what i think is really gross is how elliot used knowing cyno's va alejandro to lure these victims in. i saw clips where alejandro expressed remorse about that despite the fact that he did nothing wrong in the situation. elliot is just a vile human being
actually there is also proof of Elliot going after the victims and a lot of people who comment on the situation. A lot of threats, manipulation, and in general disgusting comments (even as far as commenting on one of the victim's 8 or 9-year-old sister). Glad hoyoverse is at least doing something about this, hopefully, this sort of awareness continues.

Same, though I don't know if a background check would've prevented Elliot from getting hired considering Tighnari was his very first big role (and will hopefully be the only big role he ever has). The guy basically had no history to speak of because all his previous credits were a background character and two podcasts. He didn't have a platform that he could use to hurt people before this.

@@khakikohii The way the voice actor delivers the lines matters just as much as the phrasing does. Nahida's Character Teaser video shows that masterfully, and the way that Ayato's English line About Itto used to sound is also a perfect example. Ayato, in English, used to sound so hateful toward Itto, but when they rerecorded that voice over to sound the way that it's supposed to, he changed to sounding amused by Itto's eccentricities instead, even though it's the same exact dialogue.
There are a lot of people in the community who can't separate fiction from reality, will refer to the voice actors by the names of their characters on a regular basis, will treat the fictional characters like real people, and will attack innocent voice actors for things involving their characters. They are the ones who truly need to touch grass and be reminded that Tighnari is not Elliot.
This is only half the battle in terms of getting justice. I can't wait to see what the results will be from whatever law enforcement is conducting the legal investigation. There are about 20+ victims so far from age ranges 12-21. The most atrocious of Elliot's actions is his sexual comment toward one of the victim's little sister, whom was 8 yrs old. If anyone wants to see the evidence for that statement, i have a Hoyolab Mega-thread post that compiles all the relevant information on the situation. Nah the fame excuse doesn't hold up. The other VAs got unexpected attention and they didn't message underage fans about inappropriate acts. He was already a horrible person that happened to strike gold and got a role in a popular game targeted towards young people.

My only hope is that the new VA basically recreates the old voice 1 to 1, cuz like….say what you want, but the previous voice direction and characterization given to this character was FLAWLESS. I don’t want *redacted* to continue as the VA, but their performance and they way they portrayed the character was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. I just want THAT but done by someone else.

But after the first parts of sumeru archon quest, i end up liking him. Btw, i love kazuha and his en va. But with tighnari amd someone with same tone like kazuha on tighnari's character is real meh. Diluc's English VA told everyone to not associate Tighnari's new VA with Elliot, and he got attacked for "worrying about that instead of the victims" and still got attacked even after he pointed out you can worry about more than one thing at a time. And then someone maliciously took him out of context and claimed he was blaming the victims for what happened to them because this community has a hateb0ner for Diluc's VA. So yeah, I don't expect everyone in this community to actually be well-adjusted enough to _not_ bash the new VA for Elliot's atrocities.
I liked Tighnari’s old voice, but what Elliot did was unacceptable and disgusting. I hope the new VA is well accepted by the community. May they bring out Tighnari’s true Colors with their voice. ❤️

I fully believe that it's the right choice to replace Tighnari's VA. What the VA has done is inexcusable and despicable. Especially because he abused the adoration and trust his fans had for him in the worst possible way.
I just hope they find someone who can really convey the sass in Tighnari's voicelines. I pulled for him on his banner, despite knowing he would be added to the standard banner, because I absolutely loved his voice and didn't want to wait for a 50/50 loss that might or might not let me get him. Since I had a guaranteed when pulling for Tighnari, I later lost my 50/50 on Cyno's Banner. But back then it felt worth it, because of Tighnari's voicelines. So I really hope that the new VA will do them justice.

Not just Genshin VA's are expressing disappointment, I've seen so many different VA's express their disappointment as well as stressing that their fan's safety if very important. Gundham Tanaka's voice actor Chris Tergliafera made a tiktok about it and at first I was confused then I found out more and I'm enraged that someone with this much influence over people had the audacity to do this, and to minors its even worse.
Yeah, Chris Tergliafera made the Tiktok because he voices the Harbinger Capitano, so he's been pretty connected to the Genshin fandom as well. He even streams Genshin. So not only did Elliot's atrocity disgust him because of how disgusting and monstrous it is, it also had the additional pain of hurting a community that Chris personally cares about.

I've dealt with someone like that before, and even though I was certain he was bluffing and cut all ties with him, in the back of my mind I still felt nervous that he wasn't lying, and if he had taken his life, the feeling that it was "because of me" would've haunted me. These "relationships" are complicated situations.
He also kept telling them "You're special to me," "You're my favorite," "I love you," etc and kept saying "Good girl." Groomers and abusers do this a lot, showing affection and praise, honeying their words, to counterbalance the bad things that they do.

However, Elliot Gindi clearly admitted his fault as well as using his position of power *as a Genshin Impact Voice Actor* to abuse his fans that his removal is justified. Glad that there was a contract clause that was breached that allows Hoyoverse to cut all ties with Elliot Gindi and recast Tighnari.
Yeah, considering that this all happened as a result of Elliot using his status as Tighnari's voice actor, it would be dangerous to keep him as the voice actor. He may not have physically done anything to any of them, but he still inflicted a _lot_ of psychological damage. And allegedly, one of his victims ended up in the hospital trying to do something he told her to do. Not to mention, we can't assume that he wouldn't have taken an opportunity to do something physically if he encountered a fan at a convention.

It might be just me but I can totally see Jerry Jewell playing tighnari and it would be a lovely surprise for that to be the case. What Elliot did is just despicable, to use the fame given to him as the voice actor of a character beloved by many for his own selfish and disgusting desires is just indescribable at this point. honestly when i first heard about this i didn't know what to feel. I admit, Elliot Gindi was probably one of my favorite genshin eng va's (before the massacre), so it was really hard news to take in. i'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new voice actor, because i know he/she will be better.
Same, I subbed to his Twitch and was a pretty big part of his Discord community, but once this came to light I went scorched Earth on all of it. I even have to switch languages if I'm playing Tighnari, so I'm very glad that Hoyoverse made the right decision and I plan to welcome the new VA with open arms

I'm glad they are finally changing him, to be honest I haven't been able to play with Tighnari since the incident, It's not that I hate him (on the contrary, I love him very much and he's one of my few built characters) but the association I had of him with his voice is hard to break, especially for me because like those victims I was also groomed as a child (I was 11 years old, got a "new older friend" in Facebook, turns out he wasn't my friend, stalked me, groomed me, and showed me pictures of his genitals).

That's sadly pretty common when things like this happen over the internet. I don't know much of the details about how the law and court processing or whatever works in that regard, but I've seen many people with big platforms who have done very similar things that Elliot did who's punishment at worst was getting cancelled

If he is facing legal trouble over this, then sadly, no one can talk about it at the moment because criminal investigations and court proceedings have a tendency to come with warnings not to publicly talk about what's going on. To be fair, there are very good reasons why you're not allowed to talk about a criminal case that you're involved in. Letting any information out can interfere with the investigation, and the defendant is advised not to say anything by their lawyer because they could implicate themselves.

actually there is also proof of Elliot going after the victims and a lot of people who comment on the situation. A lot of threats, manipulation, and in general disgusting comments (even as far as commenting on one of the victim's 8 or 9-year-old sister). Glad hoyoverse is at least doing something about this, hopefully, this sort of awareness continues.

Same, though I don't know if a background check would've prevented Elliot from getting hired considering Tighnari was his very first big role (and will hopefully be the only big role he ever has). The guy basically had no history to speak of because all his previous credits were a background character and two podcasts. He didn't have a platform that he could use to hurt people before this.

@@khakikohii The way the voice actor delivers the lines matters just as much as the phrasing does. Nahida's Character Teaser video shows that masterfully, and the way that Ayato's English line About Itto used to sound is also a perfect example. Ayato, in English, used to sound so hateful toward Itto, but when they rerecorded that voice over to sound the way that it's supposed to, he changed to sounding amused by Itto's eccentricities instead, even though it's the same exact dialogue.

There are a lot of people in the community who can't separate fiction from reality, will refer to the voice actors by the names of their characters on a regular basis, will treat the fictional characters like real people, and will attack innocent voice actors for things involving their characters. They are the ones who truly need to touch grass and be reminded that Tighnari is not Elliot.

This is only half the battle in terms of getting justice. I can't wait to see what the results will be from whatever law enforcement is conducting the legal investigation.
There are about 20+ victims so far from age ranges 12-21. The most atrocious of Elliot's actions is his sexual comment toward one of the victim's little sister, whom was 8 yrs old.

I literally cannot believe this actually happened, I loved how Tighnari sounded in English, and I love his VA. But I barely found about this on Tuesday. Hopefully the new VA doesn't get bashed for what the old VA did. I'm sorry to all the victims.

this whole situation makes me feel so sick. i'm hopeful that the victims of that nasty bastard are able to find peace and move on. really glad hoyoverse is taking such quick action on this. i hope theyre able to get someone who can keep tighnari's characterization intact; maybe someone like jerry jewell [eng va of saiki k]. sucks that a favorite character for so many had to be tainted like this. thoughts and prayers to all affected.

I sympathize with him when he said that he was having a hard time getting roles as a VA but I've never watched any of his GI streams because... I don't really know, a bad impression of some sorts, maybe?
I really liked his old voice but, what can you do ya'know? the VA needed to be replaced and scrubbed from all Genshin media.
My only hope is that the new VA basically recreates the old voice 1 to 1, cuz like….say what you want, but the previous voice direction and characterization given to this character was FLAWLESS. I don’t want *redacted* to continue as the VA, but their performance and they way they portrayed the character was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. I just want THAT but done by someone else.
I’m going to miss Tighnari’s sassiness, I don’t use him as much, but I always loved listening to his lines in quests but this is for the better.
