In the community service part of your extracurricular, when you meant 'partnered up' did you organize things? Or did you just volunteer?

Cool to see another history bowl member! I feel like history and politics extracurriculars are rarely found on yt! Any advice for getting on a youth commission (trying to figure out what to highlight on my application)?

You can have activities outside of school like taking care of family, tutoring siblings, working a job (including a family businesses or farm), volunteering outside of school instead of through a club (even mowing lawns for neighbors or looking after pets for extended family), unofficial (as in outside of school) clubs/meetups, and literally any other hobby that you do on your own. Having a few high impact activities, social activities, or leadership positions in an activity (even unofficially like he mentioned) definitely helps, though, and I would recommend having some. Having a unique hobby also helps. Hopefully this comment can help you brainstorm a little. I’ve legitimately encountered people who think extracurriculars only includes school clubs and in-school activities.
