The amount of content for this one synth just goes to show how fun it is to play, absolutely adore mine, really want to learn to make some music with it to go with my Astrophotography Timelapses, in the mean time though it's just so much fun to just *experiment* on
Just a thought. You could have the Ableton supply the midi notes which you sculpt on the MF, which you record as audio on the ableton. That way you know 'what' you want to say, but leave the performance as the 'how', each row would have a midi loop, and slots for the performance, the final phase would be a mix down of those slots. You might then add a special row for whatever else you came up with in the course of that performance.
I've really enjoyed this! Thanks for sharing this music. I'm familiar with the Microfreak. A friend has one and loves it. However, I'm not familiar with that other machine in the video, the one with the grid of buttons/lights. What is that? What is it doing? Is it some type of looper? Are you also using a computer to sequence this music? thanks for your help.
You don't happen to have a tutorial that talks about how you're utilizing/doing the live looping in situations like this do you? Or are you simply setting the loop length, and recording into the new channel, and the clip automatically starts playing once clip length is reached?
I am sure that I explained it somewhere but I can´t find where. :) In a situation like this I usually have four audio tracks with the same input configuration. I can record clips with a fixed length or with different lengths depending on the music. With ambient different lengths are more interesting because the clips overlap differently each time.
The ableton thing is recording audio? or playing back multitrack midi to go back to the microfreak as a sound module? If it is the latter, I didn't know the microfreak could out put so many sounds altogether.
The push 2 is just a midi controller for the DAW (Ableton Live). It makes no noise on its own. Most likely it is just being used to control the recording of clips, mixing, etc.
This is really an incredible advert for this little beast, just great sounds extracted from start to finish

two little beasts, actually! 🤣
Simply sublime
Great example of the power within......I could litteraly sell all my other synths and just keep this one.........IT DOES EVERYTHING!!
But, you won't. lol
I just bought a MicroFreak, amazing piece of tech.
Keep coming back to this, you could release this as an album.
Love 💘 jamming with Microfreak...
💛💛❤❤💚💚✌✌✌🤩🤩🤩
This is my favorite MF track I’ve ever encountered. Really beautiful work! Mine arrives tomorrow!
Geil, auf die Idee muss man mal kommen, MicroFreak only! :-) fett, danke!
Less is more, you can hear that very nicely here. Thank you Martin
That cat has an amazing tone tho
Sehr entspannend! Danke Martin!
Beautiful pieces 😊
perfekt :-) sehr schönes Live-Set, sweet Cat ;-) sie/er mag die Musik auch.... ja, und eine schöne Vorstellung des Microfreak! DANKE
What an amazing little synth! Hope mine arrives before Christmas 😅.
Lovely sound

Ableton Push 2.
This is GOOD.
I fucking love my microfreak
well done!
Excellent work Martin.
You go yourself a sub!

Unbelievable
Ever think about creating patches for this synth? Man if u ever start a patreon with synth tutorials, I'll be the first to sign up..
I am working on a concept right now. :)
Hi nice video what drum machine is that and where do you get your samples and can you record trait into a pc ? thanks troy
Thanks for reminding me that my cat plays better than I do.

Realy nice! Mine will arrive one of these days. What is the looper?
Thanks! I used Ableton to loop the Microfreak.
@@MartinStuertzer could i use my kaossilator pro as a looper for my micro freak like your doing with you Ableton?
very, very nice - as always
Really fabulous vid. Amazing what one small instrument can do. Well in your hands anyway as my MicroFreak sounds no where near as good. 😀
One small instrument and a 1500eur controller lol, anyway he s a very brilliant artist
Spot on. Hence today I put my Freak back in its box nice as it is I have decided it has to go to make way for something that I will use.😀
@@InvertedPopesMusic what will you buy?
I am thinking that as the Freak is basically a Plaits (ok it is more really) I may look to either that or a Morphagene.
Nice! I’ve been doing an artoftheday for 30 days...it’s been interesting and fun..

Awesome Job
Amazing what the Freak can do! XD
One synth only. So whats the thing to the left of it?Nice sounds though.👍
I believe that's Ableton Push. It's basically Ableton in hardware format and it looks like the Microfreak is just being sequenced.
bin schwer begeistert.
super MF sounds.
kann ich nur den hut ziehen...
sehr musikalisch.
A fellow Cryo Chamber fan. 😊
nice set, did you use external reverb?
🎶
best berlin school on yt!
Brilliant! 🙏
Love your videos!
I will be soooo happy if you can do a solo with Vermona Perfourmer2 or DFAM, of course if you have one of those 🙏🙏🙏
13:17 The cat >.<
👌
cat is like "...whatever" @ 16:33 ;)
btw: great music!
Is that a Cryo Chamber coaster?
yes
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🙏🏼
How is this done , are u recording it just as audio?
Or midi and audio, love it
teea o coffy!
What is the machine next to the Microfreak?
That is the Push 2. It can remote control Ableton and I used it as a mixer and to trigger the recording loops.
@@MartinStuertzer Thanks, Martin.
Effects??
Yes! U-He Repro-1 and Valhalla DSP Vintage-Verb.
Geh mal raus an die früsche Luft Brudi🙂
Gundi v.Bismarck postest du das jetzt unter jedes Video? War heute 50km auf dem Rad übrigens.
@@MartinStuertzer 50 Km ? Aber nur bergab und mit Rückenwind ;)
I am very happy with the Minifreak because people sell their Microfreak for very cheap now🤪
"one synth only: microfreak"
_proceeds to use it next to another even bigger complex module_
What do you mean? The Push 2 software controller? I think one should read it like "1 synth (not 2, 3, ...)" instead of "1 synth (and nothing else)".
The push 2 is just a midi controller for the DAW (Ableton Live). It makes no noise on its own. Most likely it is just being used to control the recording of clips, mixing, etc.
There is only one synth being used here. The Push2 is a MIDI controller for Ableton Live. But I am sure you know that, Maps.
@@2112jonr actually, it was an honest joke, because that's how it looked like to someone who was just trying to start out.
