Very beautiful coins and thank you for the very kind words on my country. I just bought my very first pre 33 gold coin a 1874 type 3 gold dollar. I normally only have the money to invest in silver but I picked this little coin up for $75 and its in very nice condition. I'm going to send it to NGC for grading. But holding a piece of history and imagining all the things it has been through before finding its way to me is quite humbling. One day it will be passed down to one of my kids to appreciate and enjoy. Only if these old coins could talk.. Thank you for sharing your video I really enjoyed it.
The style you are referring to is called Art Deco. In the Brooklyn neighborhood I grew up in, you could still see it all over the place in many of the older apartment buildings and some of the older department store buildings. The Roaring 20's were definitely a time of glamour, excess and style.
Very nice coins for sure! I am liking the historic coins more and more. I do have quite a few sovereigns and older Mexican pesos. Eventually I will buy some pre 33 American coins

good job we don't use comic sans type face on any coinage or modern buildings yet ;-) thanks for sharing and interesting insight from your point of view. ( might take a look at that book.)
Awesome US coin collection. I started out with modern coins, now the bulk of my collection are old US coins. Whenever I hold my pre-1933 gold or my Morgan dollars in my hand I think of the Wild West. The sovereigns make me envision the grandeur of the British empire. I love these old coins because of their history. Your Capped Bust half dollar is really nice, even if it's cleaned. Btw, please check out my full gold stack video.
Good video. Thanks for sharing. As an American, I've only more recently begun to appreciate the gold coins we've minted in the past. (Silver is much more budget-friendly for me) I have much more interest in these older coins than in the bullion gold Eagles, since there's more history and character to them. As for other beautiful coins, I've become obsessed with 19th century British coinage, the queen of them all being the gothic Victorian crown. Some day I will acquire one. That and the Indian head double Eagle gold coin are the two most desired on my part.
Nice video and very educational Numistacker ! I don't buy many slabbed coins, but I think they are a great idea in the old vintage coins if nothing else to know they're legitimate such as the Morgan Dollar. You could say that for modern coins as well known for counterfeiting such as the China Panda. The red book is a must if you are a serious collector of these old coins for mintage information and the like. Thanks for sharing!
yeah, its okay though. those kind of gold coins dont loose value like that bc it is cleaned...premiums are low now so not a killer like if you had a "high grade" wheat cent
The 1831 one half dollars your showing I've always thought that the Eagle on the reverse of that coin would have been much better choice on the modern-day walking liberty silver dollar the Eagle that they have on the coin at the moment just doesn't fit, you have a beautiful walking liberty on the front of the coin and some ghastly modern conception of an Eagle on the reverse just awful

+Yossi Singer Also the charm of Pre-War buildings in Manhattan still make them highly sought after and desirable Real Estate.
One of my favorite periods.

MrMonkeySwag96 your gold stack is coming on nicely. I am noticing a slightly bigger gold interest from Silver stackers ...

+jimmyboy131 you have great taste with the Gothic Crown. Many people trade silver to buy gold.
Thanks. Yeah I've only recently given serious thought to trading in some of my silver to get gold. We'll see what happens...

LadyLibertyStacker It makes interesting reading. I wonder just who the people are who collect and can drop 50,000 on one of those early coins...
The very weathly...the kind that do Sotherby's Auction House (not sure about spelling) but have no need to make YT videos! lol
I guess the spelling doesn't matter )) I hope I am still grounded in reality. To me you always look at the exit before you make an entrance.
Bingo! :-)
I love that 1894 even though it was death slabbed!

How can you not love them.
Au Rebel It would be very cool to have a type set ))
Sure would.
Do pre 33 gold in light of present economic conditions! tyty
