    I know we all have our struggles, but you are making this hooking up to a drum mower a lot harder than it needs to be and i hope anybody watch'n this takes notes on how not to hook up equipment......yes i own one, and just some tips, since it's hay season again,...1, make sure your rear tractor tires have ballast in them these things are heavy, but anything is heavy that far out on the forks. 2, swing that thing in the straight position before you unhook it, and re-hook it in that position. 3 , put the pto shaft on the mower before you hook it to the tractor only take it off in the winter and store it inside, 4 always always hook the lower left hand non adjustable arm first, then adjust the other one with the adjustable turnbuckle, makes life a lot easier. 5 hook pto to tractor before the top link. Good Luck and be safe

    Brian, thank you so much for you videos on the Titan Drum Mower! It was because of your videos that we bought the drum mower from Titan. We watched all of your 5 hour video and it made assembling/hooking up the drum mower so much easier. We have it now fully ready to go!
    We are now wanting to buy the same rake and baler you have. We have found the baler from a dealer in PA or NC for $5900 so that is no problem. But we are unable to find the rake - did you import it from somewhere? I apologize if you answer this on another video…
    We are getting ready to put up our hay for the first time - you and your wife are a real inspiration for us!

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  2 роки тому

      So glad we could help you out with the Drum Mower!
      As for the Baler, I'm not aware of the distributors you're working with in NC or PA. I'd be curious to know who's selling them, and how they're offering them for so little??? Factory price is higher than that, so I doubt you're looking at the SAME item.
      As for the rake and baler, we imported them both direct from India. It was quite a bit of work, but so glad we did. LOVE the equipment.

      It sure is - Thanks ;) We had a bunch of this stuff waiting for the perfect day - but BACK to our mainstay TODAY ;)
      P.S. We missed the most critical step - Baling the Hay - when we take hay out of the field, I get super stressed, since once it's cut, you're basically a prisoner to ole Mother Nature (I have another name for her, but can't say the second half here - LOL)... We plan to publish footage of that step from our next cutting. We hope the Fertilizer test we did the other day (also published same day as this video...but a few months later, chronologically) will help guide our decision on what fertilize choice will work best. They quoted us 1400 lbs of the 20/10/10...so it would be a slightly larger investment than we made - LOL...but we probably need to do it, given the thickness of the grass hay currently. I would prefer to have cows pasture and just naturally replenish the ground, but since we want to make a runway of the back part, it would be a rutty disaster, potentially.
      Lots to consider, and we're BAD farmers so far ;) Thanks for checking in!

    Hey Brian my JD 4066 has the option for the "kill ya" button or the lever like yours in the rear I chose the lever it's something you need to ask for cause your sales rep won't mention it, JD gurus prefer you use the button because the sensus is people like pushing buttons lol, good thing I like lever's, great pointers for new land owner's Brian I learned as a youngster watching my Dad, owning land that you care about is not cheap or easy, so my wife noticed Megan's green toenails cute 😉👍🚜

    • @BrianPhillipsRC

      Nice! I agree that - "kill yourself" push button is a hillarious, and crazy feature, but pretty cool none the less. We looked at a 4 Series, but about 8 inches too high for our garage ;( Oh well, it would have also been a few bucks more - LOL (Few).
      P.S. When you're in the market for a new tractor....don't kill me for suggesting this, but you gotta check out a Kioti - I was AMAZED I ended up in this tractor, but have loved it.

      Thanks for the tip! Too bad It's tough when you're on a run with this tractor. The Engine speed and drive speed doesn't match as easy as I'd like at times. The JD system would be better in that regard, but I LOVE this tractor in almost every other way ;)

    I bought this same drum mower because of your first video about it. I cut the PTO shaft so that it would fit my ford 8n. later I got a massey ferguson 35, low and behold the PTO shaft was too short! dammit.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  2 роки тому

      NOOOOOOOOOO! I HATE when I cut them too short!!! I just got done cutting two days ago...raked today, and will bale tomorrow or Tuesday, if it's HOT and DRY again.
      Sorry to hear about your issue, but you'll love this mower when you get it running!
      Thanks for the feedback too! We kinda get destroyed in the comments because "Farming" is not RC, but I know a lot of other folks have more than one interest, and a lot of us RC enthusiasts have land to take care of ;)

We just got a new computer to help aid in handling all sorts of behind the scenes things that most of our audience has no idea about...but when we start using editing software rather than just concating using FFMPEG, we'll be better able to accommodate your request.

    Question how many rolls of hay could you put on that flatbed trailer of yours weight wise? When I was a kid I drove the farmall tractor disking grows(Orange groves) Plus a D 18 Caterpillar that’s when I learned all about hydraulics. I loved it, we had all kinds of heavy equipment. Later on in life they operated a petty bone (large forklift that booms out) for a big company.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  3 роки тому

      Depends on what size trailer you're dealing with, I suppose. These mini bales are only about 75 lbs each, but you can next them pretty tight, especially if you have a van trailer ;) I had a buddy who suggested getting a box trailer and just keeping it all until winter to get more money for the hay, but we'd just like to sell it when it's easy.

  • @elginsparrowhawk7203

    It would had been better to attach the left lower link arm to your mower first then use the adjuster on the right lower link arm.
    You will have to raise and lower your linkage to find the spot where you can adjust it to match the left arm, after attaching it to the mower. Check that the link arms are equal (height) in the raised position with a tape measure.
    Any machine really needs servicing/greasing before use and at least your aware you have a problem with your PTO shaft.
    As to moving your mower with the loader it would had been better to have left it where you could have attach it to the tractors linkage.
    You have the option of adding water ballast,wheel weights or possibly different tyre options (?) to aid traction and stability.
    HST transmissions have their place but a manual gear box with power shuttle would be a better option, ideally with an electric splitter gear.

We started with a Yanmar in our 1025R and it was AMAZING, but just not enough tractor to get what we needed done...and now we can really get some work done, and not too much more cash, only about 2-3X for a BRAND NEW ONE and with 60hp, up from 25hp, and now with a heated and ac'ed cab - it's just a kings thrown!
