Can you do something on his amateur career and when he started to show his potential? To many English speakers, he’s just come out of nowhere - we don’t know much about his early years.
Well in 2018 he was already performing very strongly on televised races, with impressive climbing display in Tour Of Croatia still riding for Ljbubljana team; later going on to win L’Avenir… prior to this as a junior he had been contesting GC in most stage races he entered from 2016-2017… so it’s hardly coming out of nowhere.
As a junior he would overlap his age group on local crits, so he would race with older group. The guy that pushed him forward came to one of those races and saw this little guy what appeared to be some kid struggling to connect with the peloton, and the coach explained to him that THAT kid was about to catch them because he was in fact almost a lap ahead of them at that point. 😂😂😂
@@MichaelBoogerdAnd he beat Mohoric in Slovenian TT championship by half a minute. At the age of 17 or 18. And we all watched the Vuelta 2019 when he was tearing the peloton apart for fun.
Tadej Pogacar won the tour de l'avenir, and he still is the youngest rider to win the tour de France, his first victory has a pro was at the start of his first season has a professional ,it was in algarve (Portugal)tour of algarve, a 5 stage race in February
His 2022 season has just begun and look at his Palmares. He's an amazing rider. He could truly dominate for quite some time. (Roglic is making the best of the time he has left, and Remco is clearly not going to compete with him in Grand Tours.) His rise from the junior ranks is well documented in at least 4 or 5 TV reports & shows I saw several years back (before his Vuelta breakthrough) on UA-cam. Most of them are in Slovenian and a few other languages (I remember one from a neighbouring country), but I honestly cannot remember the names. Just look him up. He's always been heading towards GC contender status, either winning races or placing highly in them. I saw multiple reports and features on his Ljbubljana team, and you could see he was already high calibre. I'm hearing all sorts of things from people in the sport about his UAE team management (their history), as well as the behind-the-scenes 'preparation' on his training camps/centres, but I can't comment -- I just don't know what's going on. But I hope he's clean. All I see are his superior performances so far this season. Sure, he's going to be put under more and more scrutiny; spotlight as he continues to rise. We all know that.
How good was Pogi before rookie year? At 18 Pogi followed Majka almost till the end of hard mountain climb called Rogla (15km long, 7,3% average gradient). That was Tour of Slovenia 2017 At 19 Pogi won Tour l'Avenir. At 20 - topic of your video
mmm english speakers, he just won by a second., we need to put second place on the same "class, right?., good or bad. pogacar has many weapons, he is a good trial runner, good finisher and has superb mointaun skills.
@@Thuky1 in high altitude training, you do actual climbs, while all you have to do inside that hypobaric chambers is to lie down like a sleeping beauty ... right? now, what's the issue? you can actually dope and simply explain the unnatural increase in your body's oxygen consumption by claiming use of that low oxygen pressure chambers .. but oh, sorry ... maybe only a few could think about that possibility .. because all else might not see that issue at all.
@@attybong I agree with you that using a hypo-baric chamber doesn't make him clean. However, I would argue that is useless to mentioned it in the first place as using such chambers is in no way suspicious nor is it banned. I take issue with the way its use is presented as if it was some how shady and should be seen as supporting evidence for drug use. I hope you know what I'm trying to say.

What was your favourite moment of his Neo Pro Season?
Vuelta stage 20. Attacking so far away and getting so much time on all the other podium contenders. Retrospectively shows how much he was capable of
Tour of California win. I had no idea who he was. I wanted to see one of my heroes win, as I live there and watched many stages in person.
Great video, thank you for the summary!
Great video my man

Tadej was also Tour de l"Avenir winner :D 2018
Merckx won the first five Tours of France he raced. Have a look at the other races he won 1969 through 1973.
Eddy was already 24 in his first TdF.

Watching this in 2024, Tadej just won the Giro and has aspirations of winning the Le Tour this year as well. Can't wait to see what happens.
The first time he appeared on my radar was burning up the Tour of Poland.
So cool and inspiring 🙌

I’m starting to find the consistency of his outrageous performances a bit suspicious.
Why not just assume they’re all on something and then forget about it?
They're all on something, it would be stupid for them to stay clean while everyone else uses PEDs
